Hi, for a school project i'm mining litecoin with a raspberry pi. So i want to tell something about Litecoin especially where you can buy something with Litecoin (beside the black markets in the dark web). I have googled but i don't find anything. Can you tell me some marketplaces where Litecoin is accepted? Or have you maby a site which shows you some marketplaces for Litecoin?

so you are only doing it all for the purpose of your project and not mean for personal use  ?  it was some kind of a crypto subject you have on your school or its a crypto/blockchain course   ? thats cool  .  you said you use google , and you dont find anything  ?  maybe there is something wrong with your keyword  . i know there are sites that accepts litecoins before but i forgot it  .  the sites are promoted on this forum  . you  can try to use the search function here also   . ltc was one of the best coin to use for payments , thats why i dont believe you cant find one

Would you mind telling how many litecoins had you mined? I'm intrigued with the numbers as I knew that it's just you mined almost nothing.

Anyway, I suggest if your litecoins have some decent value, try to sell it on exchange sites and sell it will other good coins such as bitcoin and eth.

Well maybe the results of Litecoin from mining and then want to buy in online shopping and I think Litecoin is rarely accepted in some shopping sites because on average they accept the main coins, namely bitcoin.
Litecoin is a fairly high coin just convert to fiat or bitcoin because it is widely available in other large popular exchanges.

to be easy, the first you have to convert your Litecoin to Bitcoin and buy someting with bitcoin more easily than buy something with Litecoins. Bitcoin accepted by many things like booking travel, online payment, or investing.... another choice you can convert your litecoin to fiat money and buy everything with your fiat money.

Actually this is not a problem, but it is a problem too, when we don't have real money to buy something and we only have crypto assets, what else can we do?
One method that is quite effective is that if you have a lot of LTC, then exchange the LTC to USD which can be withdrawn into your bank account. Now there are many instant exchangers that provide direct and fast exchange facilities. If you exchange it at several large exchangers, it will take a little time. Maybe you have some friends who have business as local exchangers.
Converting is the only way now, or find wallet that are readily available in fiat. We have popular wallet here in our country that can choose in what alt to pay bills and it will convert it automatic upon paying. However, LTC is not include yet in the alts applicable there.

yes that might be one of the disadvantages of LTC itself. It is hard to find a wallet that is compatible with LTC, where there is already a wallet available for direct exchange to USD or fiat features. But if apart from LTC, there are already many mobile wallets available as a direct exchange tool, on average, the walle receives coins, such as BTC, ETH, BNB, Zcash, it is difficult to find a special LTC wallet that can be connected directly to Fiat.

Just convert your ltc for more popular payments methods. BTC, BCH, ETH, XMR maybe
Not only that, because Litecoin already exists in all markets, so it is very easy to change it, but what makes this topic have other questions for Litecoin, even though the answer is very simple.

Where are you located?

If you are in the UK, you can buy gift cards with Litecoin on the following site:

https://www.cryptodechange.com/

Scroll right to the bottom to select the currency you want.

They sell supermarket gift cards, so in theory you can buy all your food using a card you paid for with litecoin.

If the OP is in the UK then it will be easier with the card can shop with your needs that will be purchased but it is only in the UK and in other countries can not do such a thing so consider first before buying something.
Average payment by Litecoin is very rare and I often encounter only bitcoin payments.

As for who is accepting LTC, there are payment gateways like coinpayments that accept a lot of established altcoins (as long as the shopowner configures them). I'm not a fan of coinpayments, but you might look trough their business directory and check out their vendors to see if you can find one that accepts LTC
I had the same thought, and that brought me to https://cryptwerk.com/pay-with/ltc/

Sorry to say, but you'll learn nothing while mining litecoin with an rPi. You defenately won't mine enough to buy anything (whatsoever) on any shop anywhere.

https://litecoin.info/index.php/Mining_hardware_comparison#CPU
An rpi4 (latest model) has a quadcore Cortex A72.
The A72 isn't in the above list, but it's clear that these CPU's seldomly hash at a hashrate higher than 5 kH/s

Enter this number into one of the many mining calculators like this one (first his on google)
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/ltc?HashingPower=5&HashingUnit=KH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=0&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=0

The ESTIMATED income, per YEAR is 0.00007916 Litecoin.

At current preev rate, that's less than half a dollarcent (in other words, you'll have to mine 200 years at current diff, block reward and exchange rate to mine $1)

Even if you find a pool that accepts really low diff shares, the chance you'll find a share is very low... So basically, mining litecoin with an rPi is just wasting cpu cycles while nothing at all happens.

https://litecoin-foundation.org/ maybe this site is one of them, actually a lot it's just that most items sold are only digital good items so I don't think it's interesting for you, btw I've never made any purchases with Litecoin mostly only using bitcoin and dogecoin.
or to be precise go to https://litecoin-foundation.org/businesses/ and find "Online Commerce Businesses Accepting Litecoin".
you can find many places that accept litecoin as form of payment.

Only very rarely do some stores pay with crypto. but those stores usually just want to accept payments in bitcoin. I know there are some services that accept payments in bitcoin, such as Pizza, small convenience stores, etc. or you can join deepweb shops, you can buy a few things and sellers in That's quite reputable. I tried to buy and it seems they accept Litecoin and even XMR.
