A visual/video would be the best idea of it. Since you're making a game, create a video that shows how exciting the game you're developing. Attraction starts from seeing the visuals and design of the game. So I think you should hire really a great video editor or maker for the fun game that you're building then goes the marketing through social media which has been said by bitmovr.

I kind of like the TikTok marketing concept where you start watching the short video, thinking that it is just another TikTok video and then it turns into the marketing of a new game or product. It is not intrusive and it is immersed into your TikTok experience... also if you do not want to watch it, you simply swipe!

Also get people to Live stream the game play on TikTok.. because it stimulates questions in the chat. (Example : What game is this... How can you earn money with this etc. etc..)  Wink

Let's say, hypothetically, I am an indie developer who is developing a really fun NFT game. What would be a pleasant, yet efficient way of marketing ourselves? What's a strategy that wouldn't immediately make you go "SPAM ALERT"?
Develop a game that is actually worth playing. Trash tons of games out there on NFT look like kids games and do not appeal to a more mature group but provided the fact that majority of gamers have the mindset of kids, they get attracted to it anyway. You should get yourself a marketing team, but for an indie developer this might be a tough spend at first. However if your game does something unique that other games have no done, you will get a bigger followership - even if you dont do that and your game is just another generic one, follow the community and try to listen to their requests, then you can grow a niche group of people who are going to remain loyal.

How would you wanna see crypto marketing evolve in the future?
It is already evolving but in a bad way. Currently the social media spam is too much such that people tend to start ignoring them. In a broader sense, no project is going to go long if their product is bad, how good the marketing maybe.

I would say that WOM (Word-of-Mouth) marketing is the most acceptable, and possibly, the most effective. You cannot force a sale. People have to want to buy your product. So the best thing you can do is to give your customers the motivation to want to buy your product. Make it the gift that keeps on giving. The biggest gift is to keep your customers coming back for more.

Once a customer is onboarded, one of the best ways to attract a new customer is through word of mouth. Build the trust and the reputation of the company by letting your current customers know that they can always count on you and your team to deliver high quality service and quality products. By giving them referrals, you can increase your chances of retaining and acquiring new customers.

Marketing is a science and an art and therefore even if you have done everything well, you will need some art (thinking outside the box) in order to make a profit.

NFT tokens are hybrid now and a lot of hype around them so it is easy to gain followers and many sites have excellent programming interfaces that allow the user to create and manage tokens without technical expertise.

 - In short, like any project, there is a risk factor and you need to manage it in order to make a profit.
 - Any delay may not be beneficial and rushing may mean wasting money.

How do you know that is really fun NFT game? Is it your personal opinion, from your friends or do you get feedback from a large number of people who tried your game?
you should definitely somehow attract people to try your game. bitmover gave good advice, give some gifts or freebies for all new users to try your platform.

Marketing is a huge and complex industry and it has its own direction, whether it's crypto or anything else. it is not possible to get a short answer as to what are the best practices and how to achieve a good result.
Unfortunately, even if you (me also) does not like exaggeration on social media they are a very important segment in marketing. just think that a huge number of people have a device in their hands every day on which they follow one (or more) of the social networks.
and yes, hiring a marketing specialist is the probably best and cheapest option.

How would you wanna see crypto marketing evolve in the future?

Basically, you will need to spend some money. Hiring a good marketing specialist might be a good idea.

I would try to create social media accounts and create good content.
You can try to create a campaign here in bitcointalk, pay users in BTC to promove your project.

You can also give freebies such as free NFT for users who try your platform and give some review.

Create a good website, make press releases in good cryptocurrency websites, etc.

I am a gamer at heart, and I love the newly-risen concept of Play 2 Earn NFT games. But there's so much noise on social media with startups trying to market themselves, it makes you appalled.
