Alright I want to mine protoshares. I signed up on Ypool.

And downloaded the "jhprotominer-yvg1900-M7gf-win64-generic" miner.

Now, I can't figure out how to run it. I'm a noob at mining.

How do I start the .exe to run ? Do I have to run it through cmd, if yes then please give the commands, it doesn't works with "jhProtoMiner.exe -o http://ypool.net -u < MY username>. -p -t 4 "

Alright I just figured out it would take 407 days for me to solve a block  Undecided

So, would I only get coins after the whole block is solved.

Do you think I'm better off joining a XPM pool, if yes, recommend me any.

It's been about 12 hours on the i5 mining XPM, how long before I see my first coin?

Used this command in debug window to start mining.
setgenerate true -4

getmininginfo (Data from 12 hours earlier)

I don't know how to decipher this data above, would be great if someone could understand it for me and teach me.
Can anyone look into the data and tell me how long I have to mine to solve one block?

What software do you guys use to mine Primecoins?

Is it the "High Performance Mining Client" from the official site?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/primecoin-hp/files/0.1.2-hp11/

And the local thread for it.

Nvidia is not for mining.
You can mine on CPU: Protoshares, Primecoin, Datacoin

I want to get into as an "early adapter" to mine some coins which in your opinion have a strong back and will rise in value. The pc which I work on has unused cores.
Based on my config below, which one do you think I should mine.

CPU - Intel i5 760
GPU - nVidia GTS 450
RAM - 4GB 1600MHz

Thanks

P.S - I'm an absolute newbie to mining and open to CPU mining
