Most favourite altcoin? Well, that's automatic, I don't think someone is beating ETH in the altcoin market.
With its continued innovation in smart contracts technology and development of decentralised applications, nothing is more consistent than ETH.

I'm also using XRP because of it's low transaction fees. Also, BNB for my Binance transactions, also looking forward for this coin despite of all the issues and drama with Binance.

Yea, but there are some of those shitcoins that have been in my wallet for more than two years now, and they are just worthless. In some cases, the project owners can just decide to swap the coin and ask you to pass some KYC, which they will not even verify until the period is over. I don't doubt that there could be some altcoins that can, luckily, boom the investor, but it's all luck. If you are not lucky, that means my assets have just been wasted.
I also still have those shit coins, I think there are more than 10shit coins that are in my wallet.  Grin Grin Grin
And what they mean is shit coins that I bought in the previous bullish era, not shit coins that were sent randomly by scammers. Just imagine. I don't know whether the price of these coins will still have a price or whether it will increase again or not. Until I don't care anymore. This has been a super valuable lesson for me. In fact, I have attended the Binance launchpad several times and those are some of the shitcoins I got from there. I don't know if it will actually increase again or not. Once again, if we are aware of these shitcoins, then we are really aware that it is a risk for us and there is no need to worry about it anymore. Just make it a valuable experience so that later you will be more careful. What this means is that it is better to focus on Bitcoin which is relatively more profitable.
I am on the same boat, like many users here there was a time in which I believed altcoins had a brighter future and something good could come out of them, and while there are a few good altcoins out there, we must also recognize they are the minority and the majority of those altcoins are worth nothing.

However while it was a painful lesson at the time, I also learned from my mistakes and now regardless of the promises the developers of those coins make I simply ignore them, since I know they are just lying in order to get more people to buy their coins.

There are 1000's of Alternative Crypto-Currencies out there, but which one do you actually use?

Post your favorite Altcoin below and tell us why you think so.

I am just going with Ethereum, I guess, because we know Ethereum is the most stable altcoin among others. And the profit it gave was greater than any other coin. Because in the future, Ethereum will have more scope than Bitcoin. I know some traders and my friends who are holding more Ethereum than Bitcoin. The major reason for considering Ethereum is because of the advanced version of block chain technology compared to the Bitcoin block chain. The transaction time is shorter, more user-friendly, and there are more transactions at the same time as compared to the Bitcoin block chain. Maybe in the future, invent a better technology than now to resolve the current default.

I have sentimental fears for altcoins as they aren't reliable and their future is not potent to submit ones portfolio into it for a long time Investment plan. For those that have felt the pangs of altcoins will have a fine perception about my fears for that I have made peace with bitcoin avoiding all altcoins by all means.  There's a lot of hype with ethereum and that's because of how it's been closely following bitcoin and  the versatility it's gaining despite that, I won't put my two cents on it it's still an altcoin.
When you say that, it seems there is only one altcoin you see, or you think all of them are the same. But that was wrong. Like the OP said, there are thousand's of them. With that huge number, I'm sure there will always be altcoins who are performing better and can be trusted for more years to come because they already have an experience.

Investing for the long term, is not taxing in the body. We don't want to invest hundreds of cryptos here but 2 or 3 good cryptos can do well already. And even if you only invest in Bitcoin alone, that won't still give you a peace of mind if you are worrying about your investment. So don't be too confident about that.

If it is what I use, I use these following altcoins either for transactions and for my own personal holdings;

  • ETH
  • BNB
  • LTC
  • Doge
  • Polygon
  • Tron

I've got a lot of them but they're just dust amounts so I won't mention those because they're like a total garbage on my portfolio.

Shitcoins when lucky can change our lives, it maybe a shot to the moon but if it hits, it will make a life changing profit.  So I also think that it does not harm to have some shitcoins that has huge possibility to be pumped.

Of the ones you mentioned, Polygon, Tron, Ripple, Bnb, and Doge are there, but the others aren't there because I'm accumulating a lot of cryptocurrencies. To be honest, I think this upcoming bull run has the potential to rise.

But if I only have a lot of money to buy Ethereum, I will include it in my priority list for DCA weekly, but I will probably also try to somehow have holdings. And it seems more okay than Bitcoin collect. Although I'm not saying it's bad to save Bitcoin, the chances of me making a lot of money are low if I compare it to other cryptos that also have potential in the future.

I like [UTK]  UTRUST because they bridge the missing part of cryptocurrency where they solve the disadvantage of the buyer by creating an escrow system that ensure that the buyer will not get scammed by the seller.  I also like Polygon because of the potential of huge profit when the altcoin rally.  Aside from these two I also like TRX, LTC, Doge and other altcoins that have fast confirmation and cheaper transaction fee.

Currently, I am not holding any of the favorite altcoins I like; the only altcoins I am holding are most of the shitcoins, which have little possibility of becoming valuable coins. Although I like BNB because of CZ Binance and the Binance exchange, the exchange is a very popular one, which makes the coin have better usability, and I think if the exchange continues to exist, the coin value will likely increase. Ethereum is also an altcoin I like because the blockchain is very popular and the majority of projects are launched on it. Next is Dogecoin; it's one of the meme coins I like, followed by Matic; the transaction fee is too cheap.

In my portfolio have several altcoins holding but regarding with many altcoin kinds Ethereum is the first standings of my favorite altcoin, believe or not only Ethereum is most potential altcoin and not waiting for longer time recovery and back to higher price. Just few minutes earlier with Ethereum above $2k and looks not difficult to earn profit for investing in ethereum coin. Second place for favorite altcoin is BNB, although price drop drastically from $300 and ever on $210 last several week ago but BNB still promising with current price raise above $250.

BNB still second place as favorite coin because get benefit when holding BNB can participant on launchpool project in Binance, stake BNB you can earn new launchpool coins and earn profit as holding assets then new coin arrive in our Binance account.

Each cryptocurrency has specific purpose and functionality so I really don't have a specific altcoin that would be best for me. In many cases, some of the altcoins mentioned above may be required to be used or used by many. However, I have needed to use altcoins like Tether and Tron in many cases. I like using such altcoins for quick editorial transactions. But if we notice that among all altcoins, Ethereum is an international essential multipurpose cryptocurrency. Ethereum was originally built on the Bitcoin blockchain.
I actually wished each altcoin had a real reason to exist, but other than to make money for the ones releasing that coin and for speculators to try to make money with it most altcoins have no purpose at all.

And as you may guess this means I do not really use a lot of altcoins, however by far the one that I use the most is ethereum as there are some services I use that do not accept bitcoin but they do accept ethereum, and other than ethereum I use stable coins from time to time as well, but I avoid holding them for long as you never know when the institution behind them could collapse and leave you with a bunch of useless tokens.

From the list you have provided ETH and LINK is the best project that can outperform it's previous bull cycle performance. Link have already shown significant growth after it's CCIP upgrade. LINK can be highly utilities by Blockchain interoperability to send messages from one Blockchain to others.

From outside of your list I am focusing on more narratives like RWA, web3, AI, Decentralized social media etc. I think all these narrative can perform extremely well in the upcoming bull cycle.

ETH is my favorite. This is the only alt coin which has the potential to give some competition to Bitcoin. It is evident from the fact that so many projects are based on this coin.
ethereum i think has the history of nearing the market capitalization of bitcoin its actually quite awesome. the fact that back then at around the rally ethereum is having its blockchain so congested that some people willing to shell out hundred of dollars just to pay for the fee speaks itself for the ethereum.
it was massively favoured by so many project that revolve around its EVM and until now ethereum has proven to be the most reliable altcoin to date with massive market capitalization.
I personally already bag so many ethereum at this point because i believe this coin gonna increase just right after bitcoin have a massive rally.

The choice between Ethereum and BNB was a tough one for me because I respect both of them. I choose Ethereum because I see it as the father of Altcoins. I know we now have other Altcoins on other blockchains, however, I still give due respect because Ethereum has been here, and it is even the first Altcoin to introduce a decentralized smart contract platform. And then it brought about the DApps we see today. BNB too has a lot of use cases. And both of them are also good for investment.
Ethereum is an extensive open source blockchain in cryptocurrency, there's strong team behind the projects and they're working effortlessly to meet up. Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of ETH, is interested on maximizing project profits and spreads. Are you contemplating whether or not to use ETH or BNB? The answer is undoubtedly ETH because it is a reliable project that has aided most traders and investors over the years, and its movement is closely monitored in parallel with the Bitcoin trend. Ethereum has gained enough footing to overtake BNB, Binance's native coin. ETH creates its own blockchain and is widely accepted in the system.

As if my favourite altcoin is still Ethereum. It has greater potential than other altcoins. Before the SEC allegations, I was a fan of Binance Coin, which is actually called BNB. Due to the massive dump, a lot of investors lost their funds in BNB, and still, it has been struggling to grow compared with other altcoins. Ethereum has a massive use case that is helping to grow it, and the biggest community is always backing it. Network fees don't matter for me, though they are still higher than those of other altcoins.

Solana (SOL) for sure.
Have been a very good investment for me so far, I have double the investment I did in Solana a couple of months ago.  Smiley
If I had the choose one ALT coin to go hard on for the next years it would for sure be Solana. I think Solana will climb much higher.
