Hey guys.

What's a good app for watching your crypto porfolio?

Coins manually entered and not connecting the app with wallets, exchanges etc. (I don't trust it) but nevertheless, being able to watch how much I got, how it changes over time, and whether I have gain or loss, from the initial purchase.

Thanks
Coinmarket.com
Coingecko.com
Although I have used several apps to view my digital assets in portfolio form, I have found CoinMarketCap to be the most popular and straightforward. Here you can see my portfolio as well as information about various exchanges, volume, rank and various updates. We can also easily get popular news from CoinMarketCap. You can keep more popular apps as your portfolio.

Currently I use 2 applications to see the development of my portfolio, Coingecko and CoinMarketCap, both of which have their own advantages, but I use Coingecko more often than Coinmarketcap. Coinmarketcap is only for looking at meme coins or shitcoins because they are more complete there, but Coingecko is for looking at the main portfolio.
There are several applications but Coinmarketcap and Coingecko stand out to be more transparent and enlisted with important information. Coinmarketcap and Coingecko happens to be one of the leading sites that best provided images and crude informations surrounding a project. This was my foundations when it comes to obtaining crypto news and road maps of crypto projects in the market. Dealing shitcoins in the system, it's absolutely not something I'm going to get engage because it's fill with volatility and most shitcoins doesn't skyrocket to the moon at the end of the day but some actually make bullish runs which I've vowed never to missed out on these prominent shits projects.

I always recommend Rotki every time anyone asks what is a good and private cryptocurrency portfolio tracker. It is a project that is open source with a freemium model. Also, the application itself is fully local so the data is only saved on your devices. One consideration for your requirements is that the free version only allows you to watch the total networth graph for 2 weeks. And to be honest, the free version works pretty limited compared to its premium model.

I appreciate you putting Rotki on my radar.  It was completely new to me before this, but I'm intrigued after taking a first look.  Being open-source and storing everything locally are big pluses in my book with how much I value privacy.

That said, I do have one question - do you think upgrading to premium is worthwhile considering how limited the free version is?  and  since it's open source I figured maybe there were some alt versions or offshoots you knew of that don't clamp down as hard on the non-paying users?

You are right there was a time when a investor was required to have a dedicated app for portfolio tracking. I am talking about a time which was like two years back. The technology has become so big that exchanges and website that you recommended have the ability to track the portfolio. I don't think an extra app needs to be installed to track investment. Look at at Binance app, if you have your investment on the exchange then it does perform as a portfolio tracking manager. The same can be seen on other big exchanges mobile app.

I used https://www.cointracker.io/ for a while, they have an app but I prefer the browser where you can add your addresses and build up the balance and then get notifications in your email or go to the site to see and edit the profile. There is also an option to add the public key and more. One of the things that makes it easy to track currencies and receive email notifications.

free CMC tracker  is best alt to cointracker.io

There are many websites which are being used to watch portfolio. Many suggestions you have gotten but I would like to prefer something new. Many users get the airdrop from that website you can use it and maybe you will be eligible for the 2nd Airdrop if you use it.
I am talking a latest version which is based on AI that is

https://www.arkhamintelligence.com/

By the way I am using this website you should use it. I join it in early phase and I got its airdrop worth of $170. I am holding that amount for the bull season and I really hope that this will go 10x.

The free CMC tracker is one of the best portfolio trackers that has greatly assisted me over the years in monitoring my investments and long-term held currencies across multiple wallets and different blockchains. It is an indispensable solution for any investor seeking to watch his crypto in one place, continuously track his investments' profit and loss rates, and monitor his wallet transactions. Coingecko also provides a similar service, but I feel that CMC is more user-friendly and advanced and offers more precise data features.

This portfolio tracker can be used on the CMC website, or better through the phone application, and you can give it access to notifications so that you can be more attentive to all the updates that occur in your investments and watchlist currencies.

I am curious: why do we need a portfolio tracker? Aren't we holding funds in our wallet? Can't we check everything there? Why do we need external apps for that? However, if you still need a portfolio tracker, then just buy a hardware wallet. So together, you will secure your funds and monitor your portfolio without connecting your wallet. Most hardware wallets have operating software where you can see everything. But for handling funds, you should do it on the device itself.

There are two good applications for tracking your cryptocurrency portfolio, that is
1. coinmarketcap app
2. coingecko app
but I personally more interested and recommend you to use coingecko app, because I prefer using coingecko app rather than coinmarketcap app.

Another platform I use that I find really convenient is cryptorank. I like it more than CMC and Coingecko due to its customizable option to manage your portfolio. People have different preferences for watching over their portfolio that's why they are using different tools and websites for that. I found everything I usually use on that platform and it is also free which is a must for me to use.

coinmarketcap application is my recommendation for tracking your cryptocurrency assets, because in my opinion coinmarkercap application is very easy and comfortable to use, besides that, everything that you want can be done in coinmarketcap application, so I'm sure you will definitely like to using coinmarketcap application.
Correct. For me personally it is also the best protopolio tracking application coinmarketcap because this mobile based crypto portfolio tracking application is the most popular at the moment. This application also has a website version which is very nice to look at. This application has been established for a long time and has a simple interface in my opinion where we can add the coins we want to track as well as the trades we have made to track our portfolio. Apart from that, with the CoinMarketcap application, we can monitor or view all coins that have been listed on various exchanges or that have not been rested on dxchange. We can search here to see the price and then look at the list of exchanges that have listed it to see how much supply there is of the coin we want to buy or even look at the history.

So in my opinion this application is highly recommended for tracking your crypto portfolio using coinmarketcap. Most of my spot coins are traded on Binance, so setting them up and getting important data for our Crypto coin portfolio tracker is also easy.

Yes, you are  right in this case, even though it is very commonly used, investors also always check and research the place, whether looking for price information or potential types of projects that have been listed. I usually find out on CMC only 2 points, the first is the type of coin and which market it is listed on, apart from other important information.

If the OP has entered trading in market Crypto, I think this data can also be seen in the stock exchange application that he has downloaded on his smartphone.

Coingecko for me.
Been using it for so long and never had a problem with the application. I think I also learned about it here in the forum but I forgot where was it. Who knows, maybe it's buried deep in all the threads here in the altcoin section.
But it's really helpful for monitoring the value of each coin and they have a wide number of listed coins in that application.
After that, you could add some widgets so there won't be a need to open the application itself. Sometimes it doesn't load due to maybe slow connection but a refresh will do the trick by force closing the application and re-opening it. It's been years that I have been using it, and even when I changed my phone that's the first thing that I installed because it's really a big help for me.

I've been used to using CMC for a long time, so I installed the Coinmartketcap application on my smartphone to track the crypto assets I own without needing to connect them directly to the wallet I own. although it is not practical, but I think it really helped me. Yes, maybe many people recommend other places to keep an eye on the portfolio we have, but personally, I am used to using the coinmarketcap application.

You can use Coingecko, there are also some good online Dapps like Debank and even Etherscan, especially for people that trade shitcoin this can help you manage your portfolio online. It is better with portfolio tracker like Coingecko because it is not public and there is no risk of being targetted by hackers.

Yeah. I use coingecko and that's the app I would have recommend. It's easy and safe to use to track your portfolio especially when you use the app instead of the Web. You can also add your exchange and Wallet holdings to it which makes it support both DEX and CEX holdings because you don't need to connect any of them.

Still using trading view and the ledger apps to simply monitor my holdings and still use coinmarketcap to further monitor the current trend of the market. It’s always good to monitor the market so you can know what action you will take according to your strategy. You can just monitor the exchanges, or have the other apps whatever you prefer just make sure you don’t expose your wallet information to any apps and be sure that the apps is legit so you can be safe.
