I'm pretty sure Binance[1] doesn't require any verification too. I haven't heard of an instance where Binance suddenly required KYC. If using an exchange, probably just don't exchange them all in one go, as to be sure. Especially if you're holding a big amount.

P.S. Stay away from HitBTC.

2 BTC limit every 24 hours for an unverified account would already be sufficient. Among on the choices Binance would be a good spot rather than considering between Bitfinex and HitBTC.
Not to mention that you could probably bypass that limit by simply using multiple accounts. Though I would really suggest against abusing it that way though.
If you are lucky to make such transactions but once caught then expect on what would be the hassle you would experience. Multi-accounting is never been an ideal thing.
Gradually exchangers as of now do already have KYC requirement and if you dont have any options then you can still do p2p. Suggestion is being given above.

You can also ask for an escrow while looking for a trade on Currency Exchange. There are trusted and reputable exchangers there if you don't want to ask for an escrow.

Shapeshift requires ID to make any conversion and Changelly doesn't work for me. Where can I convert bitcoin to monero without ID now? What exchange or service?

Another option for you is buying it on Cryptopia.

No need for ID submissions unless you want to increase your limits (Level 2)($3,000 USD for level 1) . Although in here, obviously you will need an account and setting up a 2FA. Just did some deposits and withdrawals here recently and Im surprised that this long time exchange is not that strict in terms of verification for basic account (level 1) unlike in other exchanges.
Cryptophia too have ID submission for once, just the ID number and what type of ID it is for their 5000NZD limit,I don't know which is equivalent to USD or not.

But I don't suggest to use Crpytophia too since they are also have some accusations unsolved yet with their withdrawals so better go with Binance basic level to stay anonymous.

OK, but there is another danger in such transaction - "Trusted forum members" may get into trouble if they offer such service to someone not that trusted who want to launder some bad money, this is especially dangerous with Monero and other anonymous coins.

Doesn't that apply to all sorts of different economical activities on this forum?

I can ask for a loan in Bitcoin and offer 'dirty' altcoins as collateral from where I simply default, which is basically similar to a trade for the one looking to get rid of his tainted coins. What happens with these coins? They get converted to Bitcoin. I can use 'dirty' (most sellers are willing to accept XMR as well) coins to buy a loaded physical Bitcoin, which is also similar to a trade. What happens with these coins? They get converted to Bitcoin.

In the end, it's up to the trusted forum member or seller to look at everything on a case per case basis, and from there decide to do business with a person or not.

Alternative option for people facing similar difficulties is to ask trusted forum members (for a small reward) if they are willing to do the conversion for you on the exchange they are verified/registered at. I'm quite sure that there are enough people here willing to help out in that regard.

You do realize that Cryptopia is just as shit as an exchange as Yobit? It wasn't all that long ago where scam accusations against them were piling up because they selectively were scaming people. Another thing is that they may have been (perhaps even still are) insolvent with how they weren't processing withdrawals for weeks in some cases.

---

It's getting increasingly harder for people to use an exchange with how verification is a must on all the competent platforms.

Shapeshift requires ID to make any conversion and Changelly doesn't work for me. Where can I convert bitcoin to monero without ID now? What exchange or service?
Changelly is a scam dude! You shouldn't be trading there for whatever reasons. You can buy monero almost everywhere where the general trading takes place. If you want to avoid all the exchange KYC hassle, create a thread on the forum and deal with someone trusted. Some accounts on LBC also offer to accept other coins privately so might as well want to checkout traders in your region

There is a big scam accusation against Changelly right now.  They are scamming select users that transfer a large balance, they stole over 10BTC from a user.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/changelly-illegal-exchanger-from-russia-with-fake-team-5034589

Although the accuser that you linked in that thread seems borderline retarded, the statements given by changelly are indeed deeply concerning.

Quote
Changelly is part of cryptocurrency ecosystem that has to implement KYC procedure to comply with the regulators' policies. To be fair, suspending transactions, if detected, is a common practice in every financial structure.
It is necessary to say that we always warn users about KYC check BEFORE they send a deposit to us. Sending money to Changelly is not possible if the box is not ticked. Please check - > https://imgur.com/a/vMjGbG9. If not ready, customers must refuse from performing a transaction.
We all need to understand that the government regulations is an inevitable side-effect of mass adoption, so we need to stick with common sense and provide users with the best experience possible in the current circumstances. That’s why 99,5% of overall transactions are still processed anonymously on our service.

Once again, the customer didn't use Changelly for the transaction that got subjected to KYC check. Hence, we do recommend to contact the support team of the relevant service on all matters.

So they basically trap you with their KYC. It's like gambling as to whether or not you're subject to a KYC check. Correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think that there are any standards as to when someone has to undergo this procedure. Which basically allows them to selectively apply this on their customers, and there is no way for a regular guy like you and me to know whether or not it was justified..

So when you use a thirdparty that uses Changelly's api (ChangeNow?), you won't get the checkmark for a KYC check, but you ARE subject to one? Am i getting that correct? That seems borderline illegal?

Quote
As we could understand, the transaction in question wasn’t even initiated via our service but via ChangeNOW. It is significant to mention that we are not responsible for any transactions performed via services using our API as literally everyone can use it and create their own exchange services.
Huh Uhhh?

Update: I used https://blocktrades.us/ to exchange without problems and with good rates.

Blocktrades stores logs permanently (https://blocktrades.us/terms-and-conditions-of-use) but for me this isn't a problem.

Livecoin, Cryptopia, Poloniex, Bisq and so.

When you are looking an exchange listing a coin you can use coinmarketcap, select the coin, and then click on the market tab. it lists all the exchange with monero

For example for Monero https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#markets

That doesn't answer OP question, for example I'm 100% positive that Poloniex requires KYC so he need to send them his IDs etc. and he asked for a place when he can do buy without this bullshit. And it's difficult to find info on exchanges whenever they require KYC or not.
I can confirm Binance doesn't.

P.S. Stay away from HitBTC.

I second that opinion.
