Losing all your money is one compelling reason to stop. Gambling on debt would only make your problems worse. Having zeroed out would push you to rethink your decisions and might set you to another hobby as you say, and just change yourself, or accept your fate. Nonetheless, you should avoid going to that point and always self-control your gambling habits as you possibky could.
Most people definitely stop on gambling after a very devastating loss. But the point of this topic is to find ways that would help you avoid that point of no return. We want to pull the weeds out before it grows. That being said, I think the best alternative is to keep yourself active. Do other things besides gambling like business. If you let gambling take your lifestyle, it's going to eat up on you in the process. Leaving you like an empty husk once everything is already done.

I know my priorities already and my passion right now and even I know that I still have a time to play gambling and Im still playing because Im happy to do that. The reasons why I stopped before playing gambling because Im addicted playing and I need to do that and Im happy because when I turn back I already know how to control playing and that's what Im doing right now.

No need to stop gambling if you are happy doing this but knowing your limitation is the key to prevent a big lost and high chance of winning is going to get .

I would stop gambling if I have other important things to do and if I find something that would take out my mind on gambling.
But right now I don't think that there would be something that would really keep me out of gambling.
I would also stop if I think that it is already affecting my personality if I am being violent or something because of it.

If the gambler involved is a moderate gambler, losing all money is indeed a compelling reason to stop. But I have to say this is easier said than done. Sometimes, when you are at the height of fun and thrill and you lose all your money, you might actually end up looking for ways to continue gambling.

I had personal experiences of betting even when I am already running out of funds. When lost, someone has to run quickly and make a withdrawal at the nearest ATM. Where I come from, gamblers would even end up betting their watches or even cars when their wallets are already drained.

betting with items is only possible offline  but online you cant bet them directly but you can sell them first online if you want to or  if you know someone that can accept your items and asking for equivalent cash   . you said you gamble with zero balances only , that is good so that you dont come into your mind that you need to redepo to make a comeback  but others are doing a redepo not once , twice but i see someone doing 4th straight re deposits just to recover what he lost  .

are there any things in life that would make you stop gambling?

the two things that come to my mind are:
- making enough or a lot of money.
- finding a passion (even relationshiprelated or life/activity related) that changes your priorities.

but can you see other things than that?
no there is not why?

because i have no plan stopping gambling ,there is no harm bringing me my gambling habit so there is no point of planning or looking on ways to stop doing this.

this questions applied to the people who is treating gambling as part of their life and the worst is using this to Make a living but what brings them is total destruction yet doing nothing.

if i were to become addicted?for sure i will seek for professional advice and help before things getting worst.

That's too much of an addiction, it would already run ones life, I was once lose control in gambling but I never ended up doing that,... well, I don't have a car nor wear watch but the action to sell your valuable things just to gamble and try to win back your loses is already beyond unacceptable.

That's a disease that would result to living a disastrous life, it would be more serious of a problem if you have a family as it could affect them financially, you might have a job but you cannot concentrate due to gambling addiction and soon, you might also loss that job.

but can you see other things than that?
I have personally seen people who make a lot of money from gambling but are increasingly becoming gambling addicts (not stopping gambling), and those who are already married and have many children but still gamble even though the intensity of gambling decreases.  so I think for those who have already gambled, the two things above will not be able to stop them from gambling (this is my personal experience too) Cheesy
Even the gambling is addictive still its depend to the person if they become a gambling addict. For me there is no reason to stop gambling maybe i'll take a rest for a while then continue until I see my goal. Once i meet my goal then i think i should quit gambling, for me having purpose is make you lessen from being addictive in gambling.

The problem with the first reason that you are giving is that you are making the assumption that those that are gambling are doing it because they want to earn a lot of money, if that was the case there will not be rich people gambling and we know that is not true, there are many people with a lot of money gambling and there are many that are gambling just because they like the activity and they are not looking to earn money.

But your second example is correct, if I changed my priorities then I could probably stop gambling, but since I only gamble once in a while I do not see the point of stop doing something I like.

Your second reason will not make people to stop but it will push for less frequency than previously how they were doing. I believe people will gamble for entertainment reasons also will never stop regardless of your two reasons. But, I agree they may low-prioritize gambling which means they do gamble once in a while as they do have other passionate thing to engage themselves with.
I guess for an online gambler, moving to a remote place where only slow/no access internet and free electricity shout down kind of things may enforce stopping gambling as they cannot continue gambling like how they are enjoying in a city life.  For a physical casino visitor too, moving to some other place where no casino available kind of thing might work toward stopping gambling as long travel for the reason of gambling may not work in long term.
Yes we need to keep everything in order, to the lowest priority up to the highest priority if ever, we cannot say that all of us will make gambling to the lowest priority but we need not to give all our time to that, if we are not a full time gambler or professional gambler I must say that we need to arrange our time, we will not stop gambling all of you know that thing because we all want to earn money, but we need to stop when we are tired and continue losing many money.

If you earn a lot of money, then that could make you more greedy and getting a hunger to win. It won't make you stop instead will make you play further.
Greediness will lead to addiction or I must say that they are similar, and needed to prevent in order for you to have a good game , and if order for you to continue playing. Like what I have said, control everthing you can if you still want to play.

There's no need to be upset

so many good resposnses to this topic
thanks for sharing your opinions here.

For me, diverting to other activities or habits is the best thing to forget for a while if you are addicted to gambling. Yet, there are many things to do but think it over what are those suitable in your habit. Do something that will completely different that you might overcome to a gambling habit. Just makes your life busy and try to set yourself new goals and tasks each day. Probably, you will be better able to cope with gambling urges when the right time comes. But you can fully be stopped with in a short period of time.
This is true, and I also experience the same situation when I'm too busy to gamble, or too exhausted, even if I'm not at work. I think people who are addicted to gambling have too much free time in their life. If they want to stop, they should seek challenging activities to keep their mind busy.

Responsible gambling is fine though, I might do it again when I have the time.

definitely, if tired or working too much makes no sense to gamble and this can develop into bad habits afterwards.

Priorities,
This is the only thing that would make any of us stop from gambling,
Of course there are some who would turn back from their priorities just to have fun and continue their vices.
When we have our priorities we would focus on it and we would avoid any other things specially if we don't have extra funds.
While you have a valid point but it'snot that easy. Money for all of us has always been the highest priority no matter what we say or do, that's the fact and gambling is directly related to making money even if it's actually ending on losing side most of the time.

Setting priorities can be helpful though as you mentioned, like a student should always give higher priority and preference to studies but that's actually not working for most of us, as the bitcoin community consist a huge number of youth members we do know that its the youth that gets addicted much quicker than the aged ones.
I agree on your point regarding how easy to set aside priorities are when the call for fulfillment comes. Most people can just throw away whatever they have in their hands be it something more important than gambling. But that being said, I don't think it's a bad alternative either. As compared to conventional ways of withdrawal from gambling, keeping yourself busy is the most efficient. When you forget that you want to gamble, you don't gamble. And being busy does it best. So it's not just secluded into setting priorities, you can keep yourself from gambling through hobbies, work, greater plans in life, even business.

That's my take on this concern, along with a bit of an alternative if I do say so myself.

BTW, I don't think that your first reason might actually make you stop gambling
- making enough or a lot of money.

I would strongly disagree with this point. There is never a amount of money that one would be satisfied with because if ever there was such a amount that would satisfy people enough to not think about earning then surely the likes of Warren Buffet and Bill Gates would be sitting idle in their house.

I agree that when we gamble we always feel like if we win some certain amount, we would stop gambling once for all. But trust me being a gambler I have often reached such targets and the greed only increases.

The only way I personally see is - Find some hobbies, which you suggested as your 2nd option.
Me too, even though I will earn a lot in gambling still I will not stop to gamble it becomes my hobby and sometimes the money that I am getting there will be used in my daily expenses, savings and sometimes in trading as well. There comes a time that I already think about stopping but then , it runs in my blood now and I cant stop not because I am already addicted on it but because it is my source of fun now.

i dont have the first reason that you stated which was to have enough money but if ever i have enough money i dont think it will be contented in my life and stop gambling but i think i will only play more gambling because i have alot of cash to burned with  . i already have the second reason you have posted which was to have a relationship or a love life but its still the same , i still play gambling  . my wife is also a gambler so she dont stop me playing a gamble and i dont have a child right now , so that maybe the reason that i have alof of spare time to spend playing  .

Well, I can't see what will make me stop or quit gambling because, gambling for me is just for fun, not for financial gains. Am from a family that so much cherished gambling and we'all love doing it as fun. I started with poker game from my elder brother, back in those days, I got yo know how to gamble with financial priorities exclusive. Although, am not addicted to gambling but just love gamble.

Maybe a big loss would? Or lack of money?
i think it is inappropriate because what he said Gambling is just for Fun,and Losing Big money wont happen for responsible gamblers like Him
Even those like you who love gambling must have that one thing that could stop them from gambling. For some it would be a spouse, for others sickness, for some other people lack of money that would make them count every penny.

I'd stop gambling if I ever felt addicted or after losing a big sum of money.
that is why we must not become addicted mate, but even if?we can still move on and just Play gambling with moderation, like me who is a former addict i never stopped gambling totally instead i played only with limitation.
