You can buy it from newegg.com with bitcoins

thank you sir however i am aware where i can buy it from but i was wondering what the best open source wallet software is for rasberry pi that will generate wallets without being on the network just like the core wallet does

obviously i know nothing and am now more aware that rasppi is running the linux I guess I will just have to take the dive and grab one to play around with Smiley

Another suggestion:

I have dropped some new SSDs in old Dell computers and they run like champs.  They had no problem running current OSs.  I am sure you could find a model you like on Ebay without the Wifi and give this a try.  Cheap/Meets your requirements.

Why are you worried about WiFi Huh  Just turn it off like coinits said.

There are older laptops on ebay that have no WiFi,but getting one with Win8 may not be possible.Win7 should be easy.

If you need help finding something PM me,I deal a lot on ebay & should be able to find something from someone good  Wink

What spec's are looking for quad/dual/single core CPU? How much RAM? How big a HDD you need? How big a monitor do you need? What OS?

Are you in the US,if not then I don't think I can help though  Sad

hello sir i am looking for the best value. under or near 100$ is great running windows 7 or better. I dont remember the exact name but remember the computer that used to have the little creditcard size bays. You would have to physically put in the credit car sized wifi card. Something like that running windows 7 or better would be great. No bluetooth or other coms either. Thanks for all the help I will shoot the ebay info out once/if you are able to stir something up

Just set the WiFi button to off.

this is horrible idea. Malware.....

still no good answers. came here as a last resort seems impossible to get a laptop w no cards today anyone else think no?Huh? unless ur willing to roll the dice and get somethine older and what a bummer cause even if u pay 100$ you can get ones now for 178$ acer is running a special

I think what coinits means is that there is a physical "turn off wifi" switch on most laptops (all my IBM/Lenovo has such a switch).
This switch is physically connected to the sleep pin on the wifi chip, there is NO way malware can override this function.

Im not so sure about that...

You could maybe try places that do custom laptops and specifically ask for no wi-fi though there aren't many around there are specialists that will do that sort of thing, I totally understand why you'd be wary of wi-fi connections to a laptop especially if you want to keep it all completely offline.

Problem is, I have look at this option and they all want 400+$ for there "special custom" laptops :/

Wrong. The button is an external piece and shuts down the radio. Malware shouldn't be able to interfere with this.
Besides, malware can operate on a computer that isn't connected to the internet just as easily.

Why not just buy a mini (cheap) PC? Those don't usually come with built in wi-fi?

yes the mini pc would work. Where can i get a cheap one? All the ones I see are more then laptops (which is so weird).

There is also the option to get a laptop without a wifi module, while some models might have the wifi chip build in, I am sure that some models still uses modules.

I was under the impressions that nearly all new computers (ddont know exact year say after 09ish?) had the wifi cards directly made into the motherboard?

nah, they're mostly separate: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_4812107_remove-wireless-card-laptop.html

You could try building your own computer using parts from a website like Newegg or TigerDirect. Buy all the parts that you would need for a normal computer minus the wireless networking card.

thats what im saying. Im not trying to put evvery idea down. but this ^ would be a nightmare these days. I need a laptop and by the time it was all done pray it work correctly. There must be a cheap laptop (i have a few sub 200$ ones i bought in the past weeks brand new) that has a removable card. The question is which model...

Obviously its going to be so hard to find something with no wireless comms these days. But also I dont want to buy someones junk box off ebay. Ordering a computer from a stranger is rolling the dice.

I was looking at those pocket size desktops but nothing really caught my eye. Maybe I was on to the right track? It would be nice to have something running modern day OS that I could use as my air gap machine. Thanks

Would it be feasible for you to buy a new laptop and just remove the wireless card from it?

http://www.ehow.com/how_4812107_remove-wireless-card-laptop.html

In my opinion, this is the best option for the OP if he is looking for a computer without a wireless card. It is relatively simple to remove the wireless card, allowing the user to disconnect the computer from external networks permanently. Even a used laptop which has been reformatted and had its networking hardware removed should be safe enough for applications such as bitcoin wallets, as there is no way for an attacker to obtain information on the device through the internet.

I was under the impressions that nearly all new computers (ddont know exact year say after 09ish?) had the wifi cards directly made into the motherboard? Additionally pi will not work. I need it running one of the big three. Thanks for any help guys i really need to find something. HELP!
