This is too much drama with all these military-grade vaults for storing private keys to your Bitcoin stash. For anyone to have such an amount then they also have a good knowledge of storing them. I would break the Hodls in smaller amounts in different wallets with their private keys written in parts too saved in different locations.

If I had a such huge amount of btc, taking the keys to vault is not save to me. Bank vault, jewelries vault are been attacked nowadays. If this perpetrators knows any crypto vault, they will attack it, it is just a matter of time before they do. I will prefer burying them in my house with my family alone knows about it.

safe and not secure your crypto wallet is not on where you store it but how you often use your wallet is often easy for hackers to hack your wallet account. many investors carelessly use their wallet addresses so they are easily hacked by hackers

Crypto investors are turning to Military grade vaults to safeguard their Keys. While some prefer to know the Keys by heart, some have their crypto stash in physical dedicated crypto wallets like Trezor and pay big money to have them stored in Nuclear sheltered safe vaults. Take for instance Swiss Crypto Vault who offers Nuclear sheltered vaults to crypto investors. if you had 2000 bitcoins what options would you pick?
The answer is simple, I'll store my private keys in my same old SanDisk flash drive because no one knows that I own 2000 bitcoins. I was storing my private keys on SanDisk flash drive for years and I never had any issues with them thus why go for the military grade vaults or nuclear bunker? are we at war? come on, men, that is just another way of wasting money, period!

I don't see a need for all this high power storage  Grin even if you have 2000 bitcoins. 2000 bitcoin sounds much now but I believe years ago, people hold this and didn't worry about anything, and likewise today, I still believe some people hold this much and more and don't have their PW stored in any military vault and the only way people know how much you own in Bitcoin is because you told them. Your keys on the diary in your home vault can also do this work.
who told you mate that investors in the past did not mind saving their keys? or not aware of the incoming issues?

because those early adopters are the one who looks for safest way to store their coins and what? Diary or Vault? at least you know that those places are the main target of people that will try taking your coins?

I guess it all depends on how much you’re storing, buying a military grade vault just to store a private keys that stores a little amount of crypto, that’s quite funny. I have never really bothered myself that much because the amount I have is not something that I would have to be looking for the keys to heaven to store it there lol. I make use of some notepad to store my keys, and of course I am sure that it is safe. It’s saved both online and offline in my little thick covered journal.

I know that some would say that the online means I used for storing it is risky because they believe that it would be hacked, but trust me I am aware of that and I’m very careful about it. And moreover hackers won’t just pop out of nowhere and hack your system, except you make mistakes that leaves traces online for them to follow.

i prefer personal hardware storage like trezzor without any security.  In addition, we can easily control the hardware wallet that we have at any time.  it's different if we use security such as a safe, it's very difficult for us to control at any time and must be for a certain period of time

I made two copy of my pass phrase and gave them to my grandparents to hold for me. I know they would never try anything because they’re living a country lifestyle and don’t really like technology.
What if they misplace it? or someone stole that from them? then your phrase will be compromised ? though that is a tough but brightfull decision  because yes Older generation don't even know how to deal with technology so they will never got interest in learning what inside of that and how to manage taking it out.
but if someone encourage them and teach them the importance of these then you are in deep trouble .

I'd rather keep my own keys than let other companies or group of people keep my keys.
Not your keys, not your coins.

For me, I already kept it in a storage where I'm the only one who knew it. Maybe its an advantage for me that I'm the only one who knows crypto here in our community because they don't know that I'm holding that huge amount Cheesy. I also kept all of my Bitcoins in different platforms/storages. A huge percentage of my Bitcoins are just in a wallet sitting there while a small percentage of it are in an app earning passive income. Yes they are holding my Bitcoins but I trust them and I'm ready in case the worst happens (I hope not).

it's better not to store the key on a laptop or android because there is a possibility that it can be hacked, it's better to store it in a notebook and store it in a vault, it's safer in my opinion.

Don’t keep all your bitcoins in one place. As the rule says, it’s not safe to put your eggs in a single basket. Keep it diversified to keep it safe.

Ill store it in the the safe place obviously, i wll write in in the paper and put it in the safebox, on my harddrive and set the password for it, and maybe ill copy that files-encripted to all my offline drive, just in case one of from all my drive obsolete or broken.
If all my drives are not working, ill back to my safebox where i can find my password on a paper.

I save it in excel then I password the file, and it's been more than 3 years I've been doing this and everything is fine, I usually send every update with google mail, I'm sure if we activate the password for excel it will be safe because I use software full license from microsoft so everything is safe.

Has anyone here just stored everything in coinbase or gemini and make sure their two factor authorization is set to google authenticator or authy and then that was good enough?
Maybe some person's have tried it but since you have the experience to store it why can't you explain more to enlighten those once that don't know anything concerning it, like to pass the knowledge to one another
