Hey guys,

I do work on a little bit less POwer Supply which kicks out 800Watt on 120V and 1000 Watt on 230V which is a HP DPS-800GB Powersupply. I also build the Power adapter with POT so you can adjust the voltage a bit. I just finished the dev and now gonna order the 100+ boards. all other components are already inhouse.

We have the Dell 750 Server Supplies and Breakout boards w/ cables, as well as the same for the 2000W IBM Supply. Should also have boards for the HP slimline supplies (up to 1200W I think) available within the next few weeks.

Here we go for the pictures of the prototype breakout board.
It isn't pretty, mostly because I wanted a double sided one, and I don't have rivets for connecting both sides, so soldering the connectors was quite hard.
The ones I'll receive from the PCB manufacturer will be easy to solder and prettier.

Prototype was made using toner transfert. with a modded laminating machine.

If you are wondering, 12.6v is the standard output of this PSU.

It's Not Enough
i used this pinout for HSTNS-PA01 (its model name).
the 3 marked ones in a row, you can ignore the other pin markings for this use as that is for voltage adjusting to charge rc batteries.

After a mistake in the pinout, prototype of the breakout board working as expected.
It will have:
-on/off switch to turn the PSU from IDLE to ON.
-16x screw terminals able to supply at least 12A each (should be ok up to 15A).

I plugged some 5.5x2.1mm plugs for gridseed and a PCI-Express 6 pins cable in the screw terminals to test the load.
I'll now test it to check if nothing is heating and send the files to a PCB manufacturer.

Pictures later after dinner.

I'll open a "group buy" for them in a day or two in a separate thread.

So, I see how you would use the quick-disconnects to connect up the positive and negative leads to power the miner. But how would you connect the pins to jump the power supply? without soldering.

i bought a few packs of these female jumper wire from glorius china Smiley
so i just cut them in half, put 3 onto the pins in question and tape the leads together with electrical tape.
at 1.5$ for enough connectors to do 25 psus its almost free.

Which three pins? Just 1 from each row tied together?

Finally finished drilling 117 holes.
Now, I know why I do prefer prototyping SMT boards.
Components placed, I'll solder and test tomorrow.
I'll have some pics too.

Fantastic !! - That link gives the instructions plus the close up pictures of the rear terminals. I thought they
looked too weird/hazy to be standard lugs that all the other sites show in their low quality small images. So unless you have the board
you really do need to solder as I don't see how female quick disconnect's would stay on. Even male
spades would probably not work unless you made something to hold them in which I guess is what
the proper plug that everyone is out of stock off does.

Thanks for the answers, crusader, J4bberwock and tvasbn.

That blue female quick disconnect connector is exactly what I was thinking of.

You can squeeze them a little with pliers to adjust tightness if they are too loose.
Make sure you have plenty of spares as it takes a few to learn how much force
to use to "correct" them.

I am also interested in 1 or 2 board's if you get them ready.

The backside:


Basicly the flat ones are 12v/ground/12v/ground on each side and you connect 3 of the middle pins to turn it on and keep it running.
I do not have any extra cooling on mine.

If you do not feel like soldering directly onto psu, you can buy flat cable shoes (not sure if correct translation) and press them onto the flat metal bits.

That's what I'm using at the moment, 6.35mm ones, but they tend to move out of the tabs.
There are 2 fans inside the PSU, 60mmx38mm, high CFM (loud), similar to the ones sold here:

I'd probably be interested in a breakout board for this if you have them ready soon.  Do you think it would it be possible to run 2 S1's and a S3 off a single one of these?

It will have 8 screw terminals. I'll test it as soon as I have it done, but each screw terminal should be able to handle 150w, probably closer to 180w (15A@12V).

I can prototype quite fast and have a few spare connectors for this PSU, but quantities over 10 will need more time since there is no reseller who have the 51940-038LF connector in stock.

i see there is 3 listings of of the dl580 1300w units on ebay below 20$, just search for "337867-001".
2 of those and you have miles of juice

You can not just plug and play with these can you, wouldn't you have to mod or add something for them to work with most miners?

I'm currently building breakout boards for me to use with this PSU. First prototype will be finished today or tomorrow.
If there is some interest, I can make more and resell them, price should be around 20$ excluding shipping.

I would be interested in 2 if you do produce for sale, can you post a pic once you have first completed?
