@Wolf0

Are there any other kernels you released to the public?
Would appreciate any help.

Btw: this is the transaction ID: https://blockchain.info/tx/5c81ed0ce379c99d31891124659ac3b75c6c9523bcd20134c28b37638340d8be - seems I messed up the fee or something. But the transaction will still proceed, won't it?

Yeah, eventually. And I did the Neoscrypt kernel in SGMiner.

You don't. If you have AMD GPUs you can't compete unless you buy a private kernel from Wolf0 for a couple thousand.

The reason the numbers look so sickly is he's already sold his private kernel to big miners and there is no way you can compete with a public kernel. Get out of GPU mining while you can. It's ASICs all over again only with private kernels and one person raking in all the money. Unfortunately nothing is ASIC-Wolf0 resistant either as he'll develop anything for OCL unless the public implementation is sound (we're talking scrypt levels) and there is no room for improvement.

This miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=616786.700 uses a older leaked version of his kernel, which is still much faster then normal public kernel. That's your best bet and improves hashrate over the typically available SGMiner by 50%. It has a 2% fee, but that's the price you pay. If you scrounge around a bit you can find where his kernel was leaked and use that. His newer ones are still about 10% faster then that, but that's much better then nothing.

I'd highly encourage anyone who's mining using x11 to get it, it improves your odds and also fucks him over as a added benefit. I don't think anyone realizes how detrimental he's been to the community the past few months until this starts getting more light.

that Kernel is madnes... R9 290 hashing on 6700mh/s each.
Thanks for providing.

Is that miner somehow compatible with nicehash?

Ok, already found the reddit thread and did it as Wolf0 stated. Is it true that it donates automatically 2%? If yes, then it's ok if I wont donate anything myself?

Thanks for that awesome help Smiley

The kernels don't donate - girino's miner does auto donate, to him, not me.

Just the noob-word-circus. Cheesy As I think it's the *dll files which handle donations?
Combined your provided *bins from reddit with the Nicehash Sgminer now. Sent you a small donation. Should be incoming within the time BTC payments take. Cheesy
thanks

Thanks!

It´s better to use Onecoin, it´s another system instead of your home computer. !! It's free and it costs nothing, check around. If you think it's interesting you can become an active member later ... otherwise leave it. That's how easy it is. http://www.onecoin.eu/signup/signups    Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

And it's not real mining. /me roflols

Feathercoin is Asic resistant and can only be mined with GPU or CPU. I've been mining the hell out of it since it change to NeoScrypt and find it to be very profitable.

i made some math, and neoscrypt come unprofitable also, where you see all that profit?

Agree, none of the algo is profitable now. Neoscrypt only profit for the first few days when it launch and after that profit drop sharply too.

Hello fellas,

I know this is a general question.

But where is it at the moment the best to time?
I've been running von Nicehash lately.

Are there any alternatives or anything comparable?

Unfortunately all the scams that have been launched have destroyed the "Coin-Launch-Races" that were so much fun in the past.

I'm running 6x R9 280x and 3x R9 290.

I guess you can still mine doge with gpu

Bad suggestion, you can mine doge with scrypt asic and thus the profitability for it is really low and it is totally not worth to mine with GPU. Even x11 profitability is still better.

Okay... the thread got hijacked but I was actually interested in the OP's discussion before all the bickering broke out... ha

So, I'm with the ditch GPU crowd at the moment.  I'm hoping for more power efficient and cost effective GPUs in the future.  I really like the GPU mining game and I love the mostly open source nature of the community so I could definitely see myself getting back into GPU mining.

I still mine with 5x 750ti's and I use the opensource ccminer for that.  There's a lot of community support for it.  I just use miningrigrentals because I like the interface and the ability to fallback to various pools even though ccminer doesn't support failover... the website makes it so that the miner will failover which is really cool.

And where to mine right now really all depends on your intent.  If the intent is to profit then that's a lot more difficult.  Places like nicehash or rigrentals can help improve profits by getting a little bit more than what you'd get by mining on your own at a pool.

If you are looking to gain and collect coins then that depends on what you're interested in.  There are coins that support charity, science, entertainment, etc etc etc.

If its not up to profit, then its better to just buy those alt-coins. You would get more coins out of it and less expenses (electricity bills).

Right, that's why I always ask if folks care about electricity bills and the question was more about where to GPU mine.  I wish I could find a place with free electricity and then I'd run gpu farms.  But... I'm thinking ASICs would still be the way to go and be more preferrable.  Although, ASICS still use electricity but I think ASICS are still more efficient an option for mining.  GPU mining as a method is just sooo tedious.  I'm sick of it lol.

But trend analysis and coin buying does seem like a really good option for gaining coin too.  I've just never been good at it and prefer to put my hands on real equipment that are generating coins.  My tolerance for staring at charts is also very low.  But yeah, if you can buy in the valleys and sell at the peaks you could probably get a lot of coin doing that.

Oh, so now you have customers, not back alley trades?

Unfortunately this is the sorry state of what GPU mining has devolved into. Instead of knowing what the next latest and greatest ASIC is that you'll have to sell your current ones for, you don't know exactly who is designing private kernels in the background and trading them. This is exactly the reason I didn't get into ASICs in the first place, only much worse.

This should change once this gains more light, but he's been profiting off this for the last three or so months (and now apparently even is gloating about it). You even have the audacity to bitch and moan about a lack of donations while doing this. I'm sure you all remember when the difficulty spiked and had nothing to do with BTC prices back in Oct/Aug?

I really should make a new thread for this so you're flogged publicly.
You should get the fuck out of that forum and find yourself a hobby...   Grin

Amen to that Cheesy

Well, W0lf started selling these kernels when he realized nobody was donating for his work. I would have done the same unless I had a huge farm. I don't see why it would be prohibited to get payed for having the skillset needed. And for what its worth, he released his own bins when they where leaked by somebody else.

Honestly, I don't know why you are upset, there will always be kernel developers out there with a faster kernel, just like there will be better workers than you for the job you are applying, you just have to be first. LOL please don't be offended by this but it is how the world works Cheesy

Have to +1 this as well. Wolf0 likely devoted an uncountable amount of hours into not just the development of his kernels, but also the education that enabled him to even take on such projects.

He then released versions for people to use, which they did, and he made very little if any money in donations for all of his hard work, from which so many were then using to profit.

He should charge for his products. I run (well currently down ATM) a 100ish GPU farm, and I had contacted Wolf0 through PM a while back and realized even at 100 GPUs I was too small a player to benefit from buying his custom products.

He's dealing with the major players in terms of mining, and honestly more power to him for making money by doing so. After all thats why most of us are here.

We are just expressing feelings Smiley

But yeah I am also going to sell of 50% of gpus, I'll save a rig with 4x 280x for a while if something new and interesting comes up, thank god that the tsunami of scam coins have passed already and its a bit easier to see what is scam and what is not.
