This also came out in my social media account when Alex Pagulayan shared about his recent bout against Efren Bata Reyes at the Derby.
Regarding the sports bookie, I didn't find any at Stake.com too or maybe I missed it if ever they only input it before the bout began.

Big fan of Reyes here and it filled me joy as I watch him finish third despite being 68 years old. Alex Pagulayan felt the same as this is a rare opportunity to battle with a hero in billiards. Many people look up to Efren and I bet this event opened some eyes of the youngsters who are also making a career in the said sports.
It's amazing because he still has the stroke, I wish we could see him again at other events and some sports bookies open some lines for it. It's not like it's an unknown sport.

I'm actually confused with games of pool, billiards, and snooker. I think what many calls billiards is not really a game of billiards but a game of pool. Snooker is quiet easy to distinguish because of its red balls without numbers. But the three games are actually different not just in terms of mechanics but also in terms of the number of balls, even ball sizes, tables, even the table mats, etc.

I haven't bet on a game of billiards. But I noticed that it is not normally offered by bookies. Snooker is the more popular game in terms of betting.
Maybe this: https://quedos.com.au/difference-between-billiards-pool-and-snooker/ site will help you differentiate them better. What I found according to that site or even outside is that the major difference between the three is the table pockets, size of the table and then the balls.

I don't want to give much spoiler but you can just try reading the link I gave to you. Billiard isn't just a term but it is actually a game. Same with snooker and pool. It only depends on which country you are in, because some of them are more popular on a certain country. For ours, it was the billiard are the ones who are more popular. In terms or betting, I rarely saw a site which supports billiard but snooker.

i only see the snooker sports in the sports betting category. but billiards, i don't think crypto bookies are listing this game. maybe as mentioned by others, it is not attracting a lot of bettors or demand from their clients, hence, not listing this sports in their list.
but in any case, the event mentioned by the OP was already over and reyes got the 3rd spot. not bad at all considering his age to play this sports. i can say, he has still some juice for this sports beating a lot of younger players and still going home with some cash.

It is more likely with land based billiards place. In my country you'd be able to bet with players of such sports but these are with land based places. In online, I never encountered one probably because billiards is not that much of a common sports up until today unlike with basketball and such. I'm not quite sure but I have read an article before about billiard-betting wherein in big tournaments, fixed matches happen since it is easier to fake the result out. Inspite of having no proof of the aforementioned, I guess it is an interesting game to bet wherein first ball, could be bet about and other significant phases of the game.

I've never come across a bet for a pool game. maybe because it's not as big of an audience as MMA, boxing, or cricket.
but this can be a good piece of advice for sportsbook providers. where several matches attract the attention of many fans, it might be an option.

Do you know where to bet on this sports? Btw anyone here watching this tournament? Efren is already 68 years but he is dominating even young prodigy and still undefeated. Watching him on this level gives me a goosebumps.
I actually forgot to place bet with this tournament, yes Efren is one of the participants however I think it's too late to place bet as I think he's on the 3rd spot right now actually not bad for his age and no doubt that he's a legend, It's nice to see that he is still active and watch him play. Regarding where to place bet this I think stake and other bookies offer markets for this events if I am not mistaken it is under snooker?

There’s a hype recently in our country about our Billiard legend Efren Bata Reyes dominating the One pocket tournament of Derby City. I want to support him but sadly most of the sportsbook that I’m using doesn’t have this kind of bet offer.

Do you know where to bet on this sports? Btw anyone here watching this tournament? Efren is already 68 years but he is dominating even young prodigy and still undefeated. Watching him on this level gives me a goosebumps.

As it is said by the OP, "in our country" and not in the world so the game is limited to only OP's country. Because if the game is world wide definitely casinos or sportbooks would added to their games list for gamblers to see. You can still look for a local sport center to fine the game.

Since the tournament is not world wide it will be very difficult for people to find out . And another I can also say is that, probably the tournament is not yet mass adopted. That is why many sportbooks have not added it to their systems.
It is being covered worldwide, especially in countries where billiard is popular Derby classic is already 20 years old and is one of the most covered billiard events in the world, if you're a follower of billiards or you have a billiard hero just like me you will follow big events like this, unfortunately very few casinos offer billiards betting but I'm sure the venue there are bettings going on.
Here is a brief history of the Deby City Classic.

billiard games at online gambling are very limited and it is very rare for anyone to bet on that game. I call pool games like PvP games but there are not many fans.
maybe some people here have already bet on that game but to be honest I've never bet on billiards.

after I looked at one of the gambling platforms mentioned by @YuginKadoya, it's actually a little interesting to bet on billiards. because there is only 1 against 1 and it is very easy to predict who will win.

^
Right now Pool betting is very very limited right now and I really don't know if there is Pool or Billiard betting online on the site this forum has provided, but I have checked on Stake and Sportsbet and there are no available Pool or Billiards bets but there are Snooker in Sportsbet, but not like billiards that all balls are the same colors and no numbers, But I have seen Pool games on 1xbet I think this site is more popular in the Philippines if you know it, they have live betting as well and you can watch the game live in their site aswell, and I think they also have an eSports Pool game that you can bet aswell, if there aren't any live pool or billiard games available,
maybe this is what you mean?

but to be honest I have never registered there

Casino sites for billiard games are very rare.  And I haven't seen any major casino sites launch betting for it. I am not in favor of having any slots for it on gambling sites as it is not yet a very popular game. But although I have not seen it on gambling sites, I have seen this game played as a bet offline in a few places. If I tell my story I have seen boys playing poll in my town with bets. But I want something on a gambling site where I can play the polls myself and earn real money.  As seen in the poll game to get fake coins

It is really pretty rare because there are no events for Billiards or Pool tournaments anymore, and if there are tournaments they wouldn't be announced or they are just private not in the previous days when Earl Strictland, Mike Sigel, and the legend Efren "Bata" Reyes was still playing it, it was really the fun times seeing them play, but yeah that is why there aren't any Billiard games available for betting for most sites, but if you see some people betting on your local pool bar, or tables then I think there you an experience betting it with real cash money, or maybe you can also introduce them to cryptocurrency aswell,

1xbet and Pnxbet are popular casino here but both connected to 1xbit which is why I’m avoiding this casino as much as possible. Yeah only snooker all I’m seeing that available on major casino but I’m surprised how billiard is not listed while it was very popular before.

I just recently become aware about this sports after a long time since I watch efren during my childhood and I skipped watching after he became less active. I will try to browse more on bookies that offers this sports before the finals will happened later. I will keep this thread open for recommendation.

Oh! I really don't know about that on 1xbet that is connected with 1xbit, that is why they got a close name aswell, I have seen YouTubers also advertising 1xbet on their channels which is why I thought it is OK, the history of 1xbit I am aware of it here in the forum, so just ignore that, while Billards is very popular back in the days I think there are not many that are playing anymore, and so there is no one holding any tournament of it anymore,

Well, I also watched Efren Reyes in my childhood aswell and his nickname the Magician was really lit and was really adapt to what he is doing he is performing miracles whenever he was playing and creating trick shots while on the Tournament, while others were just baffled by what he is doing,

Snooker is more popular in Europe and they probably have more events or tournaments all-year round than pool so it would make sense for sports books to add it. There are also many game formats in Pool if I am not mistaken which maybe makes it confusing for bookies and punters. The 9-Ball and 8-Ball were probably the most commonly played and most televised compared to other variations like One-Pocket.

Billiards don't have the usual matches I believed compare to other sports that's why maybe we rarely see them listed in bookies.

So just imagine if it's about a world competition or a tournament. The betting market here might be not that big too.

Maybe we can just see those at local fiat bookies but not sure if crypto-gambling sites will consider listing it.

Yeah, i've seen lots ads from 1xbet on filipino influencers being ignorant about the reputation of the site

So do I.
I guess they're on it for the money and just have to advertise it without doing much background checking to what they've agreed to advertise with.

everytime i watched a video promoting it i eventually skip the video or wont finish it at all.
I usually ignore them when I see it or they start to talk about it. It's just too worrisome that their followers are being encouraged to visit the site.
That's how things are with these kinds of influencers here on the Philippines where they don't really care about the reputation of the platform they are promoting as long as they get paid. They'll just include a disclosure that not all could win as it's a gamble and if ever the platform they promoted turns out to be a scam, they'll just sympathise with their followers and tell them that they also got scam from that.

I think the tournament is already done, please correct me here.

The reason why you saw Efren on the news is that he finished 3rd at that tournament even at the age of 68 and his opponent was not a joke when he entered the semi-finals, the fellow Filipino and really a Pro during his prime, Alex Pagulayan that is playing under the Canadian flag.

And it's not hype but rather just surprising news here since Efren proves that he can still finish at the top of international competition.

i may bet if there is an international tournament for it and Bata and his friends are still around. Bustamante I think is also aged already. there are new generations of billiard players in the country but they are not doing magic as Bata does. you can only be confident when they know they can deliver a winning streak.

At 68 years old the magician Efren"Bata"Reyes still beating younger players he just placed third in the recently concluded One pocket tournament of Derby City, and he is considered the greatest billiard player there's nothing more for Efren to prove, I think he is enjoying playing now because there's no pressure since he already established his legacy, billiards is very popular in many countries, especially in the Asian, online casinos should include this sports in their platform, its an old sport and very popular in many recreational centers.

The tournament is a global competition. Competitors came from different countries and it's just that PH Efren Reyes is making hype as he's still undefeated despite playing at the age of 68 years old and young ones can't even match him.

As for the topic's question, maybe because billiards events especially global tournament isn't that regularly held, bookies not listing them in most cases.

Different from snooker where there are regular games in the line. Just my thought.

If it's a world tournament, then there probably are some lines on sportsbet.io or Stake. But if it's just some other minor tournament then you will have a hard time searching for any available lines that you can bet on for billiards. It's a pretty much popular sport but I don't know why not a lot of bookies are interested in catering it. Perhaps not a lot of interest on to it? But I doubt it. Its viewership can still be huge as a lot of people still follow the sport to this day.
I reckon, there's still vast viewership on this sport but it seems that many bookies don't have it and I guess you're right that they'll only have it if it's a major tournament or a world titled match.

Efren Bata is a legend from our country. I've been trying to bet on his every game but I don't know where to. Bata is getting old his gameplay should be betted on online casino. Most of the available sport on online casino are international and world cup which has more players but I've only seen football and basketball, billiard and also chess should be added to because strategic/mind games is better to put some bet. Hoping that online casino will expand their game types.
Read a lot of news recently about the game, I just missed to place a bet because I thought its just a local tournament. Anyway, if there’s a site that offers this then I might get interested as well, Billiard is still a good sport and many are still playing this, I’m just wondering why there’s no site that offers this regularly. Let’s see if there’s a good recommended site here for Billiard.

just to clarify, the game is not limited to OP's country, the tournament is not even happening in OP's country. also, any nationality(as far as I know) can join the tournament. the OP is from the Philippines and when he said "There’s a hype recently in our country" it was because Efren "Bata" Reyes(a Filipino) is playing on Derby City Classic which is happening in the USA.

There's an option to bet on pool at BetOnline and they accept bitcoin deposits, but AFAIK convert them to USD and that's the currency you actually bet with.
do they have odds for Derby City Classic tournament?
