One of my friend bought when bitcoin pricey was around $15000, he bought just on seeing my portfolio. The price began to fall and he planned to keep hold to retain the loss. To the expectation things went unexpected and price has fallen low and now we're around $5500. Hope at least within few months he'll get his investment back.

I know a lot of my friends who also bought during the bull run, they just came in late but I know they are not selling because I'm advising them that crypto will once again recover and we will be back to its high or have a new high. Once investors will understand that crypto investing requires patience, they would do it because the development continues and as adoption increases eventually a new bull run will arrive and price will pump.

Luckily i didn't but bitcoin when it reached the $20k price but if i am in your position i will just hold it until the next bullrun comes, because it's not worth it to sell at loss and you may repent if bitcoin reaches another all time high maybe double or triple of $20k a piece.

I want to ask everyone who got into bitcoin towards the end of 2017 and is currently at a loss, like myself  Sad What will you do when the market goes up and you get your money back. Sell or just keep holding?

At the end of the year 2017 , the price of bitcoin started to decline which means you bought your coins at a low price and if ever you continue hodling until today , you already earn a profit because the value of bitcoin has now greatly recovered  . now best thing to do is to sell for a sure profit or sell some so that you still have some coins left to hodl since the price is still expected to grow  . you can opt to buy and invest more when the value declines a little bit   .

Some of the bitcoins that I have with you and at that time hope to continue to increase but the reality decreases dramatically, and what I have done until now I still hold it and consider it as a limitless long-term investment waiting for prices to bounce back to the initial price before me have it.
and I also took advantage of the opportunity when in 2018 the price of bitcoin was under $ 4000 to buy it and add the bitcoin losses that I had before, and now bitcoin is slowly starting to rise and I have gained a little profit, but I will continue to wait for bitcoin to rise more high.
so for me there was no problem with the incident because I think if there is a decline there will definitely be an increase, the most important thing is to be patient to wait and stay optimistic.

For me, more than a year of waiting for the price of Bitcoin to go back to ATH is too long and if you invested that money or Bitcoin in something else, you could have recovered your loss already. I know someone who we're able to recover in 6 months after the price of Bitcoin started to go down starting 2018. He aimed for just 1.5% per day profits on all his investments after selling below his buy price of Bitcoin.

If your bitcoin bought during the bear market and until now you keep it extend your patience if you want your money back.
And obvious people can decide by their own self he/she want to continue to bought  bitcoin if they feel not enough amount.

It would not be so easy for bitcoin to attain it all time price high status again but even if it does it would take time my only advice to those that bought at that period is to hold on because any other thing would mean a loss

I think I would just hold the half and make some profit from the other half by trading.
We could recover our money if we do it right don't fall for the trap make sure to invest in the right alt-coin so your money wouldn't get way deeper than it is right now.
Holding half while you use the other half to trade is never the right decision if someone brought at ATH price of which the price is later below the price of purchase. The best thing to do in such situation is to hold all the coin while you start another new investment or trading at the dump price which will be the best means to make the profit you said.

- Selling them at %50 loss.
What?  That is a huge number of a loss if you do that thing.
If that is not urgent need you can hold and wait until your profit was there, in this situation you can apply to buy low and sell high strategy of earning in bitcoin. Nevertheless, Bitcoin is not an instant income if you are going to hold at the shortened time, you need more time to hold to see the real profit. OP was right just kept holding until your profit was there.

As long as you do not sell at $ 3200 there is no reason to sell for $ 6000.
Agree.

If you're still holding then no reason to sell.
Just hope you bought some below 4k to lower your average buy price.

There might be another scenario in case you've lowered your average buy price by buying x2 (or x10) volume, then you can sell a part of your actives when the current price will be above your buy price.

Yeah I bought some BTC when the price was $9300.00

In 5-10 years the price will be between 1-100 million depending on technologies and adoption.

Bitcoin is a long term security and investment IMHO.

Dude I'm pretty sure you couldn't be more bullish then that.

Also 1-100 million is quite a range...

What you need to know that every new ATH is bigger than the previous one, and my advice is to wait in case you do not need money. Last ATH is result of 20x increase in price, and if next can be at least 10x from current price you can double your investment Wink

I pretty much agree with this statement. Indeed during its whole history Bitcoin always surpassed previous ATHs, and there are no reasons to think that it will not happen again. IMO we are still far from the point when it would be right to say that Bitcoin can't go higher. I would agree if some one said that when BTC was $300k, but not lower than that.

I agree.  Now is not the time for dropping bitcoins.  Because most likely there will be growth.  Which is worth the wait.  Bitcoin fluctuates just at this time and soon everything should get better.

of course I don't want to lose, at the end of 2017, the BTC peak reached $ 20K. if you sell now. then you are stupid, and that is a very bad choice.

open your eyes and you should see the market. and now, traders are more focused on the BTC market. BTC continues to create bullish markets slowly. but I am sure that holding is a good decision.

The correct word to use is IF, not WHEN. I got some on the rise, it was looking good, but then... pop*. Was listening too much to the hype. Glad I only put in a few hundred dollars worth. So, to answer the question: IF Bitcoin reaches the bubble burst price point and keeps going, or even if it reaches to a point where I'd be making a profit, I may consider cashing out at a point where I'd be making up my investment + some profit, and leave the rest in for speculative purposes, cashing out at appropriate intervals. And as profits would be pulled out: tithe, charity, and invest in something probably other than Bitcoin (maybe some in BTC, depends on how it looks).

Have a great day,

That is the reality of crypto investment. Sometime we earn, sometimes we lose. Even though i didn't bought btc during end of 2017 ,i know if i was in that position maybe i will keep holding my btc and wait until market recover again as high as i bought it.
