Knowing what will happen in a few seconds , hours , or days is impossible for any person in this whole world and it's no doubt that the greatest mystery of all is tomorrow .
So we really can't predict or speculate on such a long time frame that may hold revolutions , enhancements and life changing inventions , or extinction to man kind .
But such fascinating technology as the "Blockchain" will certainly play a big part in the future of our economical system because it has managed to provide a substitute to what we know as the traditional banking system and it has succeeded on so many levels to bring so much innovation, futuristic ideas and tools that made life easier .

It will definitely be the thing.

And yes, I agree with your prediction that the problem that would arise will be that concerning as to who will regulate the blockchain technology. This problem is pivotal since it will determine the success of all others who invested in Bitcoins and others of like nature.

The digital age has gotten to a point of intrusion whereby even the most powerful of governments can find it real hard to monitor those who transact with it. Hence, since it seems uncontrollable as of press time, there are many control freaks that want it outlawed for the simple reason that it is an evolution that is beyond the control of governments. Of course, all governments across borders demand control from its people. There lies the problem in there.
i think the digital economy cannot take us, becase we have very strong in the world trade market. everybody know about the  bitcoin very well. it is a new and  the easiest way for keeping you with you not with banks. it means that the digital economy can't take easily

What will happen with Blockchain technology in the next 50 years?
In the next 50 years, blockchain would get adopted in all fields both in government sectors as well as private sectors.

I agree, we are already seeing many of the hundreds of different use cases for blockchain technology and I think that we will only see more and more in the future. Cryptos are largely associated with finance but one day I feel they will be used widely across sectors.

I suppose the changes will be seen earlier, in the nearest 8-10 years. Today they have already started to talk about decentralized internet. Less people will start using banks, and banks will have to reduce their commissions.
Banks are just going to evolve and adapt to bitcoin, I'm sure they are thinking about it, if possible they are going to prefer bitcoin to be destroyed but if that is impossible they are going to try to become the winners in this new system, in fact I will not be surprised if banks have already began to buy bitcoin secretively at cheap prices the last time bitcoin crashed so it is possible they are in fact interested that bitcoin gets major adoption to make a lot of money.

Seriously, next 50 years, there will be many technology in Digital economy was created. Blockchain could be one of them or maybe leave behind, this decade many brilliant people which ideas to change the life's including Satoshi. Digital economy are the future ways how's people doing transaction. We can't using primary fiat to do buying stuff anymore, we have shopping online which growing every year. Soon or later, human life will be going to digital world.

But how do you define a blockchain? Is it a digital ledger secured by Proof of Work, completely permissionless and decentralized? Or is it something else like what the ICOs are doing? There is a big difference.

We must first know what a blockchain really is to predict its future, because in some definitions, anything can be a blockchain.

I've done quite a bit of digging into what a blockchain is. After looking at many respectable sources including Andreas Antonopoulis, I've come up with a pretty solid definition linked below:

https://decryptionary.com/dictionary/blockchain/

This comes from my passion project, Decryptionary. It has 200+ definitions, simple visual walkthroughs and word lists by subject. I'd appreciate honest feedback from the Bitcoin Talk group.

What will happen with Blockchain technology in the next 50 years?

Blockchain technology will definitely be used widely in the future, the world is going into phased where technology is being used everywhere. The only question is will it be bitcoin or governments will create a new crypto currency using the same technology. On the current hype that bitcoin is having almost all of the authorities are skeptical about it, they are seeing it as a threat on their current fiat system and might replace it. Bitcoin community doesn't agree on bitcoin being regulated and government won't accept something instantly specially if they can't control it.

What will happen with Blockchain technology in the next 50 years?
I think that with the digital economy, at some point, in the latest of our lives we will be able to see how we have spent all our money thru the years and we can have a general view related to our incomes.

So far if the development in blockchain will continue probably digital currency will last for a long period of time and I think that's what developers are focusing now it is also one of the reason why there are many hard fork to introduce other alts they want to established a more faster and unlimited supply of cryptos that can sustain the increasing world's demand I just hope they will find success out of it and that cryptos will stay forever for us.

it's hard to imagine. As far as I know, the detachment already wants to use in elections, further in education, instead of final exams, although in some countries this has already been done.

While talking about blockchain you guys are only focusing on Bitcoin. But the OP is talking about the technology blockchain and it's larger than just cryptocurrencies.

To be honest the blockchain technology has far more potential than Bitcoin. If a day Bitcoin die, blockchain will still be here. It can be used in so many fields, like banking, real estate, health, insurance, tourism, and so on. And the best part is, since it's a quite new technology, we have seen nothing yet with its potential.

In 50 years the technology will maybe be used for some things we only see in movies

The technology will grow, the blockchain will also grow and have new features, a more efficient and cheaper system. We will see later.

What will happen with Blockchain technology in the next 50 years?
In a perfect world, in 50 years the blockchain technology (and Bitcoin) will replaced fiat money around the world (sounds more like an utopia, tbh)

unfortunately, the govt, central backs, financial companies, multinationals, etc, i don't think they're going to let a decentralized and unregulated system replace their fiat ponzi, they need to keep their profits going, otherwise, heads are gonna roll.

But 50 years is a long time, and realistically, maybe this technology won't replace fiat at all, but i'm 100% sure that blockchain technology will be adopted worldwide and Bitcoin will become a payment option for pretty much everything. But of course, the elite will put regulations and taxes on cryptocurrencies so they can profit from them.
It is funny that governments are going to do everything to avoid bitcoin or other decentralized currencies to succeed when that will help the population of their countries, a currency that has so low inflation and that keeps reevaluating will be better for the world, but they have abandoned their functions long time ago and the only thing they care is about themselves and to maintain their positions of power.

50 years is hell lot of time,in 50 years almost everything is predicted to become digital, maybe there remain no cash and only digital payments for full transparency.blockchain technology will also improve on certain factors as other technologies are improving.stating about the bitcoin or ETH will live or not or what will be its price their prediction is quite a difficult, although few number of possibilities can be formed, maybe some better technology then both these current coins may release that it overshadows both of them.

I might be dead that year but I know there will be a lot of changes.
Just looking at how the technology boosted with just a decade makes you think what it could give more for another one.
Smartphones, robots, ATMs, computers and a whole lot more. It started when the 2nd millennium came.
We can already feel the digital payments but only through fiat currency too.
They might come to their senses that it will be faster with crypto currencies. The government will need to work with merchants so that they can also support this changes that will be made.

The blockchain technology can make the world truly democratic. Thanks to this technology it is possible to hold referendums, elections, etc. It will be cheap and such a vote cannot be falsified. But politicians and billionaires is not necessary. They are fine just because they can not control. Cryptocurrencies can also lose their popularity because they have been the subject of speculation and do not participate in the global economy. Still very vague to make for the future.

In 50years to come, blockchain technology is going to lead us to digital Economic. We have see how this blockchain technology development has shaped the mind of many investors and financial institutions towards digital businesses. Bitcoin has not gotten into the mainstream financial institutions but I think in 10 to 20 years to come we are going to see that fiat systems will be obsolete and cryptocurrency will be the driving force of our economic.
