Maybe I'm nuts but I'd hold them. Either I'll make my family very wealthy in 25 years or I've got one hell of a story to tell about how I passed on half a million dollars and instead I got all these worthless make believe coins.

You are retarded if you think you can convert that amount to FIAT without being taxed most of it or going to jail.

Bitcoin doesn't have to be converted back to FIAT.

1btc for 1000$ for sure. But I guess at point when it will be 1k$ i will be able to buy most of stuff I need for bitcoin so I probably won't need fiat any more.

I would probably never trade them for fiat and eat pizza the rest of my life.
Then die a slow painful death due to weight related diseases.

I hope I never get 10000 BTC

dreams are being turned into reality at an ever increasing rate via technology.
Holy shit! We have MOSQUITO LASER AUTO-TURRETS! That may be even cooler than Bitcoin.

Assuming 500 average dead per day per $50 unit, with a $50M investment, we could be knocking off ~500M mosquitoes per day, or >182B mosquitoes per year. Guesstimates on global mosquito population vary wildly, but it looks like it's somewhere between 100T-1Q, with an estimated annual birthrate of ~200B-1T. Combined with already-used pesticides (another everything-killer which can be put out of commission), our unfortunate flying friends who eat the mosquitoes, and a much bigger investment ($50M for 600k-3M human lives per year is crazy-greedy -- it'd probably be more like a $1-5T investment), we have a pretty solid chance of eliminating mosquitoes within a few decades with a rapid decrease in population as soon as units are produced in mass-scale.

I'd guess mosquitoes make for decent compost, too. I wonder if you'd end up with a noticeable giant blood stain if it were set up over asphalt...

I'm changing my answer to mosquito laser purchases and NPO funding for mosquito lasers.

ETA: Numbers are way off and can't really be measured per annum. Birthrate must be way higher given mosquitoes only live ~3-100 days.

Most mosquitoes over 95 days old have a horrible life:
Sitting all day in an old mosquitoes nursing home just drooling and watching TV.

Honestly since there's only 3 options, I'd do B or convert to fiat when it reaches $1000.  I could always re-invest back to BTC, but also take care of any bills, debt, family I have immediately.

If there was a half/half choice, I would really pick that.  Half Fiat/Half BTC.

I would give away almost half (OK closer to 30%) because giving them away would be a blast and I would owe less taxes.  Smiley
Then, ~30% into cash and the rest stays in BTC and alts.

I think you may add another choice:  you change 5000 BTCs at once and keep 5000 BTCs in your wallet. Grin

"I will switch to fiat immediately" > maybe you don't believe in bitcoin

Or maybe you still basically can't buy jack shit with bitcoin? I'm just being honest here. Like it or not, btc is still basically just an investment vehicle and anyone who keeps all of their capital in one narrow investment is begging for trouble. Diversification = not losing all your money one day because of a random negative event.
