What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
I do not care if BTC is banned. I still use the BTC able to earn money. Because many of the users of BTC even banned them btc

I think when it happens the price of bitcoin will go lower .that's not means it will stop .the people who use it will hide.
of course bitcoin price would fall a lot in my opinion because everyone would start dumping their bitcoins
Bitcoin's value will drop. That's a definite conclusion but it will surely not go undervalued since bitcoin was used and will continue to be used in the black market and banning bitcoins will only result to a global revolt because there are multiple bitcoin users in different countries now.

It would really impact the economy. Especially it would affect the people over here in this forum. It would turn as a disappointing moment to all. I am sure everyone here will be supporting BTC even after something happens as you said. Lets supportive the one which supports us everyday.

I believe it's going to have a drastic impact on the people who use them. But first let's talk about government taking initiative to ban it. They'd ban anything they see as a threat to them.

If BTC has a huge growth in value that is, as far as the world goes, i doubt it will have some sort of a big impact to the economy, probably make the other currencies grow even more..
Like Russian ban bitcoin from their region, and it gives a lot of impact for bitcoin users in the Russian, Many merchants, store and big seller like steam feel the impact of this.

Oh yeah, that's a very bad impact on the economy as well, well not for the russian economy, but for the people and for the economy if we look at it as a whole, it has a drastic impact to the BTC currency price.

Russian oligarchs see it as a threat to them, though I believe still that a lot of russians have found a way to use it, vpn etc, probably still keeping it stored in their wallet for usage later or maybe exchanged it already.

Governments can't even decide if bitcoin is currency, asset, or commodity. Universal bitcoin ban will never be an option.
Bitcoin can be banned only locally, by governments who are either afraid of the economic freedom it can bring (Russia) or because they think it is harmful tool used by criminals (Thailand),

Bitcoin bans with local character are constantly proven to be ineffective and unenforceable. There is nothing we can worry about.

There is a difference between getting banned or making it illegal.

If it were banned me and many others would still be using bitcoin. When it is illegal a lot of people (me included) would stop using it.

I don't think Bitcoin can be completely banned by the government because it's decentralized and people are running private nodes at their homes. It's not like the government could just shut down the Bitcoin headquarters and stop all operations. Even if using Bitcoin officially gets banned people will still do underground business at bootleg exchanges so Bitcoin will continue to exist even in countries with problematic governments.

bitcoin is designed in a way that it doesn't listen to any authority so banning bitcoin even though may have a temporary effect on the price but it will be only temporary and bitcoin will still continue being used.
