$1 is ridiculous, $100 is unlikely.
If the price will drop to a sub $300 value there will so many bots/people buying that you will se a sudden increase in price.

Yes, if we go sub-$300 it'll be a flash crash with a giant bounce back above $400, IMO. I'll be buying like mad if we ever get near $260 again. Seems unlikely, though.

Last time it happened in btc-e it didn't even go under 100.
So it would have to be either a very dumb whale or someone typing a wrong number...

Probably never, too many people are invested to let it fall that much.

Why stop at $1? I thought the serious bears always said, "bitcoin to zero." Tongue My money's on never, but I have at least taken enough profits out that I won't ever have to say I lost net money on bitcoin, if it does.

I will never go lower than $500 again, probably not even $600

I don't agree. The price is in direct corelation with China market. One bad news from China makes more then ten good news from U.S and EU. One bad news from China confirmed by their goverment makes more then all the good news from the rest of the world (except if Amazon and Ebay start accepting bitcoin).

Last months we have several bad news from China but price sticked to ~450$ and didnt go lower.
Markets get used to bad news from China already.

or are free of random small Joes and remain heavily manipulated with bots trading the same coins from wallet A to wallet B without much change.

Probably never. BTC has created too much interest for it to drop that low.

I admit that it is possible for BTC price to fall significantly but not that much.
Realistically, I don't think sub-100 is even possible at this point.

When the world and all its communications and harddrive backups are destroyed or there are no humans left to utilize the system

Or I guess around 2050 if the protocol and security functions in the crytography are obsoleted and the developers branch off the old Bitcoin Clients into a new Bitcoin branch and leave the original chain abandoned causing this market to dry up to 0.

Kind of like having Test Bitcoin Networks only it would be subsumed.

Probably never, even when bitcoin will be obsolete for transactions and store of value, it will still have some collectible value.
The only possibility to drop to 1$ or below is massive bitcoin inflation (break of the protocol).

Bitcoin will never reach the $1 mark again, unless the Bitcoin foundation decides to issue 999 bonus coins for every 1 coin held.  Grin

Your bitcoin holdings will increase by a thousand times, and the value of each Bitcoin will decline by 99.9%.

Probably tomorrow when the big bad news hits....

Hi florica, welcome to the forum.  Smiley
Did you know there has been a constant flood of good news about Bitcoin lately?
Just look around and enjoy...

Have you noticed on the forum that when the news about btc is predominately good, the value goes up, and when it is not good the value goes down? Just something I observed..

Have you noticed that more it is talked about, good or bad, the more folks have heard about it and more places start accepting it? Bad news always scares nervous investors (those that don't understand their investment) but this helps us to determine the true floor. Currently this appears to be around $400. That is up substantially from before this year of news coverage.

Bitcoin might lose 99.9% of its value at some time, but we're almost sure that the dollar has lost more of its value by then. The USD seem to lose 70% of its value every 100 years or so.
$100 in 2012 had the purchasing power that $3.48 had in 1900. A loss of 96.4% in buying power.
