I have made purchases about 3 years ago from localbitcoins.. Recently I have heard that there are a lot of scammers getting away with buyers'
money and with very little help from the Support (This is what I have heard)!!!

I have heard that I should stay away from Coinbase, mainly because you do NOT have control of your money in your account, among other issues.
I live in USA...So what are my options. I would like to use MoneyGram or WesternUnion. But what is a Legit source? Providing ID is not an issue.
Escrow is a system I would prefer. I am NOT trying to trade one cryto for another. I am trying to buy btc via MoneyGram or WesternUnion.

I hope to hear from you fairly soon!
I understand why you are hesitating to use coinbase as your wallet. But, who is telling you to use their wallet to store your crypto currencies? As far as I know there are no rules which states that you should be storing your coin bought from them at their wallet. Just buy it from them and then transfer it to some other wallet that you use. Or find someone trusted at the forum and do the dealing at your own risk.

You could make your own thread on the Currency Exchange section or find a trusted user there with a good trading history. If you still have doubts and wanted to escrow the deal you can go check this thread it's a detailed list of the most known/trusted escrows here in the forum.

Buying BTC through exchanges is fine though just make sure you move the coins immediately to a wallet that gives you full access(private keys, seeds, etc).

I think that there is more than one place to get btc but i don't really think that anyone can guarantee you 100% safety. To my mind, it is better to find friends who would like to sell coins

I don't know from where you have heard to stay away from the Coinbase. Coinbase is the most trustable source to buy Bitcoin easily even from the USA! This is the easiest process I have ever used! But If you are confused about the control of your money in coinbase then you can transfer from Coinbase to any other wallet easily. To buy Bitcoin, I suggest you coinbase, to store it I suggest you hardware wallet. Good Luck.
Maybe issue that if we save coins in Coinbase it is  not like wallet and if they get hacked, we can't do anything because our money is in their wallet. Actually if only to buy coins, Coinbase is good to do, if OP afraid to save it in Coinbase, he can move it on other wallet.

localbitcoins and coinbase are still the safest place to buy your bitcoins. With localbitcoins there is an escrow which is to protect buyers and seller for a smooth trade while coinbase has the best security features for your account.

Buy bitcoins requires that you have a local dealer that accepts fiat and exchange it and give you the required amount is paid in crypto. It will be difficult to use some exchanges like binance in the first place because I don't ever see them accepting fiat directly. Coinbase will do for your case. Also look for exchanges that accept direct deposit of fiat.

You can purchase Bitcoin exchanges in the top 10 in the CMC. And Binance is the best choice for buying Bitcoin. It is no coincidence that Binance is at the top of the CMC, the floor has been operating for more than a year with large volume daily transactions, high security mode, easy transaction for the user, ... I think Binance is appropriate.

LBC is a safe option.  If you are really an investor and proceed in an "actual name" transaction it will be smooth as silk.  High transaction sellers where all names, contact info, and mutually verified text traffic happens on both ends has never had one single glitch for me.  I am connected so I also go about anonymous traffic, but for a newer unplugged user being straight forward inside the LBC ecosystem is very safe.  Also, I didn't notice what volume you are talking about and that is a factor too!

I think your main problem is how to make money on the market with the choice of the exchange you will not have problems a lot of them ! Use the exchanger to conduct transactions. I use bestchange .

It isn't very risky to buy coins at an exchange like Coinbase even if they take control of your funds for a moment. You'd have to be very unlucky for the exchange to get hacked exactly after you've bought your coins. You shouldn't store coins on exchanges but if you buy and send to your wallet right away it's safe. You won't get it much safer by using localbitcoins. Only buying from a friend beats a solid exchange.

Coinbase would be your best choice if you don't trust LBC anymore. You don't have the private keys so after buying bitcoin, just move it to a wallet where you hold your PK's/seed like electrum.

Coinbase or Gemini would be the most trusted options in the US at the moment, but both of these are custodial exchanges so if keeping full control of the money in your account is important, these would not be ideal.

For MoneyGram/WesternUnion exchanges, LocalBitcoins is by far the most popular. They have now introduced heavier KYC as well, so should hopefully be a little more reliable than before.

Honestly I'd suggest use LBC but just look for people with high trust scores and many reviews. Start with small transactions, and never risk everything with one trader.

Edit: When it comes to fiat exchanges, you can basically have either complete safety, or complete control. No exchange is going to provide you safety (like Coinbase with insured deposits) without taking some control away from you. So the choice is yours as to which of these two options is most important.
