There have been reports of BitcoinFaucet.at not paying out.  Anyone else experienced this?

For now I will mark it with an * and will watch it closely for a few days, and after that remove it from the list if it is engaging in the activity that some are reporting.

Have you got a payout from it? How much and how long did it take?

It was submitted before and I don't think it was paying out.  I will check it again.

Dust sites are worthwhile if you're sitting on your computer and can keep an eye on the time and the tabs. Some can be kind of profitable as long as you are making money while on your computer to begin with. I have a wallet that is strictly for dust....its my donation address here lol. What I will say is to hit the ones that allow you to delay payment. That way you are getting large chunks of dust instead of small ones. Plus I look at that wallet as my play money. The cash I can gamble with, donate, and just generally not care about. It can stack up in the long-term.

None of these websites offer free "bitcoins". They offer free fractions of bitcoins, essentially worthless. Bitcoins means more than one bitcoin, and to make more than bitcoin on these websites would take weeks.

I would suggest that "bitcoins" refers to any amount of the stuff...  saying "0.001 bitcoins" is just as valid as saying "10 bitcoins" or "twenty one million bitcoins".

As to your other point I have a standard response to that:

What good is it if one only gets very very small amounts?

The definition of plural is more than one, so saying bitcoins is a lie.

Your post there is completely generic, a much expected response. Bitcoins are not some special science or anything and having .0000001 of them doesn't "expose" you to how they work. If you are a newbie and just got that many bitcoins, you can't even send them or do anything with them, defeating the entire purpose of introducing new people to them.

You are a poor little man if you go around on these websites and actively try to find them. You can literally make more money looking for coins on the street.

I have collected a lot of tiny transactions using these many different sites.

I am now told they are "dust" transactions, and worthless, since the fees for sending them is higher than their own value!

What do I do about this, what do you guys do about this?

I can't be the only one who thought it was fine to receive all these tiny transactions.

Let them age and/or include them as inputs in transactions involving larger amounts.

And what does "let them age" do? (And how long do they have to age for?)

The network considers them more trustworthy or something.  I have let them age for a month or more and found I had no problem with large tx fees ( but then whenever I send some BTC is usually isn't very small amounts ). I don't know if one needs to wait that long...

How do I include them with other transactions?

Sounds like I need some sort of knowlegde other than basic end-user GUI-using powers to do this? Smiley

Yes, I don't trust myself to customize my transactions using the command line etc.  I think I read where the reference client will have options to allow non-tech users to choose which addresses to use as inputs for transactions in future implementations ( I could be wrong ).

Others have explained these things here before but I can't remember who it was right now.  Hopefully they, or someone else, can post something to clear this up again.
