I don't think prices have any correlation with the weather, as there is basically every season simultaneously throughout the world on any given day

If you look at online poker it always has an increase in activity in the colder weather (west).  West is still the one who will decide bitcoin expansion.

Maybe we could look at some graphs... price and trends after summer last few years?

FURring bitcoin up since 1762
People come back from their holidays. What's that old saying again? "Sell in May or you'll have to pay"... I think there really isn't much going on over the summer months, so even the honey badger has to take a break from all the work. Fall will bring rising prices (haha, how ironic Wink Wink )

Trust me!

Online activity in most departments goes up when it gets cold.  Next bubble incoming after the summer in the west.

It's simple: People will want to heat their apartments and houses. So they'll just plug in some 130nm ASICs and push them to the limit. They want the heat! I wanna see a graph of the hash rate and median temperatures of the northern hemisphere then!

Bitcoin's main demographic are tech geeks and the get-rich-quick traders who are online a lot even in the summer anyway.

Yes true i guess 2 things spring to mind... 1.) they still arent online as much, are you online as much on average when its hot?  2.) More newbies discover bitcoin with colder weather

If kiosks increasingly dominate, we may not see that effect quite as much YoY, assuming it exists. (unless the kiosks are added to many apartment complexes... Cheesy -- actually, now that I think about it, why don't many apartment complexes have "normal" ATMs, even?)

I've wondered if hashrate increases faster during cold seasons where BTC's widely mined, too. I'm partially pleased I haven't sold too many of my rigs... electric heating cost isn't too far off propane here, and it's nice to not need to even refill the tank until the Summer discount window.
