Paper burns, what is a super creative way of keeping cold storage?

Super creative? You can stick with paper, and just laminate it for added protection. Keep in a fire-safe place to avoid the laminated paper getting burned.

why look for complex way if you can do this

as long as its serves the purpose.
Why not? Its fun to do new things with your bitcoin!

Hide them in a painting or in a bunch of multi step riddles Da Vinci Code style:

Unless you have Robert Langdon, you ain't getting my private keys...
A couple posts about the multi step riddle and they are all interesting, I remember a art collector hid millions in paintings and has a riddle to solve them, would be really cool to se someone do this in bitcoins

Base 6 format private keys are 99 digits in length using numbers 0 - 5.
What comes in sixes??? Vowels!
Pick out a novel, a classic book that will never go out of print.
Then choose your special chapter and start counting vowels.
A=0 E=1 I=2 O=3 U=4 Y=5

"It was the best of times it was the worst of times"
=
"0113212013321" and so on

After 99 you will have a private key that you can never lose, assuming you can find a copy of that book.

I'm fine with having the private key engraved on a piece of metal and then store it like what you normally do with paper wallet. That relates to the ad posted earlier on this forum. Therefore, even though that doesn't qualify as being creative, at least you don't have issues such as house getting burned down or ink faded away that cause the private key to be lost forever.

Creative? Create a picture which includes a several step riddle which reveals the private key at the end. Get an oil painted version and hang it on the wall, for added security include several passwords that are part of the riddle but have to be given in order to find the solution.

Store it in a freezer, obviously...

But is that creative? How about in etched in metal and then frozen in the ice rink i've made in my backyard? I'm good for another month or so, then I'm fucked until December...

Etched in iron (or what ever metal has a higher melt threshhold), stored in a fire proof, immovable safe.

This would be protected against theft, fire, flood, death....
I am afraid nothing can protect you from death itself. I do not know what is the most creative way of keeping bitcoin in cold storage but I am sure that the best way it to keep it in the most inconspicuous way. As some old papers or book maybe. That way nobody would even notice it.

Not to protect me from death, but to protect my family from never being able to access my bitcoins when I die. That would be the worst, that they end up lost forever.

Save it in a freezer?
You said "cold" storage right? Grin

Just kidding, i actually don't save my bitcoins in a cold storage (not yet)
Maybe I'll go with paper wallet way, since it's traditional and simple Cheesy (but not really secure Undecided)

You can also announce your private keys in a public place like this forum and let them write it on paper, that way even if a few people get in a traffic accident and this site somehow shuts down, the private keys still won't be lost, and you wouldn't have to deal with a paper cut Cheesy

Some people may not think this is very creative, however I am pretty sure very few people do this. I would use a silver wallet to actually store bitcoin in. This is contrary to what most people use their silver wallets (and most other physical coins) for - as collection items.

Although this is technically a paper wallet, it is still somewhat unique because few/no people use their physical coins this way

You could put your paper in a small fireproof safe. It might not live up to a nuclear holocaust but your coins might be safe in a house fire.
