Well there are so many different coins, and also many promising ones. Next to Ripple, Iota, ByteCoin, etc... there is one coin i think is very underestimated. XINFIN (XDC) since its ICO it rose by 1000% and rightnow its just available on alphaex. In the Next days there will be information about more exchanges where it will be traded. you should check it out.
Because goverments monitoring everything and passing new laws... I have to vote for XSPEC. The most advanced privacy coin there is. I'm pretty confident saying this coin has really bright future ahead.

In my opinion IOTA has huge potencial to achieve atractive price in 2018, many people talking about this coin and recommend this. I think it will be good invest
I will say the anonymous coins will be big in 2018. There will be much gouverments in 2018 who will regulate and controll cryptocurrencies or forbid. Thats why anon coins like XSPEC will be that what people will need in some countrys. With the stealth mode on xspec its possible to use cryptocurrencies in countrys where its forbidden.

Remember when everyone talked up these same coins and maybe a few others last year? But if we look at the ones that made it big, and I do not simply mean only in price, it was the ones with the most solid and recognized development teams. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin (the winner in terms of price percentage actually). And they all took their time, years we are talking about. So do not worry, even if your coin does not make it big in 2018, if it has the right potentials in place, it eventually will.

AION is going to be blockchain 2.0. There is already very big hype around project and you can make many X in 2018 
i have been following the project for a while now. the management team of Aion is extra ordinary. I will not be surprise if AION hit hard this year. I check the coinmarketcap, I cant believe this coin has gone up to $8 just less than 5 month when the ICO was announced. it now in the top 100 crypto now. the coin was below $3 during presale. the crowdsale was cancelled when the team discover they have enough fund to do the project
