Hi and thanks again for your quick reply.
There is another thread on here that has a list of scam fake sites and bitcoin.com is on there. Here it is.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-of-scam-fake-bitcointalk-sites-5130480So, I don't know if the operators are acting in bad faith as the above linked thread seems very trustworthy so I am still unsure as to whether or not I should complete my request for a new password, they have my email.
Bitcoin.com =/= Bitcointalk.com and Bitcoin.com as far as i know isn't malicious in the sense that they steal your passwords, but rather try to sell you stuff you don't actually want.
So, I don't know if the operators are acting in bad faith as the above linked thread seems very trustworthy so I am still unsure as to whether or not I should complete my request for a new password, they have my email.
It doesn't really matter. If you don't reuse your Bitcointalk.com password anywhere else in combination with the email you signed up with to Bitcointalk.com, there is nothing to worry about.
The most they could do with your email if it doesn't have the same password as it has on Bitcointalk.com is to bruteforce it, which is, if your password is longer than ~10 characters, very improbable. If you have something like Authy/2 Step Verification, it becomes impossible.
I always use different usernames and passwords for each website I visit but I am worried as they have my email.
I have other types of non bitcoin forums that I use the same email for, but the passwords on these sites are diffferent to the one I used for bitcointalk.com.
Are you saying I should change my password for each site with that same email on, or do you just mean that site as that site is the only one with that password?
You should only change your password on sites that use the SAME password as you used on Bitcointalk.com, (which you said, you didn't, so there should be no problem.)
Also, should I stop using that email on future sites I might register with, ie, again, non bitcoin sites?
No. Just make sure that when you register on a new site, you use a different password than you used on Bitcointalk.com, that's all.
I am not tech savvy and am worried my question may not seem decent but I need an answer to it, as it involves possible lost bitcoin/litecoin?
Thanks in advance
It never hurts to ask. If you're looking to (potentially) recover some Bitcoin, your best bet would be to ask your question here ->
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0 (If it's related to recovering certain wallets that is?)
