who is dumb enough to put 67 bitcoins in some online wallet?

LOL

I don't want to use the word dumb, but well some people did put hundreds of bitcoin in their mtgox account and they are all gone...

BTW, a person lost 633 bitcoin using Tor on his blockchain.info wallet. You can search the thread in "Bitcoin Discussion".

Yeah i hopefully too, but it seems like about the security of blockchain, because many complain about losing bitcoin in blockchain wallet. Undecided

That's very unlikely due to an issue on blockchain.info's end. People lose coins because of their own fault most of the time. Blockchain.info seems to be probably the most secure of all web wallets so not sure why it's been delisted exactly. If people losing coins through their own lack of security is a reason to remove them then best remove all the others and any exchanges they recommend as well.

The reddit threads are pretty interesting, thanks ikydesu.  Basically they suggest that blockchain.info would be listed if it applied today due to security concerns.  The posts the reddits point to lay the issues out pretty clearly.  It looks like BCI has responded to some of them but others are unaddressed and so they are off the list for the time being.

blockchain.info's wallet service is still operational:
https://blockchain.info/wallet

I'm not sure why it was taken off of bitcoin.org. That page appears to have been recently updated, maybe it was removed by mistake.

Yeah, if not for this thread I would not have noticed it has been removed from bitcoin.org. It suspect it could be due to the security concerns that took place recently about weeks ago. Also I can see that there are new wallet additions as well like for instance mSIGNA. Oh, my it has been some time since I last been to that site so it's good to see new changes.

It was edited because the security problems it is being having against hackers.

It's a 60 day timeout, and may be re-listed depending on what improvements have been rolled out.

I've always thought they were one of the most popular web wallets, hopefully blockchain.info will address the reasons for being unlisted.

Yeah OP's right.
and only blockchain has removed from https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

mistake or intentional? Huh

This is pretty bad. Is bitcoin.org asking for payment to get listed, which blockchain.info denied to pay ? I think blockchain.info is more popular among bitcoiners than bitcoin.org and hence they refused to pay. In alexa rank also blockchain.info is in far better position than bitcoin.org.

I found this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2o4ks9/pull_request_remove_blockchaininfo_listing_from/

Who cares so long as the blockchain service continues. Let's be wary of running with unsubstantiated conspiracy theories here...
