It is a difficult thing to like. Never understood why people enjoy alcohol.

At first I didn't like it. But after drinking it several times, I get used to its taste.

I personally know that beer tasted ugly when I was a young kid, and never understood how grown ups were drinking it.

Fast forward some years ago, I am chugging 3L of draft beer on a regular Saturday night.

But do you honestly 'chug' it because you love the taste or because of the way it makes you feel? I very much doubt most people would drink alcohol if it didn't get you drunk. Otherwise I think sales of nonalcoholic beer would be much higher. Personally I have never really liked the taste of beer much or any other alcohol for that matter, but I suppose it has got a bit more palatable as I've grown older, but I'd certainly never chose an alcoholic drink as my drink of choice to quench my thirst. I've only ever really drunk alcohol to get drunk otherwise what's the point? Similarly, I really don't think smokers smoke for the taste, do they?  Smiley

It's quite funny that I had exactly the same experience. I used to hate the taste of beer until I was around 15-16. Now I like it but I never drink more than about a pint of beer.

After drinking it overseas, I immediately get flash-backs to those great times when I take a sip.

When I started drinking beer when I'm in college, at first i don't like its taste.
I started "liking" the taste of beer after drinking a very very very cold beer.  Till then, college life was fun because of beer and friends.
Now, I occasionally drink beer with colleagues and some friends. Smiley
