Never. Even the chinese dictatorship accepted Bitcoin under regulations. Some big people are working hard for a cashless society and of course Bitcoin would help.

And in some sense Bitcoin is better than physical goods if you want to create a catastrophe and slave everyone by surprise. Bitcoin works on Internet, if you unplug it then all Bitcoins are gone and you have nothing.

I don't see banks, waging war against Bitcoin. I instead see them adopting Bitcoin in order to remain relevant.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Now i never see any aspect of fight or war between bank and bitcoin.
But it is worried thing for bank, In future if people continuously using the bitcoin for transaction than may be bank take a step against bitcoin or may be bank share with bitcoin.
The main point is that bitcoin continuously give the people profit and in a lowest fee transaction.
People always prefer bitcoin than bank. In that moment bank will be done something for against bitcoin or may be not.

Banks are so big and well established that they don't have to worry about digital currencies. They themselves innovate and I am sure they are also considering making their own version of the currency and offer as a form of investment for their clients. But I think they are more interested in the blockchain technology, first and foremost, as the future of the data management systems.

I doubt that they will be going to start a war against bitcoin. Especially if the bank promotes innovativeness. They know that they cant win when they decided to oppose bitcoin. Instead they are just going to ignore it.
And after ignore Bitcoin, they will learning about Blockchain and apply it to their system.
Final, they can create new banking system use technology Blockchain can compete with Bitcoin in future.

The fight against Bitcoin by banks, I think the big chance it will not happen, I have not seen any signs that banks against Bitcoin. Many central banks around the world do not recognize Bitcoin, but Bitcoin's Blockchain technology is what banks are seeking as a top choice for banks to develop a system general payment. If this technology thrives, the costs of foreign exchange, remittance and other products are expected to fall sharply, which in turn would be of great benefit to banks.

i think they have to switch or they will miss the boat, but banks will try to slow down the process of switching from fiat to Bitcoin. They need time for adaptation.

No matter what they do to harm bitcoin even if they throw some baseless accusations like it is a perfect currency for money laundering and msy support crime or ruin it's reputation in mainstream media by being volatile currency. They can't stop bitcoins growth no matter how many hard fork they've done it will always fail like BCC/BCH. There are many conspiracy theories out there about bankers but it may seem that they dont see bitcoin as of now as a threat but who knows maybe they've already made their move and invest in bitcoin while it's still low lol

I know we are still at a start of cryptocurrencies, but bitcoin is growing with lightning speed right now and some banks already see it as a potential threat.
There has been a lot of accusations form banks, that bitcoin is perfect for money laundering and is used for supporting crime.
I think they can do a lot of harm to bitcoin market and they will eventually start with harsh campaign against it.
Do you think it will happen and when?
nothing impossible the bankers start war to bitcoin currency, the bankers industry insecure the popularity of bitcoins maybe in a few years the bitcoin legalized in the whole world to help the economy of every country and give the people the decent life that's my opinion aboout the bitcoin in the future.

Banks will see the value in the blockchain technology and try to get in themselves. They're not gonna try and destroy the whole crypto scene and maintain their old ways, because that's not gonna happen - it's widely spread already (still not mainstream, but more and more people learn about it everyday). Just this week, a bunch of companies started looking for programmers with experience in the blockchain industry (VISA being one of them). So they're trying to hop in, not destroy imo.

i think you are overthinking it. there are many people against bitcoin and many want it to not exist. but all they could ever do and will ever be able to do is to slow bitcoin down. the technology is out there and there is no way of stopping it now.

In the past there have been incidences where couple of banks suspended/closed a couple of user accounts because they were linked with bitcoin activity. You can buy bitcoins through all major banks using credit card without facing any repercussions, but yeah a few banks aren't that bitcoin friendly because they know that bitcoin might put banks on the run in the future.

With bitcoins popularity, the popularity of blockchain has also increased and banks might be using distributed ledger technology in the future for their banking operations, but still no impact on bitcoin.

One other possibility is some countries coming up with their own cryptocurrencies to discourage the use of bitcoin, centralized vs decentralized, still no impact on bitcoin.

I don't think banks would start a war against bitcoin anytime soon. The most plausible approach would be legalising bitcoin like Japan and thus enforcing some regulatory measures to prevent money laundering and other financial crimes.

I think there is no battle between bank and bitcoins .. because if bitcoin grows and is considered a currency then borrowers can also go to bank to borrow bitcoin and use them. At present, many banks also accept bitcoin and the government also has many supportive policies.

i think saying "many" banks accept bitcoin at this point is probably overstating it...

but its all changing fast that is for sure

I do not see any conflict with banks. You will still go to banks to finance your business, house or car loans. They have savings accounts but their main source of their income is loans. Even if bitcoin succeeds as a currency, banks can just add it as a new currency and loan people with bitcoin instead of cash. I do not see any problem with that.

this is true in the long run-- but i still think there is plenty of disruption involved for the banks along the way

I'm in the camp that believes it has already started long ago, and that at least some of the scams and website failures were attempts to undermine cryptocoins.

that is an interesting take on it to be sure!
hadn't thought of that

I don't think that they will combat cryptocurrency cause that's a battle they will never win Grin Grin  but instead they will try to control it, i even heard that China is launching its own national cryptocurrency and i don't know whether to feel good or bad about it Huh

I think its much more likely that banks will find a way to jump on board-- because to stop blockchain/crypto is essentially impossible.

its just like when proprietary online services (AOL, compuserve, prodigy, etc.) had to choose to either conform & use the efficiencies of IP in their platforms-- or be obsoleted by the collective force of the broad market

What war are you talking about?  Huh

There is none and there won't be any. Crypto is just an option for some other people who wish to stay away from banks in their transactions. That does not mean that there is really a war boiling. In fact, some banks are also investing on Bitcoin.
