But I also like low caps, because they could grow more than mid caps.

Ethereum, Monero, Ripple, Waves, Litecoin are the best coins at a moment to invest as all this coins have proved their potential in the past and has given good profits to their investors and even in future it will continue to go higher so if you have diversified your invested in those coins then you will not be disappointed.
This last two months has been a winning spree for the bold and those who can think differently. It used to be that the cycle would go up and down dramatically, but it has seemed to go up, correct, and go up again. I think the key issue is trusting coins/teams/devs that have shown to be solid in the past. This kind of trust has been highly rewarded. Also, working hard. I have missed a lot of opportunity just because I have already put in a lot of time, and didn't want to just allot a little more to coins I did due diligence on in the past. I also have to go with my ideals, like I liked BATA and EGC for what they stood for but didn't invest recently because I got too caught up in just watching the dollars. Last but not least is the idea of keeping a little out of sell orders so that in case the coin rises really high, one still can sell at those extreme times or not at all.
From my point of view in altcoins etherum coin has more potential to grow than remaining other new coins in the current market as other other coins such as monero zcoin and central coin are some of the other coins which may lead to the change in the crypto market in future and in present they are also going fine as well.
I prefer the top Altcoin like Ethereum, monero, waves, ripple etc. And of course includes on my list are the Bitcoin's hard forks (Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold) because they're already proven their value's stability and increasing week after week. If I had to invest I'll choose these top Altcoins although prices are already higher than newer Altcoin today.
It is a most valu able point but now one can say at the right talk about which coin will be grow. We use online around 10 years and around 3 years coin exprience because we all time check new coin with this coinmarketcap. Every one can see this coin value with this market analysis. Al last we can say wevas is a most valu able and it will be a more value able .
My opinion the best Altcoin to grow is Ethereum and Wave , after that Centra coin can be potentially , this is just my opinion , actually every single coin has potential.
As of now, Eth and hard forks such as Bitcoin Cash and Gold that has a potential to be the next Bitcoin. Their value is actually climbing up day after day and week after week.

the Alternate cryptocurrencies world is getting much and much bigger every day there new crypto that is bringing new ideas so it is very hard to determine the best uprising altcoin yet sure there are a fast rate growing ones such as zecash ( my favorite) also dash is coming real hard, Ether, but always check out new alt coins that are listed on bitrex because they are likely gaining some growth. good luck.

Why did you involve Bitcoin? We are talking about Altcoins here, it has been termed Bitcoin because it was the most known cryptocurrency, and after that other coins have been called Altcoins, you might get other people confused.But anyways, Ethereum is the closest one to Bitcoin so yeah, it definitely has the chance to cope up when it comes to price that is. I think centra coin,zcoin,XMR coin are such those altcoins that have potentially grown and these coins would give a tough competition to bitcoin in future i think so. So i think its better to invest over them.

What makes Waves an underrated coin? I am not particularly sure on the project yet.
Currently looking on other altcoins. Maybe NEO or Walton.
So many options actually since there have been a couple of icos who's project has a lot of potential. Thou the there we're a couple of coins that made up my list and these are: ripple, avt, eth, monero, and ark. These altcoins are especially good for long term investment.
