500s first then will likely correct to the low 300s....
That's a bit too low.

I think that it will go to 500$. Since yesterday the amount of bitcoins on the sell side till 500$ has halved from ~6k to ~3k.

Price will drop to below USD400 this weekend and then increase to around USD500 by the end of next week. That's my guess.

It's looking very likely that it will hit $500 sometime in the next week.  After that, if BTC gets down below $300 it it probably for some actual reason --such as government regulation-- and not just random market fluctuations.

Of course this is just my prediction and isn't really based off anything.

My question was aimed at finding out what people think will happen FIRST, it was a long term question, not which will happen immediately or in the next few days.

I agree it will hover where it is for a while, but when it moves, where will it go first?

curious to know what people think. =)

I know what your question was.  My suggestion was that there is a possibility that it stays between $300 and $500 for the next few decades (or few centuries, or whatever you consider "long term").

It might exceed $500 and NEVER drop below $300 again.

It might collapse and be replaced by a new crypto-currency that is in some way better than bitcoin, NEVER to exceed $500.

It might waver back and forth between the two values crossing each more than once (in which case one of them would happen "first" as you've suggested).

However, you are creating a bias in your selection sample by excluding the possibility that it doesn't cross either threshold within the timeframe you have in mind.

Right now, looks like it'll be hitting $500 before it hits $300.
Too much demand right now for it to stop.

I'm guessing bitcoin >$500.  I have noticed that hardware prices (per GH/s) are going up but I can't imagine that's going to continue.  Sites like cex.io have the GH/s cost on a continual (nearly) downtrend, as it should be.

The price as of this posting is 428 USD on both BitStamp & Coinbase.

Will it rally and blow past 500?

Or will it stall and dip below 300?

Predictions?

You missed an option.

Isn't it also possible that it stays between $300 and $500 for near future?  Perhaps neither rallying nor dipping?
