2 Resources that I know can give knowledge about Bitcoin for me.

1. Youtube - We know already that Youtube is the one of the best place to watch videos. When I'm learning the basics of Bitcoin, I downloaded some videos there and watched it once a day or twice so that I can learn something everyday. Maybe you can do it to your friends.

2. Bitcointalk forum - We know too that this forum is full of information about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. I think what your friends must do if they want to gather information here is to use the search button and be patient.

Maybe it's good idea to start with Wikipedia articles. Just read them twice! ;-)

What about the bitcointalk? Since you are already a member here maybe you could ask them to join here. The Beginners Section is friendly with learning all the workarounds and the can post with their questions (providing that it isn't yet asked/answered)

How about Andreas Antonopoulos?

I think this guy is very good. Certainly one of the most successful speaker about BTC.

In an ecosystem where there are so many scammers, so much misleading information, hear a someone like antonopoulos is amazing.

Here is his book, for free. It opened my mind:

If you said that you have non-technical friends, as in computer illiterate other than Facebook and Instagram and whatnot, then forget about sending them walls of text, they will not bother. The only hope is that you send them some of the already requested options like Andreas A stuff which is easy to understand because he is a great speaker, then it's all up to them if they have a curiosity for it to dig deeper or not. Chances are they don't, unless they have a background on either economics or computers/cryptography and they probably don't. That is why we are still early adopters.

Check out Coindesk's A Beginner's Guide to Blockchain Technology[1]. It's a sort of guide compilation of bitcoin's basics; with a good number of content. This is one of the resources I've used in the past hence the reason I always endorse it even though I don't have any incentive to do so.
