Without any distinction as to which type of exchange we're talking about, I'd say the safest option out there is Binance's P2P. It's safe, secure, and you're obliged to check your wallet first before you go around selling the cryptocurrencies to the other person unlike other P2P methods. Their P2P interface is the easiest to understand out there as well. and the plethora of buyer and seller options to choose from allows every investor out there to really weigh in his choices and invest in whatever he feels the best.

At first I was using binance p2p, someone sent funds to my wallet in bitget & I decided to try p2p , I was literally scared but to my greatest surprise the value dropped real early in my account.. so yes the both are good for p2p

Most will say binance as it has the largest user base and can generate massive volumes. This is a valid point but if you have any local exchange or service provider that offers P2P services and can provide the service you require, then you should use it. Sometimes these experiences provide extra benefits but always look for customer reviews from different sources. If they have good customer service go for it.
In fact, most people shout "Binance" from the heavens because it has so many users and so much volume. But isnt Binance still a controlled exchange that acts as a go-between? Put everything in one place, everywhere. There are highs and lows, and its kind of like a fun gambling site, where everyone bets on how trustworthy a central entity is. Your point about local P2P services is valid; there is an unspoken appeal to being able to connect with your trade partner directly, cutting out the middle man.

Of course, each site has good and bad points. As you correctly said, customer reviews are the key. Before you act, look, look, and look some more from different angles. Great customer service is great, but so is making sure the platform is honest. When you're making such important choices, make sure you dont just skim the top.

Yeah binance p2p is really nice and  also well secured, there's still others that still trying also like.
•Bybit
•Kucoin
•Super EX.
But still binance still the one I base on the most. Depends on the users though, But i will advice you to continue using binance because to me is the safest.

If you're looking for a centralized exchange, Binance is considered the best for P2P transactions. However, if you want something different, I recommend trying out Bybit! Their P2P transactions (BTC to fiat) are smooth, and their interface is user-friendly. Just keep in mind that most centralized exchanges require KYC verification for outgoing P2P transactions. If you prefer to avoid KYC, you might want to explore decentralized exchanges instead.
OP is looking for an alternative to Binance. So, Binance is not the best P2P exchange for him.

Try using bisq exchange. This might be the exchange that you are looking for. I find it safe, and you are comfortable using it as an anonymous user. However, you may find it troublesome as the transactions take time. So, you just have to be patient while using it.

Bisq is your best option, but the problem is always finding the necessary liquidity or having someone to do the deal with you. If you are prepared to wait, it is the best solution. Otherwise, searching through several P2P sites would be the best. The advantage of Binance is the presence of a large number of user base, which makes executing transactions faster.

Using a decentralized exchages, bisq is the best offer one can take, in addition to this, you may also consider hodl hodl as another recommendation, this are exchanges that will give you no stress on use, the convenience is there and together with the trust, they are also a p2p exchages, Binance is not a decentralized exchange, it's a centralized one and i don't see it having any much difference it have o er the decentralized one that makes it more preferred.

Do people still use P2P in person? I know it was big about a decade ago when Bitcoin was fairly new and there weren’t many bitcoin exchanges in certain countries. However these days it doesn’t seem like it’s worth the risk meeting a stranger and dealing with cash.

If you don’t want to KYC you can always use a bitcoin atm. Sure the fees are large but unless you are buying large sums it’s not a bad option for many. I also remember on localbitcoins there was fees also for P2P it wasn’t as low as a exchange. But not as high as a bitcoin atm.
P2P trade in person is really good choice, but the same being used as a way to steal people's money caused stopping of the trading in person feature. Earlier I've used those service and with some person it used to be really good. We meet at the common spot and exchange the fiat and cryptocurrency and move on once things got settled. Though it lets the other person know us, it was kind of good way of trade according to me.

Usage of bitcoin ATM is really bad. The transaction fee is really big. It also request for the KYC, for a which it is good to make use of the exchanges. For users who find it easy to access the ATM could find it good.

bitcoin to ? Fiat to ?

What kind of currency (thing) you want to receive, or send, that's mostly basic.
So, what you receive from the counterparty should be the start of where to go, that in itself defines you simply if your best option is DEx, CEX or as simple as using an escrow.
Always users tend to think of a P2P as sending you bitcoin and/or deposits in Fiat. (vice versa)

Anyway, stay away from p2p Fiat, even DEX.

i believe the OP is referring to converting his crypto to his fiat. and we don't know what fiat currency he wants here. but aside from binance p2p, i can recommend kucoin p2p. however, he needs to check if his fiat is available in their platform. quite reputable for me aside from binance. thought there are other platforms that have been endorsed with. that is if you have no prob submitting your kyc. on the other hand, for anonymous p2p platforms, you should be very cautious dealing with people.

To be fair, CEX offers a better experience but the issue is privacy and people who don't care about that should stay at CEX. For those who value privacy and identity, DEX is definitely the choice but will be quite more inconvenient than CEX.

So would you give up your privacy for a better user interface, you won't value decentralized exchange until you're in a position when power is been abuse to punish you then you'll value the power of decentralization. We shouldn't encourage CEX P2P because they're misleading the majority of of people joining the industry. Many don't even realize that there's a decentralized P2P service existing as when you mentioned P2P, the first thing that comes to their mind is Binance exchange. Centralized exchange are taking out the true benefits of Bitcoin and it should be of our concerns. If we ignore CEX, we can make use of DEX and when they see the volume increasing more companies will be force to make development in this area and better the users interface but when we neglect the sector and focus on CEX, more development and investment will be pushed towards that sector and keep making them better.

If you already use Binance P2P, one of the best centralized exchanges we have, why would you want to find an alternative?  if you are thinking of looking for another centralized exchange then I think there will be no better solution than Binance.

Whereas all centralized exchange are basically the same but not all will be obsessed with power and control as Binance Exchange is. Most of them are just after their profits and don't care about the control like CZ is with Binance exchange so using others instead of Binance will be ideal instead of giving them more control. I prefer Kucoin to Binance and I believe others will do the same. But the main reason for looking for an alternative is because we don't want to use centralized services, we want privacy and full control. If you don't have a laptop to make use of https://bisq.network/ effectively then you can try other decentralized P2P exchanges that are listed on https://kycnot.me or better still make use of your local merchant on your locally that is trustworthy instead of trusting centralized services that can sell your data for their profits or to the government.

You haven’t specify the kind of exchanges you are looking for, is centralized exchanges or decentralized exchanges.

In my perspective of the best exchanges i see decentralized exchanges as the best, because with them your privacy and anonymity is intact not compared to centralized exchanges where most of them request for KYC before you can do perform P2P.
So if you’re looking for non KYC then visit kycnot.me, but if it is KYC exchanges then there are exchanges like KuCoin, OKX, MEXC and more.

You can read Ratimov’s threads
non KYC exchanges

These exchanges you have recommended are in the lines of non KYC exchanges and do not incorporate the feature of peer2peer trading as per request of the OP.

The majority of exchanges have P2P features whether they are centralized or decentralized. But as many people mentioned above, P2P on decentralized exchanges is not convenient and has much lower liquidity than P2P on centralized exchanges. I used several exchanges and have not seen any without P2P features but people still like and focus a lot on Binance and OKX.

I don't know why OP wants to find an alternative to Binance when it is the best exchange we have, maybe he is looking for a decentralized exchange.

I have been using Binance P2P and it's working fine for me. It also depends on what your priority is. If you want privacy, you should simply go and look forward to Decentralized platforms.
If you are looking for something more convenient, then you can try with a Centralised Exchange. Above you can see people have already suggested some great options for both.

The exchanges i listed above all have the peer2peer feature. The centralized ones like KuCoin and OKX are one of the top exchanges after Binance for Peer2peer transactions. Also the Decentralized ones on the Kycnot site also support P2P. My pick is the Bisq due to his decentralization, also AgroDesk has been promoted too on the forum and you can see many forum members also given their support on the exchange.

Which is the best crypto exchange for P2P transactions ?  I am looking for a good alternative to Binance P2P.
I think for p2p on centralized exchanges currently Binance is still very good. I also often use p2p services if the amount of sales or purchases I make is only small. Because usually if I sell crypto and withdraw it to my account via a local exchange in my country, I will incur quite a large fee. So I avoid it if it's a small transaction. But in fairly large transactions I prefer to use local exchange services only.

My experience in P2P transactions on Binance is also quite comfortable and safe. I havent encountered any significant problems while using it. Just choose users who have good ratings and have good reviews. and dont forget to look at the average transaction speed of these users. Because there are some users who are a little late in releasing or responding. And that can be a bit annoying.
Binance, after all, acts as an intermediary, a middleman if you will. It is important to know the difference between these two types of p2p because real p2p is decentralized, meaning that there is no one person controlling the process.

Your emphasis on user reviews and transaction speeds is commendable. But lets also talk about the problem: Binance does seem safe, but relying only on user reviews and scores may make you trust the wrong things. Its true that reviews can be skewed and that speed doesn Embarrassedt always mean reliability. Always think things through and be critical. That much attention should be paid to your hard-earned crypto.

To put it bluntly, P2P on Binance is no longer P2P in the true sense because the transaction has the intervention of a middleman and here it is Binance. But it can be said that P2P on Binance, or centralized exchanges, is still the choice of the majority of people because of convenience such as high liquidity, cheap transaction fees, and fast transactions.

If you have ever traded P2P on binance, the most effective way to choose a trader is based on reviews and ratings, there is no second way. But in the unfortunate event that your transaction has a problem, it is not a big problem if you comply with Binance's regulations. I remember they have a complaint department during the transaction so no one can scam you or take your money. Their only problem is the KYC process that many people don't like.

I expect that you are looking for an alternative to a decentralized exchange platform. For this alternative, you can use https://bisq.network and https://agoradesk.com/, these two platforms have been used by quite a lot of users globally and have quite a good reputation on this forum. You can choose between these two platforms and adjust which one you feel is most suitable according to your needs.
