tomorrow... Nah just kidding, maybe segwit, the only thing we know is that an implementation is needed to solve the issue.

Once the system escalates to handle such amount of txns, many people are breaking their brains to solve that right now.

Users set the fees. If you don't want fees to escalate, then don't send transactions with high fees.

there is a lot of truth to this. bad fee estimation, and services assuming that next-block confirmation is required causes median fees to drastically increase. users should push back against exchanges and payment processors who use high fees. and users should start manually determining fees based on congestion and priority, rather than letting their crappy wallet screw over the fee market. large services and bad fee estimation by wallets (with help from spam attackers) are constantly front-running the market, pushing median fees higher and higher.

also, bitcoin isn't instant. it never was, and services should stop selling it as such. i wish we as a community could push back against this idea that bitcoin was invented for "instant, cheap payments." that's just some marketing gimmick from VC-funded bitcoin startups. where does it talk about this in the whitepaper?

if it's not instant, it can be cheap. or at least much cheaper than what people are currently paying.

The transaction fee in my blockchain wallet is $30 anyone know when it will become normal?

Me too  Huh I sent $120 worth of bitcoin a few days ago and it costed me $45 worth of fees, this is disgusting.
I dont have any problem about paying fees, because we know that it is needed, but why should i pay $45 of fees just for a transaction of a little bit more than one hundred dollars?? Why ??  Huh

Truelly this is annoying, when same happened to me, I tried not to put it into consideration, but when I was to send to my bitrefill around $30, I was charged $22 for my transaction fee. If there will be anyway to reduce the transaction fees, it should come soon.

Bitcoin fees are ridiculous. Holding is nice, but eventually people want to use it.

I hope someday transaction fees will moderate. It is too much costly specially in my case. I am just starting in bitcoin and it is too difficult to transact because before it will send, almost half of it will deduct to your balance.

Do what needs to be done.
Bitcoin fees are becoming really obnoxious! It turns out it's much cheaper to trade your coin for some other alt and move it and then withdraw that alt then doing straight with BTC. Crazy!!

this is due to an increase in the number of transactions in the block, so who want to speed up the transaction must increase the amount of fee. And the fee amount follows the current bitcoin price rate.

It will be solved when bitcoin starts to drop in value heavily while many people cry HODL . The sad truth is that Bitcoin is in the hands of a few large mining groups.

Define "normal"...
Back to 3$ back to 10$ back to...free?

The fees will drop when people will either switch en masse to segwit and thus making more room in blocks for more transactions or when they will simply stop paying more than 100satoshi/kb. But as long as some do, you will have to compete with them, and thus making the current situation....normal.

Are the high fees really due to the increased number of transactions and the blockchain becoming congested, or is it because transaction fees were always a percentage of the bitcoin price and it has become a problem now that the price is high? In any case, these fees are completely unacceptable and are deterring me from trading btc.

The fees have no correlation the the price.
We experienced 10$ fee when bitcoin was at 6k and we were able for a brief period to move funds with average 5$ while bitcoin was at 10k.
I am really curios whwt will happen during the 25/26 and 31/1 , probably we will see the lowest fees then, I'm almost willing to bet will see a close to empty mempool.

Sometimes it is really frustrating to pay such a high fee, or else the transaction will be delayed to get confirmed if we opt for low fee. Major upgradation is required to solve this problem and i believe that segwit will help to reduce this problem.

It may take a big step to change the amount of fees we pay for each transaction. At the moment, it's really too high for small deals and it is becoming a big obstacle for new investors.

The transaction fee is really a problem now. It is too high that I am having second thought transfering funds to the exchanges to trade. I hope this will be resolve soon.  I have this crypto that I am looking into investing and with the transaction fee, I am already at lost.

Either when they introduce 2 mb blocks or when other solutions like lightning network come live, though these solutions as I understand is still a long long way off. I think 2 mb blocks is the only option in the short and medium term to fix this as segwit on its own didn't change much.
