Which gives you a higher rate?  Those that use gemini, do you need a us sms cell number in order to use the account after verification?  Or does your 2fa such as authy or google authy work for it?

Exactly the best wallet for beginners will be coinbase. He has a convenient interface without unnecessary interference and it is considered safer.

reliably I prefer coinbase. Recently, there has been a lot of outrage going on about gemini's horrible lack of support and funds being stuck/ not appearing on users account. Recently, gemini has also encountered a problem, where users were being double charged. So if you want a site that has lower fees and better user satisfaction overall, i strongly recommend coinbase over gemini. coinbase makes things easy and its charges are more lower to other coin exchange platform.....Coinbase is user friendly and easy to use for beginners to start trading with BTC, LTC ETH and XRP. the sign up and verification are easier and takes shorter time but for now they are more strict and taking more time before you can make a high amount of transaction.

possibly neither of these two!
decentralized exchanges are  so much better if we can find a good one of course. the current exchanges for bitcoin and altcoins are all untrustworthy and highly risky to use. in fact risk of exchanges is one of the risks of trading cryptocurrencies and it is one of the reasons why market is not yet big enough.
The problem with decentralized exchanges is that they don't allow people to trade in the exact same way as centralized exchanges allow them to do, and as long as that remains the same, people won't make the shift.

Another major aspect is that in order to trade crypto versus fiat on decentralized exchanges, you are still dependent on a central party, which directly lowers the decentralized purpose of such an exchange.

The only way to truly enjoy a decentralized trading experience, is to stick to coin versus coin trades. Everything involving fiat or shitty Tether, makes you still depend on a central party unfortunately.

Actually I like both between coins and gemini but if still have to choose I choose coinbase because it looks easy to understand and easy to operate.

I like Coinbase, as it is trusted and verified, and, there is Litecoin, apart from BTC and ETH. Also, the process of purchasing cryptocurrencies is real simple. The only advantage of Gemini is lower fees, but it has daily limits which is really annoying. So if you're purchasing a heavy money and don't care much about fees Coinbase would be the best option.

Right now I would say coinbase. I don't know Gemini very well so I'm basing my opinion on what I read, so I could be wrong, but from the feedback I've been collecting I think that Gemini lags more than coinbase, and has a weaker interface. I know Gdax interface, and a few other exchanges as well, and although they are nothing special is you compare it to what you can get from a trading bot, they are definitely the best I've saw so far in normal crypto exchanges.

As far as security, both seem fine but from all I know, coinbase is the only exchange that has insurance cover from their digital assets, up to "250k per customer, so I would say Coinbase is better.

Hopefully they are finally updating to segwit, so that is a good point as well.

I first started off with Coinbase and has since stayed with it till now. Coinbase is very user friendly and easy to use for beginners to start trading with BTC, ETH, LTC and BCH. Previously the sign up and verification were easier and takes shorter time but for now they are more strict and taking more time before you can make a high amount of purchase.

Overall I would recommend Coinbase to those new to cryptocurrencies. Its a good place to start!

Gemini is better for cryptocurrency.

There are a lot of problems in Coinbase and a lot of people are getting overcharged money for no reason. Coinbase has caused a lot of problems and it is not a good thing for cryptocurrency.

I agree that Coinbase is good for newbs based on its easy interface, but credit card transactions are now treated as cash advances by payment processors, making them less enticing. I believe Coinbase may still be worthwhile for debit card transactions.

If you are completely new to the crypto currency field it is better to use coinbase because it has user friendly interface when compared to other exchanges and it has only four coins so it is not confusing too much for the newbies. But in my country the coinbase exchange is not available yet so I didn't use it personally for buying cryto currency and I never know about Gemini which is an exchage or what?I always use local exchanges because it has less fee.Blockchain.info wallet also coming with built in wallet hwere you can buy ethereum and bitcoin so you may try that also because fee is way cheaper.

If you are a complete noob, the Coinbase interface is very user friendly. Gemini is OK, but it doesn't seem to have the liquidity ofthe other exchanges.

Here are the top markets for bitcoin:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets

GDAX (which is owned by coinbase is at #7, while Gemini is at #27).
