It didn't actually matter if you were going to use, or not going to use it. A simple DYOR, and reading about it, would have been enough.

If a user wants a simple mobile wallet for the iPhone, without extra features - just mere simplicity, then I suggest Blockstream's Green: A Bitcoin Wallet. I downloaded it again.

Plus don't listen to those people, the Flat-Earthers of Bitcoin, who tell you not to use Green Wallet because "Blockstream evil". The wallet is actually very good because of it's simplicity and good UI/ UX. Their developers are also part of the best in Bitcoin Land.

I'm using the Coinbase Wallet, it's self custody, a continuation of the Bread Wallet (BRD). I think they were acquired 5 years ago.

It works well and has the advantage of tying as much as it can into the Coinbase ecosystem. It's still self-custody and I find it usable. It's not supporting lightning of course. (but then most lightning wallets do have some limitations, either they aren't really using lightning like Muun, or receiving constantly fails with Phoenix. Those are the two I tried and I could be an outlier having bad experiences with these)

Actually for lightning you could use your own node, that's what I'm doing. But it of course gets a bit more complicated then. I run LND and have a few scripts that can generate invoices and pay invoices, nothing fancy. you have to have a server running at leaset while transacting, which could be a problem and you will need to have access to that server.

I haven't explored the ready-made solutions like Raspiblitz or Umbrel yet.

Even on macOS they don’t have a version for Apple silicon and you have to use the version designed for Intel macs that is not fully optimized for newer hardware. They are still a very good wallet but there are more modern alternatives that can take its place on operating systems where they are not available or only have partial support.

I am not iPhone user so I can't say from experience what wallet works best on this devices, but I heard good things about Nunchuk wallet for iPhones.

Many users and myself have recommended Blue Wallet, and I use it as a companion app for my airgapped setup, but it's worth noting that Blue Wallet has consistently failed to pass the last test by WalletScrutiny for quite some time now. The source code is available, the software can be built from source, the script WalletScrutiny uses succeeds, but the binary doesn't match the published source code.

Perhaps this is something that the Blue Wallet developers have discussed in the past. Anyone?

OP you have gotten enough recommendations if really you are looking for a wallet which you want to use in your iPhone. hugeblack has made good recommendations. And if you look at all the recommendations, you would discovered that Bluewallet is frequently recommended and most of us are using bluewallet and had used it. As a newbie it is good you use bluewallet and if you will like to use another wallet later then it is up to you. And from the recommendations you have gotten, you can lock the thread because it is repeating comments will appear. I wish you all the best in the forum.

Yes, the blue wallet may be the best option for iPhone Users however I just wondered why Electrum didn't have support for the iOS ? Aren't they missing out on a large user base who are iPhone users? They have a wallet for MAC OS but no support for iOS? This is very strange.

By the way, it is never safe to store your bitcoins on any phone wallet. I only store a small portion of my Bitcoin on my phone that i need often and the rest is always on the cold storage.

I vote for BlueWallet as well. Simply the best Bitcoin hot-wallet for the iPhone.

OP, although I haven't used XVerse and UniSat for the iPhone, I recommend that you try them too as a hot-wallet. You'll be downloading/installing one of them as soon as shitcoining in Bitcoin becomes VERY POPULAR next year. The Runes market have seen some small surges in volume during November.

Vulnerable in what sense? Blue Wallet is password-protected like most other wallets. The thief will need the password to be able to run it and spend the coins. Is the iPhone perhaps storing something from Blue Wallet in the cloud that could become accessible to the thief and allow him to steal your coins?

Otherwise use Bluewallet like the other posters mentioned. Although it will be vulnerable if the phone is stolen.

I like Phoenix too much lately both for LN and On-Chain transactions.

Pros: self-custody, easy channel management etc.
Cons: relatively new

Since I keep only trivial amounts on my phone, I change wallet software quite often, because I like experimenting with new features and ideas.

I 've tried BlueWallet too which is fantastic.

I don't really like BS Green personally, cause I remember I couldn't use it for multisig view-only mode.

I used to use Wallet of Satoshi too, which is full-custodial but again, for small amounts it does the job quite well. It's also very fast since Wallet of Satoshi's LN nodes have a huge connection network ^[1].

Finally, I used to use Muun but I don't really like it. It's very easy to use though.

Both Mycelium and Blue Wallet are compatible with the BIP39 standard. That will allow you to import the same seed into both wallets. But keep in mind that if you replicate the same seed across multiple wallets, you increase the possibility that something might go wrong. The attack vectors increase each time you enter your seed into a new wallet. With each seed import, it's now a new software that holds your digital keys.

Compare it with physical keys to your home. Having one copy is different from having 5 keys for each family member. Each of those keys could get lost or stolen.
Alternatively, you could generate a new seed with Blue Wallet and send all or some of your bitcoin from Mycelium to it.

Yes. But I will advise you to create a new wallet instead and send the coins to one of the addresses generated on the wallet created.
