Flying Hellfish is a Commie
It will be implemented when it's ready. There are no estimates from the developers yet, but I personally think it will happen sometime in 2018 or early 2019 at the latest.
It is already possible to do Lightning transactions on the Bitcoin testnet so it's reasonable to assume that we're not that far off from an official mainnet release.

I mean even if it is ready, this wouldn't mean that the rest of the people involved in Bitcoin (miners, exchanges, wallets etc) are going to want to actually implement this, as a lot of people have alterior motives and want

Offering Escrow 0.5 % fee
the cost per Bitcoin transaction fee is very high, network speed very poor, the last i made a transaction i waited over 30mins before my coin arrived my wallet. this is verty bad

At least for you it only took 30mins to arrive at your wallet, I'm still having problem with my transaction since Dec 18, 17.

P.S lightning network need to be implemented for future generations, though it will take a long time.

I've been hearing about lightning network for a long time now. When will Bitcoin be implementing it? Bitcoin doesn't have forever, there are now a lot of other contendors for the crypto king. Bitcoin's market dominance is reducing more and more. This can't be ignored: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage

I'm a big fan of Bitcoin, but I'd be very distraught if they took too long and another coin passed them up. At the end of the day, I'm going with the coin that wins and not necessarily the coin that I like the most.
