I prefer to use Bitcoin for ecommerce, because I was a victim of credit card fraud and Bitcoin is so much better than any other payment option that I have used before.

I also buy food and snacks at some local food merchants with bitcoins that was converted from my entertainment budget, specifically for that purpose.   Grin

I spend 20% of all the coins I buy and I hoard the remaining 80%.  Cool

This might be ironic right now due to the huge price fluctuations, but bitcoin as a store-of-value. I'm very positive that with time, I assume bitcoin will attain a stable price; it's pretty much just a matter of 'when'. People will realize how good bitcoin is as a store-of-value(and as a currency), only when they actually experience economic crisis in their country. Of course using a store-of-value currency like bitcoin would kinda be pointless for people in countries like the United States, but for people in countries going through an economic shitstorm like Venezuela, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are a godsend.
Due to its nature I don't believe Bitcoin will attain a stable price any time soon. I do agree with you and I also use Bitcoin as a store of value right now. It's like the gold of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin isn't going away anytime soon, and if you haven't bought at the ATH of 20k then from where we are now ,you can only go up.
I know that's not how Bitcoin was supposed to be used, but at the moment it's the smartest thing for me to do.

despite the word "cryptocurrency", they are not used as currencies apart from bitcoin. in fact majority of altcoins are not even created to be used as currencies hence they are not capable of doing so. they are instead created for pump and dumping purposes so that is what all of us are using altcoins for, even if some of us don't like to admit it!
there are some good ideas here and there among them too which can be seen as another usage of them which is exploring other areas of blockchain technology. but the cases are so few.
that only leaves bitcoin which has multiple purposes, the volatility provides a good asset for trading and making profit. the security and decentralization of it makes it a good store of value, and its design makes it a good currency.

I don't how weird this may seem but my most used cryptocurrency is Ethereum and my major use for it has been gambling, I'm not a gambling addict and I could have my Ethereum for several months or most times even convert my fiats into ETH not and decide not use them, but more often than I used it gamble on decentralized betting platform, and convert into BTC when I'm to gamble on BTC-only accepted platforms.

What would the websites be, or physical places you visit for your purchases?

About 90% of the times when I needed to convert fiat to ETH or BTC has been online, via Luno or Paxful (a peer to peer market place with variety of payment options) respectively, In my country there are not so many physical places where you can trade cash for cryptocurrencies.

What do you use cryptocurrencies most often for? If you thought about what cryptocurrency you use the most and what your favorite/most often use case is for it, what would it be? Obviously if it's private and you don't wish to share that's fine, I'm just curious to see what's being used and where people go most often for purchases, maybe pick up some new websites to visit for stuff I haven't found yet, or just share some places with other users who don't know many places to spend at.

We have a local wallet that allow us to use our bitcoin to pay for our bills, from credit card to electric, water and even internet and mobile phone load. So that's the best use case for me. I haven't try to purchase things online though, but I heard lots of websites accepting crypto like https://openbazaar.org/ and https://www.newegg.com/, and book flights in https://www.cheapair.com/.

Bitcoin.

I can pay for p2p trades and the popular one is paying bills and can pay for shopping online which is very convenient even the product's worth $2, it's good as paying it through COD.

I would prefer to use cryptocurrencies as much as possible, if I Have the chance. It's somewhat an action to support crypto and believe that one day it would replace fiat in the future. For purchases, like online shopping, we have a company here in the country that allows users to have crypto wallets and it is accepted in some online shopping platform. So I get to use some of my cryptos to buy stuff from there.

I don't think there would be discounts on common sites that is initially not crypto accepting shop. I have purchased a bag using crypto; ever since it was low price, I value that bag now. I bought it around 1200+ BTC back then. So it's worth more now than it should be, but I don't regret it.

What would the websites be, or physical places you visit for your purchases? Anybody offer discounts for cryptocurrencies or anything special? Like, what is the drive that gets you to get and use cryptocurrency for a purchase over a credit card. Special things you can only buy with crypto's or special discounts or anything, or just for the ease of transferring funds mostly?

----Edit---- Adding an edit here, thank you everyone thats posting.
***To all those that mentioned they make purchases for various things, would you care to share actual websites you visit? Sharing the names/links. The purpose of my post was to get people discussing about where they transact and to make a recommendation of where they do like to visit so that other users can see new places where they can transact where they've never known they could before. Which, if you look in this thread you can see there are quite a few people posting in just this thread alone  that don't really know anywhere at all that they can go to transact with their cryptocurrency's.  So to all who mentioned what they like to make purchases on, could you make direct recommendations of what those sites are that you like to visit?****

That was the purpose here, I gave one of my recommendations with Gyft  website.  So all of us to know where we can transact with our cryptocurrency's, let's help out those in this thread and that may read this thread find places where they can actually make purchases and utilize their cryptocurrency.
