Voted for Never. I don't know what purpose a 24 Hr. News channel will serve? Maybe the Business channels that talk about Forex & Currencies all day might do a show or 2 or start mentioning BTC regularly in future on their shows but that's it.

I dont think we will see Bitcoin with its own channel anytime soon. There is too much volatility in the market and it's just not the same as other stocks. Sure you can look at new adoptions but those are even debated to have an effect.

Do you really think that there are news enough as to fill an entire tv channel?

Even national 24hr channels in my countries are forced to repeat many news to fill the schedule

A pumpkin mines 27 hours a night
A TV channel? Why would that money off the Internet, err the Internet of money, need a TV channel? But seriously, I think it will make some sense to quote BTC on some of the big business networks like Bloomberg for example. You can see BTC on a couple of Internet sites already, even on some where you wouldn't even expect it.

better everyday ♥
I voted after 2020, because the hope is by then we'll have a sufficiently large enough user base that a news channel or even a dedicated niche show will be Bitcoin/Crypto centric ala Bloomberg News or CNBC or the like.

We'll see what happens after these Bitcoin exchanges open up for trading...

Why would it need that, with all the live Podcasts and youtube videos being made daily.  Grin

I cannot keep up with all the NEWS as it is, and I think many people in the USA has MORE than enough TV Channels. They should include a daily 1 hour segment in one of the mayor NEWS channels for Bitcoin, because there are enough content to cover that.

A very small group of people in America currently use Bitcoin anyways, and these people are all about Ad income and viewer numbers... If you increase the adoption of Bitcoin, the audience would increase, and when that happens, the media will follow the money.  Grin

Bitcoin is a novelty now and so there are articles which talk about it.
Once it becomes widely used as a currency, there may not even be articles specifically on Bitcoin.
So there is good chance we might never have a devoted BTC channel.  Smiley

I dunno. I don't think it will ever happen, but that's just my opinion.
if it's going to happen, it'll probably be in 2020 ish.

Maybe after 2020,because you need many news and changes to cover so many hours in tv.

We may see a 'bitcoin hour' sooner than later, but an entire channel... I don't see it in the short term

Why would even a Bitcoin 24h tv channel need to exist? It will never happen unless some crazy early adopter decide to invest on such project.

Bitcoin is not a private company that it will have a news channel. Do u see a news channel for Tor or SMTP ?

No, but they have them for finances and stock markets so it's not a ludicrous question. Here's some: http://www.currencytrading.net/features/must-see-investing-tv-20-free-online-tv-channels-for-finance-junkies/

Why have a centralised news source at all?  Besides, TV itself is basically just going to merge with the internet at some point.  Everyone is already moving to "on demand" formats.  Most of what people think of as "news" on TV is beamed out there with too much bias, so I'd rather have multiple sources rather than relying on a single point of (mis)information.
I think TV as we know it will never dissapear, or at least not until the current 30+yo generations are all dead which are the ones still paying any attention to the TV.

Trust me!
An own channel just for BTC? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me, to be honest. But I could see Bitcoin being quoted in some networks' stock tickers in a couple of years or so - doesn't seem too unreasonable or improbable!

channel are centralized, bitcoin should have nothing to do with it, also a thing like that isn't needed , because it will be in play only when bitcoin will reach mainstream status

Speculate:

If it gets any type of channel it would be online 24/7 and not just in america.  I could see a possible 24/7 podcast/live radio show for bitcoin.  Some news channels already do many live broadcasts.

Once we have enough companies building apps which can be commercialized on TV. Somebody need to pay for marketing and make money of it.

BTC s not the best option for that, apps are.

Why not? If the adoption rated of bitcoin is as large as US dollar. There are a lot of news happening around bitcoin. Some big broadcast company may open such a channel to do bitcoin or crypto related TV programs to attract the audiences. Probably we haven't seen a devoted fiat money channel yet, but there are a lot of related fiat money news happening every day, which are reported in different channel. We just haven't seen the integrated news channel named as devoted fiat money channel yet.

You really think this entire protocol is nothing more than a coin or token? Seems like people here aren't too optimistic about the potential, very interesting, this sentiment.

There is no devoted 24hr channel on GBP or EUR, there will never be a channel on bitcoin. It will be a breakthrough if bloomberg quote bitcoin prices along with other world currencies.
