Lol, his surname "moneymaker" really is a fun part of this whole story. That story is quite possible, I am sure not many people earned 2.5 million dollars from a single 86 dollar ticket, but it is possible to spend less than $100, even sometimes zero like me, to join and win something.
I keep doing that to this day, never won anything like I said, but if there is a free tournament that I can join, which usually doesn't have much reward, then I will join in on it to follow the past success again if possible. I watched a lot of poker videos, not just real games but lessons and I never really got that much better, but the possibility of an underdog beating the favorites is quite possible in poker for sure.
I think every poker player, anyone! It starts with the freerolls, which is what these tournaments you mention are called.
Please! but for a little while it's fine, and I'm not saying that from time to time one or the other, but there is tournaments from $0.01, really! Its burning your time, I prefer to spend $1 than play a freeroll always, you are losing valuable time that is priceless.
Maybe the money to bet is not your priority, but you are saving money and wasting time, honestly not is good being a freeroll player for the rest of your life, it's not good, it's a bad habit.
You lose time that you should spend on something else, maybe it's not your case but it's the limbo where many players fall... in the opposite passive case of the player who believes that because he doesn't invest money he doesn't lose anything, you lose something worse, time!
The freeroll games, playmoney are temporary entertainment or training to rehearse a certain betting strategy, try a game, this type of aimless addiction is so difficult to detect for the mere fact, that it hides behind the loss of money, but spending hours and hours every day playing play money or freeroll is just as detrimental as the traditional case.
______
Moneymaker is Money Maker.
By the way Moneymaker has not won nothing of the kind again although it must be recognized that he is still active and achieves some ITMs in the WSOP, which has allowed him to show that he knows how to play.
There is a saying in the WSOP; a bracelet can be won by anyone who paid a buyin. Winning 2 is showing that it was not a matter of luck.
my initial comment can be understood as very personal to you, but nothing to do with it, is something I would say to anyone, my apologies if you understand it very directly to yourself.
