Public sector services and immigration are incompatible. No borders = no public sector.

So after some time, maybe several generations, you think there would no no imbalances? From one state/area to another?

Doubtful in the extreme. One's climate has a bearing on the quality of life. There are large areas where water is limited and crops are hard to grow. Equally if society collapsed all those cold places would suddenly become a lot harder to live in.

I suppose everyone would huddle on the Canary Islands all they all starved to death.

Life is a game, you either play it or get played.
Most countries have open borders where people can visit simpler than most other countries. These are the ones where it allows business exchange or networking.

International movements are already starting to pop up shifting boundaries by connecting infastructure. In the not too distant future i'm starting to observe this happening slowly, yet steadily.

The issue of immigration is big in the news at the moment, in Europe and the US.

There seems to be two camps in this debate:

(A)
Those that feel that the current levels of immigration are detrimental to (low paid) wage earners and/or local culture/civilization and access to immigrate needs to be qualified and restricted more than is the case today.

and

(B)
Those that feel that in general, immigration is a good, necessary and desirable phenomenon that stokes our economy and enriches our culture. Freedom of movement is the end goal.

So my question here is, if we were to take case (B) to the extreme and take away ALL National borders tomorrow, allowing freedom of movement of everyone in the world....

What would happen?
Your second scenario is not going to happen, even in old roman times uncontrolled immigration was seen with bad eyes and that is why the romans had issues with the Gallic tribes, this is nothing new and it is simply not going to happen.

I suppose an interesting aside would be: If the world were to become border-less tomorrow... Would this change anyone's plan here?

Eventually people would redistribute in a way that lower the asymmetries. Not a perfect World, though, the predatory and viral behavior of humans would cause some groups to try to isolate themselves by... restoring borders.

Until things come back to balance, it would be total chaos, with the current main economies to be overcrowded and crime rates spiking. Afterwards would be a good thing... but we don't know exactly how long it would take for balance to re-settle, it could mean several generations.

There would be an absolute chaos, people from poor countries would swarm the rich countries, making it crowded and overpopulated. Eventually those big cities would crash, leaving smaller poorer countries and towns with less people, therefore more chance of finding a job.

Shortly, chaos.

If boarders where to be taken away we would expect developed countries to get over populated in a small time frame with lawlessness and  all sorts of crimes Sad  such that the immigrants will want to go back where the migrated from.

If there were no borders then we would see this in every European city x100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et-6w_BDdc4

There would be looting, crime and murder everywhere. With the exception of North America. Trump's wall will block them coming from the south, the Atlantic will swallow them up trying to cross and well no one will go to Canada since its cold as fuck up here.
