My advice is to use Linux Ubuntu and not install Java (and Flash). It's much more safer than Windows.

First install an anti-virus. Then get a bitcoin wallet. There are many varieties, so a lot to choose from. Once you have a bitcoin wallet installed you have a bitcoin address. This address can be used to receive bitcoins. Finally create backups.

I'm new to Bitcoin.  I have no idea where to start.  Does anyone know of a site that can tell me what I need to do?  I know I need to get a wallet.  But, not sure where or any of that stuff.

The reason I want to get into Bitcoin is because I saw it at Fiverr.  I saw that I can pay for gigs using it.  I would like to find some kind of online work that I do to earn Bitcoins.  Then use them at Fiverr.  That might not make any sense.  But, I need to buy services online that I can't do myself.  Is it difficult to find grunt type of work online that pays in Bitcoins?  Really I'm just looking to make 50 to a few hundred dollars.  Enough to fund this aspect of the project I'm working on.
the first place you should look into is https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started follow the links to learn and choose wallet. and for earning bitcoin you can take a look into services section for signature campagns and also faucets are there for tiny amount of bitcoins

How much can a person make selling their signature?

Not much signature campaigns for newbies and would not recommend them either, wait till you get to Member status.
You can start with somewhere 0.05 per month. For all others you can look here Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns.

I would also recommend looking at  https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

That is the white paper written by Satoshi Nakamoto. This whole thing is really about what is written in that document.

The Electrum Wallet is a good wallet.  Once you buy BTC using a fiat currency (at coinbase.com for example) you can send the Bitcoin to the electrum wallet.  As long as you keep a physical copy of your randomly generated pass phrase, you'll always have access to your BTC!

Head to Electrum.org, they've got all the info you'll want to see.

join the sign campaign(if you rank is good enough for earn much bitcoin) Grin

give that a try, and also look into contacting coindesk and a few other bitcoin news outlets to see if they pay people for writing news articles.

dont limit yourself to the porn industry, and dont limit yourself to advertising on just this forum.

I found the following two articles about cointellect with google search, which both say it is a scam. I don't know if it is really the case or not though.

Well, first of all you gotta create your own wallet.  Cheesy
Since you're a newbie, I recommend you to start using Multibit, which is probably the easiest wallet to start with.

Well, to get started it might not necessarily so complicated. Once you got your wallet and have started receiving and sending in bitcoin, that practically covers almost everything unless you want to get behind the technical aspect. As for earning bitcoin, rather than finding jobs that pay in bitcoin, why not find some jobs that pay in fiat? Use that fiat later to get btc. By comparison, question on which one is a better option, you should be able to find that out easily.
