sure enough!

will buy 1BTC for $200

will you?

Hey I have a sell order at $199.93 for 10 BTC, if you put a buy order for that price, Gox will honor it at once!
so please go ahead Smiley

Nah.. Gox doesn't let you buy higher than the lowest current asking price or sell lower than the highest bid price.  I found this out when I accidentally left a zero out of my asking price and it was executed immediately.  I thought I had just sold a bunch of coins at about 10x less than the current market price, but then I looked at my trade history and was glad to see that it was sold at the lowest bid price.

Days, weeks, or maybe even months? My best guess is 1-3 weeks.

I like your thinking, and your posts :-)  Can I call you Zangly?  :-D

But yeah, I think it will be sooner than later...  Somewhere around here are some posts about how distance (time-wise) between rallies is shortening...

Just wait for the next hype cycle to swing around again. Given that we just had one (popped by MtGox becoming a 'victim of its own success') it'll be a little while. Having said that, there are a LOT of bullish traders on btc.sx at the moment.

That website's name has an interesting ring to it Grin

My prediction? We'll see a flat market for a little while and then a rapid succession of price rallys.

My thoughts exactly. I'm just not sure how long the market will remain flat. Days, weeks, or maybe even months? My best guess is 1-3 weeks.

18,000 new registered members for Bitcointalk.org in April is understandable, but another 12,000 only partway through May is rather surprising.

As we have seen in the past few weeks , the value of bitcoins has not drastically varied  because of any positive or negative news.We have now , what I believe , reached a stagnation point, where the adoption of bitcoins by newcomers has actually slowed down. The value of bitcoins will rise only if more people believe in it , just like any other fiat currency . Here is an interesting observation :

No.  Is email a product of this so-called "effect"?  How about the Internet?  Of course they are not, because they provide a novel, revolutionary, historically unprecedented value / service to the world, for almost nothing in return (mostly the passion-fueled hard work of their respective maintainers) which is obviously [at least to me] more than simple belief.
