Dadice Fixed Rate.
Definitively offshore tax free countries will benefit from adopting crypto currencies, but tax heaven places have bad taste in countries with high debts as something illegal/evil Cheesy

Don't know, bitcoin is used in so many different country, the only way we could determinate this by finding out in which country bitcoin or other crypto currency is used the most, where it is used the most I would call It crypto currency city or country..

Unless coinmap is out of date - Arnherm is far from a high acceptance rate.  The city is the highest per capita merchants to population for Bitcoin is probably Vancouver.

Here comes the disclaimer - practically no one useful accepts Bitcoin out there.  I don't go to tattoo parlors, don't drink tea, don't buy hemp seeds or luxury vehicles and yet that describes 98% of Bitcoin merchants.  No one useful like a grocery or a decent restaurant (that isn't an ethnic restaurant) seems to accept Bitcoin yet.

The reality of Bitcoin, much like back in 2011, is its' only utility seems to be is buying drugs and weapons online and I don't do that either.  Maybe the one difference now is that we can use Bitcoin on Overstock and Newegg and I admit that's a positive change but unless they offer a 3% discount it offers no advantage over using credit.

Here comes the disclaimer #2 - there's still practically no merchants for Bitcoin yet.

Crypto Currencies are still what $11 billion capitalization?  Still a long way to go when considering the dot.com bubble in the late 1990s was $7 trillion.

I'd like to make a case for Arnhem (Netherlands) being the #1 Bitcoin capital of the world Smiley

After we organized Arnhem Bitcoincity 2 months ago, more businesses have joined (all sorts of businesses: bars, restaurants, cleaning companies, car dealers, ice cream shops, ICT consultancy & development companies, etc) and I doubt there is any city in the world where you can pay at more different places with Bitcoin than Arnhem.

I think many cities will hold "heat" with regards to Bitcoin. I don't believe there will be a legitimate or even self-proclaimed center of crypto currency as I believe (and hope) cities will create a sort-of competition for the adoption of Bitcoin.

I more or less think Bitcoin is going to grow on a massive scale globally that all cities (even with different adoption rates) will be considered "centres". The margins will be so close, I don't know if there will be that much of a difference.

I think Vancouver can still hold a spot in this contentious heat
But more or less it will be decentralized but the leader for now will be one of these Smiley

Kind of hard to say what city will be the center in 1 year and in 5 years

This thread is kind of ironic, because bitcoin is supposed to be DE-centralized, when your asking what will be the center. There will never be a 'center of bitcoin' but there could be cities that happen to support bitcoin more than others.
I think the OP is referring to a place where a higher then otherwise percentage of commerce takes place. I would say that today Vancouver BC is the center of bitcoin commerce.

Seems like you would need some sort of small town that is like an art community.  One of those places people move because it is cheap and other like minded folk end up there.  Then you might have widespread adoption.  Are there any famous libertarian small towns in the US like this ?

Berlin.

I'm thinking Berlin will rank pretty high up, but it will be either Berlin, Hong Kong, Tokyo, or Toronto. Canada is still pretty free when it comes to Bitcoin, it's just no unlicensed online casinos (Which is common practise anyways) and exchanges have to register to prevent money laundering, like every other currency exchange.

Businesses are pretty much free to do as they please, as long as there aren't illegal items for sale.

I really don't know how this would work though there can't be a single node which is classified as a center or are you suggesting that the center has thousands of nodes run 24/7 to be classified as the center of Bitcoin.

OP are you trying to suggest that a node run out of this so called cypto city could classify the city as running the node

that controls crypto
