My favorite part is seeing all the trolls that gave up and left the forum. Like Derp.

I forget how many there have been - come and go. A few months from now Fonzie and others will join the list.

Where are the "never/2014/2015+" options?

lol

These threads are always fun to revisit.

AHAHA true Tongue

Since voting ended after it hit that value, it's a little bit worthless looking back at people predicting the past.

$200 can fall any time and before long the all time high might look like a little jagged spike on the way up a much larger spike.

that was a pretty good call as it turned out.

Without regulation demanding that we treat all notional bitcoins as actual bitcoins, there's nothing stopping standards from developing where people simply refuse to deal with banks that don't show transparent blockchain operations. Right now all we can do is conjecture that Fort Knox has no gold, but with Bitcoin we can know for sure.

$200 can fall any time and before long the all time high might look like a little jagged spike on the way up a much larger spike.

Gold, silver, forex markets, oil S&P500 etc can all be manipulated by large banks armed with printing press but I feel that bitcoins is still relatively unmanipulated. In the future there may be bitcoin etf, large ripple gateways etc which can act as 'dark' stashes of bitcoins traded off the blockchain which will finally give banks the means to sell large volumes of bitcoins that don't exist (like they currently do with gold for example). Until that happens, enjoy a liberated free bitcoin market shining as a bright light amongst an otherwise almost completely controlled economy which is rapidly heading towards debt collapse and ruin.

How can banks sell Bitcoins that don't exist?

To state that "x" is not sustainable or that "y" is overpriced or that "z" is unrealistic shows an amazing amount of hubris. You could be right, or you could be wrong, but both have very little to do with methodologies and almost everything to do with luck. At this point I don't think anyone has a clear idea is going to happen one day to the next. Knowing this is likely the most valuable piece of information you can hold... knowing that in effect you know nothing.

Bitstamp, BTC-e, Coinbase and/or serious volume on LocalBitcoins? It may still take some weeks or months, you never know.

Mt Gox? Who cares, that's only Gox bux that are like Disney dollars that you can't withdraw. Grin

who care, you can  withdraw btc, if you  can make more of course

We've seen the rise from $15 to $266, now this rise came from a stable base at $120-130 so we can go much higher this time before a new crash/correction happens like we saw at $266.

This sharp rise cannot continue forever, be realistic...

there was even a gap (Bitstamp betweek 178 and 181)in the chart that has to close

The higher it goes the faster and further it will fall.

I hope for $200+ on all exchanges this week sometime. The resulting crash will be massive.

i've seen the sentiment mentioned that "if the price rises too fast" (and some say it has) that it will collapse back down.... thoughts on this?

Usually these predictions are wrong and likely too early when called.

Just like all of the same predictions that went on During Feb and March of this year.

Hmmmm. Options only go to December 31 of this year, eh? So we're definitely breaking $200 in 2013? What if $195 was the top of this rally?  Tongue

We are going to assault $200 again this week, we may break through this week or maybe it will fall back and we'll breath through next week instead.  I think it will probably happen this week though.  We might 'kiss' $200  this week and fall back again though, only then break through it again properly a few days or so again later.  Then we'll charge up to $250.

Never?  Mt.Gox was up to $195 just hours ago.  I would think that it is looking highly likely at this point.

About that...

:p. Sure it's still likely, but you can not be certain of it.
