This is one of main reasons why we have a magical merit system.

This is why I reckon all airdropped merit and the ranks they've awarded should be erased. This suggestion didn't go down too well citing worthwhile old school accounts being demoted. Since they've done nothing worthwhile for several years I don't see the problem but others disagree.

Selling Legendary Rank bitcointalk account is not prohibited but heavily frowned upon, as per the rules mentioned by DdmrDdmr's post.
Yes, account sellings and buyings are allowed, but they are discouraged. It means people don't like bought accounts, because those ones can be used for shady intention, such as creating threads of scam projects in order to increase level of credibility with high rank accounts. Addtionally, it is easily to trap newbies to accept deals of exchange by using high rank accounts. In fact, there are no one buy low rank accounts, and it is a point.
Moreover, with merit system, now high rank account without single earned merit looks less valuable, in my opinion. Because a newbie or junior member with a single or bunches of merits is more interesting than a Hero or Legendary member without one earned merit.

Buying and Selling bitcointalk accounts would only make the buyer and seller lazy enough to achieve the rank personally rather than buying an account that the result can cause a spam in the forum which I did notice that some Legendary rank account is spamming in this forum. I am sure that some of you guys did notice a legendary rank that only post spam. (Not All Legendary Rank, only the legendary rank account that has been sold and bought).

Once a man, twice a child!
A fair price? That would be an arm and a leg. Perhaps the body organs could also get into it.

And you want to become a legend taking the easy way.
Well, after reading this I don't think the forum can benefit in any way from you. Please leave, and stay away from the women.

I believe that you are from Nigeria, and you are a farmer. As a Guy working in IT sector i can say you that dont invest in such assets which are meant to pass the line quickly. You earn money by hard work toiling day and night in farms, your money is not worth of such accounts.

Lol sad to say this but if he was in one of those signature campaigns, he would make a lot more than doing hard work all day in a field.

There seems to be quite a bit of automated resentment against people in less developed places making good money on here, as if it's some sort of cheating.

I've never really got it. If you're in the right campaign here and make the right moves you could be making more than your local police chief or heart surgeon.

That's to be celebrated in my eyes. Of course if you're doing it by mindless shitposting that's not good but you're not going to last anyway.

For sure the Account getting an negative red tagg if there is an proof that the Account has got changed the owners and others can see that !
Also its possible that the account get banned because the most dont check the post history of the account if it has some copy and paste things in it !
Shame on the people that have to buy an account for expecting to get more with it at some Sig. Camps or bountys.

I've seen there are people in meta now actively responding to account sales and leading them on to reveal and tag them. Even if you manage to buy one the chances are it'll be outed and nailed.

If you've got one and don't give a shit then take the money and run. If you're looking to buy one the chances are now high it'll wind up tarnished.

Wow, it's crazy cheap. I thought that after release of Merit system account prices increased a lot and Hero/legendary account costs at least $1000. Now it become much more difficult for account sellers to farm accounts. Maybe it's even impossible for farmer to build Legendary account from zero. And it's another question how many of account sellers really hold these accounts, because I suppose many of them are just trying to scam buyers.

There's really only two types. Properly built up accounts and farmed ones. I doubt many real people would let go of theirs and if they did it would be sniffed out very quickly. Farmed legendaries must be out there in decent numbers but I'll bet many of them plagarised so may wind up getting nuked.

I have no idea what is the market for used forum accounts, but if you think the prices are low it may be because of the risk that the account will receive negative Trust feedback and/or flags. It may also be recovered by the previous owner saying they got hacked. Newbies reading this, don't waste time with other peoples' accounts, you'll have no account and no money if someone else can prove ownership Wink
There are quite a few account brokers that are now willing to sell a private key to a staked address along with the e-mail account. Although the previous owner could attempt to get the account back by retaining the staking private keys, once a dispute ensued with two people able to stake the same address, the disputed account will be next to worthless.

I don't think there is fair price for legendary account. Fair price is when seller can find buyers for a price that he set. Personally I wouldn't sell my account even for something like $10k or $20k.
I agree with @CryptopreneurBrainboss, it's obvious that OP is troll or throwavay account.
Not saying I support you doing this but you can get them for like $200-300, dont overpay.

I would like to join but when I try to add the signature in my profile it do not work.  Can someone help? Really could use some extra bitcoin right now.
Better find another place in forum that can bring you profit like social media or other bounty related works

The guy probably had a sudden change of heart after saying this:
I am still grateful for the cryptocurrency and what it has brought me but this forum is not the best place for me to be.  Too many racists.  Remember all humans started out black.

I'm not sure but he probably can't spend a lot of time to engage with the community due to lack of money paying for internet subscription. Ironic isn't it?  Grin

What do you think is fair price for Legendary rank Bitcointalk account?
It will cost you a little about 2-5 red trust from DT and couple of negatives from random users

If you can’t earn from Signature campaigns since you have posted this recently

About 1 Nigerian Naira. If you can't preserve the posting style of the account, it will become valueless pretty quickly

This is just a troll, the user is just searching for attention and his post history says it all. His choice of username is one of those reason I doubt he has any intention of contributing positively to the forum. Normally when users choose specific type of username it's because they have intentions to troll the forum, in this case panting the country in his username more bad.

He's just a spammer and now wants to be paid to spam through yobit signature with higher account which is why I'm strongly against the yobit signature not just because of the exchange shady behaviors but because of their poor management skills, employing spammers to spam the forum just for the sake of promoting their exchange.

If you needed to purchase a Legendary account instead of growing one yourself, it's highly likely that you don't have enough knowledge to join reputable signature campaigns anyway, so you might as well forget it.

What do you think is fair price for Legendary rank Bitcointalk account?
Let’s go to the basics first. Why would someone want to purchase a Legendary account?

Well, likely, amongst the reasons we’d find:
a)   Want to join campaigns with a high rank, and get paid more.
b)   Incapable of building-up an account (no skills, time, patience, fast lane pass lover, lazy, etc.)
c)   Want to scam people, and that is easier to some extent with a high ranked account, since lower ranked accounts tend to trust them more.
d)   Want to have a sort of status, inherent to a high rank.

Now for the forum’s stand: account sales are not prohibited, but heavily frowned upon, as per the rules.

Now for many people’s stand on account buyers and sellers:
a)   Scammers.
b)   Jump-the-line dickheads.
c)   Scammers (again).
d)   Cheats.
e)   Untrustworthy.

And last but not least, potential consequences:
a)   Get scammed when performing the purchase of the account (i.e. no goods delivered).
b)   Receive an inherently tainted account, acting as a time-bomb with plagiarism or such buried within, that may get you banned at any point in time.
c)   Receive negative trust from DTs and others (whether it is a Trust issue is another matter, but the Negatives have been handed out like candies for this).
d)   Get rebutted in public, lose credibility tied to the account.

Now to the question: what is a fair price?

My personal stand is that account sales should not be permitted, and anyone caught should be banned (difficult as it sometimes may deem to determine). That would give a clear non-ambiguous scenario for dealing with account sales, and not having a duality that leads to Trust being used for what is was not intended for (with no consensus on that either). Grey area.

A fair price to me should therefore be a permanent ban. I’ve built my account from scratch, as the majority, and it requires bags of time and a bit of effort. I don’t like fast-track passes here, and there is no self-esteem thrown into the ring when purchasing one. That is a fair price to me.
