Anyone who invested a decent amount of money during 2015- 2016 made a good return from the  market

The time of buying bitcoin doesn't matter if you sold it at wrong time. For example, I bought some ETH in 2016 for $8 each. Although it was good time to enter into Ethereum market but I sold them soon when ETH crossed $20. I was happy that I doubled my money in 1 month but in next 17 months, ETH rose 120 times and I was the saddest person on Earth.

Yeah, that's the benefit of being an early adopter. But had you invested some, you would be having more financial stability than you have now. Anyways good to see here and I'm just curious to know what brought you back to bitcointalk after 2 years  Smiley

I came back because of this thread Ideas and Thoughts for celebrating 10th Bitcointalk Anniversary in Indian board, a TG group is created and everyone is welcome over there.
I sold all of my btc in July 2017 and got busy in real life.  Now I came back to earn more.

Honestly, I came to know of Bitcoin as an easy way to increase your Fiat currency by investing in them in early 2017 but considering the volatility, I was a bit afraid that I'll lose my money if I invest in them. The first thing I did was microearnings through several faucets :/ Earned few Satoshi's but I wasted a lot precious time. I made a withdrawal of 50k Satoshi from Faucethub in June 2017 that would be my first Bitcoin. After wasting a lot of time in shitty airdrops and bounties, I quit those and started learning a little about Cryptos and made my first purchase of Bitcoins worth 10k INR and Ethereum worth 5k INR in Oct 2017 just before the massive Bull run. I have been a holder since then, and starting 2019, I started ocassional trading to increase my bitcoin portfolio.

My first investment in Bitcoin was not done by me. I had handed over fiat to one of my friend who gave me double if my investment in oct 2017. I asked how could he manage to do that then he introduced me to crypto. Few months ago now I brought BTC on my own.

I am suggesting anyone new from India to buy bitcoin in LBC because where you can't be scammed.

In year 2012 when bitcoin price was 600$ only.
I purchased 10$ Worth bitcoin only. It sold later In few months.
In 2012, bitcoin was worth $600/ each? Wasn't it lower than that? I'm probably mistaken since I have been lately introduced with bitcoin.
This reddit post shows price was $7 only and got pumped at 2013.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/38mlbr/bitcoin_price_june_20092015/

The price of BTC was never $600 till Dec 2013-2014 and before in July 2013 even I held bitcoins but sold it for cheap like $10 or even less. Looks like the user got the years wrong. It pumped to $1000 in Q4 2013: https://www.cryptoground.com/bitcoin-price-history

Thank you and that's what I was talking. Probably he had meant 2014 as he had joined here in that year. I didn't have so much knowledge from the past because I have come in this field recently.

LOL  Grin if you bought your first Bitcoin in 2016, it couldn't be on Binance.
You are confusing it with another exchange I think. Binance opened in 2017 as far as I know.
Or he was trying to increase activity for ranking up.
I was not sure when Binance was launched, thank you anyway.
Whoever bought bitcoin in 2016 are now having a huge profit. It was late 2017 when bitcoin got pumped hugely. I had received some payment from my client which give me a far better return than my actual salary was.

I was introduced with bitcoin through one of my clients. He asked me couple of times to receive payment via bitcoin and I was thinking what the freaking heck is this. Later, I have learnt more about it.
I didn't invest much on it, invested little in last couple of months. Before this, I had received some payment via bitcoin from my client.

In 2017 my cousin told me about a Bitcoin telegram hyip channel. At that time, I had no knowledge about Bitcoin or Cryptocurrencies. I decided to put my one-month salary in that hyip group and a few days later it turned to be a Ponzi scheme and I lost my money. This really disturbed me and I began to research more about Bitcoin. Even though it was a fail, that was my first Bitcoin investment.

My first bitcoin was of a remuneration received by me for providing content writing services to someone. I received it in Zebpay wallet and was confused on how to use it whether to withdraw it or to hold it. I remember BTC was 3000$ and that time and I remember that I decided to hold it and tada it was the start of bull run and my btc magically started to increase and I decided to receive all payments in BTC mode as remuneration for all my services. This worked fine until March 2018 after which I decided to come back on fiat.

I invested first time in 2017 when BTC was around $2500. I know about BTC way before it when it was about $200 but never trusted it.  One of my friends suggested me at that time to to buy one but I just ignored his advice. Then I suddenly realized about its growth and potential of it in may 17 and start researching about it.  First I was thinking of buying a miner but then I dropped that idea and bought around 0.45 BTC.

I got into the Bitcoin world back in 2012 but kept collecting coins via faucets and bitcointalk services. With the money I earned, I started gambling over Primedice and it was such a thrill to do so. It was right after 4 years, i.e. in 2016 that I first bought bitcoins to fulfill my Gambling fetish :3
Since then, I've bought a couple of times during bear run and am still holding onto them, waiting to ride to the m00n Cheesy

My first coin was back in 2011, but I bought for the first time in late 2012. Makes no difference as I didn't hold on to any of it.

My first bitcoin buy was in 2016 september and I'm still regretting about that I did not sell my bitcoins at 20000$ still I believe that it will cross it's ath sometimes and that's why I hold my bitcoins.

This has happened with many people who had entered at high value and thinking that it will continue to rise end up either selling in loss or need to hold til that price is achieved. Greed is something which if not control can case heavy losses at time.

See, there are many kinds of investment strategies but principally if you talk about the general population who don't much technical info in trading will tell you that there is only one strategy. Buy low sell high.
But that's the easiest one and practice it is impossible for any newcomer to find and identify the neckline in the trading curve.

There is another form of investment popularised by Richard Driehaus -who's considered the father of momentum investing.
Here, you simply buy high and sell higher. You have to focus on riding the wave and selling the losses and reinvest the losses in another stock. In traditional investing you'd eventually run out of "other stocks" to invest in, hence the lack of popularity for this strategy, but in crypto you have a gamut of choices you can invest in where the money will almost definitely rise .. eventually.
You just have to have balls of steel.

This happens when the people become too greedy and cannot digest the profit that they are making it and still want to make more and more money in less time. It was clear indication at times that when things rise too fast in short time it will be falling in coming time and this had happened exactly the same way.

Thats true, u should start liquidating when there is a chance and diversify your funds.
I bought my 1st BTC in mid may-june 2017 when it was around 2k-3k $ and i have liquidated every month since then for my expenses and other stuff and i never regret

When did you buy your first cryptocurrency? and when did you buy your first bitcoin?

I bought BTC for the first time in Nov.2017 when it was Rs.6L from Zebpay. Yes, I had bought in fomo, when it was on the verge of bull run.

My first purchase came in Dec 2017 when bitcoin reached 9.5 lakh in Koinex. Beat that sucker (sorry sir) I won Cool  but i started with very low amount due to my limited budget ( I am student)

Glad to hear that you were using bitcoin as a payment option, the sole purpose why it was invented.

Just curious to know, Which website were you buying the product from using bitcoin ??
