i. How does Fragment method of transaction really work?
I have no idea about that but it's possible that it's a bot or any type of channel or website that they have made for their victims to visit.

ii. Has anyone experienced this method of scamming before?
iii. What's the trick here? How will it likely end?
It's the same as the scams of telling people that they've got some money in a trading website and you have to help them. And from there, you'll also be convinced to trade there and you have to fund your wallet. And you'll realize that you've been trapped and deposited your money on their own platform and there's no way out until you stop and block them.

Some few days back, I received a message from unknown person offering to buy my Telegram Username for 700 TON which is equivalent to $3,990. If you are greedy type you'll easily fall for their trick.
"Too good to be true" offers to target greed people are most popular scam method. If you know about this trick against scammers, and can control your greed, you are safe from scammers.

To be on the safer side, you are not supposed to click on a link sent to you by a stranger; in the first place, it could be a phishing link attack.

Some scammers don't necessarily need you to send them money first before you fall victim to their scam by clicking on the link they send to you alone; you can endanger your personal data and everything that's located on the gadget you use.

In the cyber world there are so many types of fraud, and the most common is theft of personal information, and financial fraud.

From the case above, I think it includes an attempt to financial fraud and steal access personal information from the op, right? I don't really understand what will happen when we click on a phishing or suspicious link, but fortunately I have never encountered it, and I think we should avoid conversations and try to click on links from unknown people's posts, because it is too dangerous, especially for lay people.

Recently I heard news that there is a Bot Cloning from safeguard and this is very dangerous. Basically Safeguard is a bot that secures our account, be it for telegram or discord. The danger is when we use the bot incorrectly, and instead use a clone. So we need to check again whether the bot we are using is safe or not and of course we have to check from the official party.

From the amount the scammer is willing to pay for your telegram account you already know that he is a scammer because why will someone be offering you $3990 for a telegram account if he doesn't want to use it to scam your friends because that's exactly what most of them do when they take over someone's account. You are lucky that you are familiar with this trick otherwise clicking on that link would have giving them access to your wallet, never entertain scammers for too long on your space because they usually have a unique way of trying to act like they care just to gain your trust before doing what they plan to do. The telegram space is filled with so many scammers if you don't know someone who is suggesting a business opportunity to you I think you need to block the person or face the risk of being scammed.

So, I have some few questions;
i. How does Fragment method of transaction really work?
ii. Has anyone experienced this method of scamming before?
iii. What's the trick here? How will it likely end?
i. Read this about Fragment
Quote
Fragment relies on TON blockchain technology for fast, secure and anonymous transactions, allowing you to exchange Toncoins for goods and services.

To make payments with Toncoin, you will need to set up a wallet – think of it as an app that holds your funds and lets you interact with other users and apps on the TON blockchain, including Fragment. Once your wallet is set up, it can hold the Toncoin you purchase, ready for you to spend on Fragment and similar exchanges.

ii. No, I haven't experienced this scamming method because if you text me on Telegram and I don't know you, I'll BLOCK you immediately. I am always on defensive mode.

iii. It will end with the scammer blocking you as soon as they receive the TON in their wallet.

I was actually too busy and we were not able to get to the end of the drama. Now, his account is showing deleted account on Telegram. So, I have some few questions;

First thing is you have no business actually conversing with this user, prolonging the chat is to me a waste of time and as I have recently find out the scammer can be the first to report your own account as a scammer before you do that to his own and you might lose the account.

Fragment that I know isn’t made for such transactions, fragment is a site used for purchasing of telegram stars which can be used for premium account subscriptions or other in app purchases on telegram, or also it is a website where you can buy unique usernames or business numbers for yourself, this things can still be bought for someone from your own fragment accounts. My guess is either the scammer gave a phishing fragment link to lure you into connecting your Ton wallet to drain them or they want to lure you to actually purchase any of the fragment services for them

For quite some time now, I have known Telegram to be a scammers eden and I'm always careful dealing with unknown person there. Some few days back, I received a message from unknown person offering to buy my Telegram Username for 700 TON which is equivalent to $3,990. If you are greedy type you'll easily fall for their trick.

I already know it's a scam trick but I pretended and played along to know which format it is this time around. After some chit chat with the unknown person, I agreed to sell the Username. I asked about the payment process and he made mention of FRAGMENT which I'm not actually conversant with. He asked me to fund the wallet with 35 TON (5%) of the agreed amount he's offering to buy my Username. At this point, I'm certain it's definitely a scam and become extra careful.

To cut it short, he sent me a link to click and proceed with the transaction. I never click the link thou but I previewed the link and the details are shown in the screenshot below.
