my promised land used to be Syria
we were living a good life , secure and safe . our economy was good and the small salary was more than enough to enjoy the month

My "promised land" is the original from the bible...

Ya know, the land of milk and honey?

Where the Israelites murdered the farmers and beekeepers who were tending those cows and beehives, stole their milk and honey and land...

No better way to start off "the promised land" than with a little genocide, eh?

Yeah, I was promised a lot of things, and seed a great deal of lands, but nothing like the promised land. Maybe the promised land is where there are no people. But if there's no one there, then no one can promise it.

The people are the land. Why? Because we are made of the minerals that come from the land.

I am my promised land.

Promised land? Is there such a thing?
Just give me peace and leave me alone and the promised land is already there.

My promised land would be the far north west of Scotland with actual good weather and no biting insects. You can get a hint of it for a few weeks of the year but no more.

My promised land is France, even if the stronger the American-liberal influenced, the less beautiful it becomes. It's still the land with the most incredible culture in the world (talking about historical culture here, not saying we're the best just that we have lots of monuments and ruins of our past in a perfect state). The best food in the world (personal point of view here).
It's also the land of equality and the only country in the world where capitalism is (was?) a bit controlled in order to make the people more equal.

The land of socialism and of equality. The land of culture, science, art and love. My promised land.

My promised land is Switzerland.
Why?
Because of its beauty, security, order, good standard and salaries, perfect health system, Swiss products like chocolate and watches etc.
I visited Switzerland several times and really fall in love with this country.
Hope that once I will be able to live there.

it's so beautiful, and always true. but then where do you ideally locate this magnificent body of yours? are you already floating through space (and time)? Btw I am a fan of your posts BADecker, you make me laugh Smiley.

Some folks think that the earth is flat. I haven't looked at what they suggest the physics of such a thing is.

Aren't we being propelled or drawn through space and time right here on earth?

My posts of child-like writings are the only way that many of the kids in here can understand. Jesus talked way more in parable style than I do.

Yes we are. and only so briefly... I am almost sure that you are "smarter" than me... you bring lot of new ideas to me. thank you.

If you want to be smarter in the general understanding of things, constantly read the Bible, AND, listen to it on CD. This in addition to whatever other studies you undertake.
