I will be okay with just 21 bitcoins, it's just that the prices will keep going up until an equilibrium is established after all the unmined Bitcoins are mined and I'm hopeful 21 BTC then would be worth so much and so I wouldn't need more.

Need some spare btc for a new PC
1 million dollars in BTC equivalent after taxes. Enough to have a decent life, travel around the world and be financially independent. Not enough to have a lavish life in a huge mansion driving a super car but who needs that anyway?
Do you think $ 1 million is enough for your life? I think it's just enough for you in a short time, your life is very long, and it's hard to say how much is enough for you. We all have greed, money is never enough, what is important is the way we use it. I used to think that a million dollars was enough, but now I just want to get the most I can.

No matter how much money you've got, if you don't know how to manage it, you'll be losing everything in quite some time. Just look at the most of lottery winners, they all went broke.

with unleast $1mil in bitcoins, you'll be able to start something with that money. Invest it in something to keep the money flowing back in, even with lower sum you're still able to do something.

So at the end, it's not that much about the amount of money but what you do with it and how you manage it.

It depends on your current country or the place where you are living. No matter if you have lots of money if the cost of living there is high, the value of your money is not that much. And it also depend on the value of Bitcoin in the future. We don't know if will continue to increase in value or if it will depreciate.

Yes it does depend on where you live and what country you live in, because it really depends on the cost of living. You said so yourself, not necessarily a millionare but with a house, nice car and a decent life. Now let me ask you this, how much would you like to spend to build a house and of course if your building a house you buy the lot too so that's another thing to spend and for the car' like what kind of nice car are you eyeing for, around how much would that cost? You probably need a lot of BTC to achieve those things and its maintenance of course, then compute around how much minimum BTC you would want to save now for you to be rich someday.

The more wealth you have, the more wealth you need to maintain your lifestyle.

If you want to live in a big house, expensive car and luxury goods, it will cost a lot to maintain all of that.

Best thing to do imo is really set a huge chunk of your coins aside for the future and allow say 10% for spending (and maintaining what you bought e.g. car insurance, maintenance cost, taxes, etc.).

It's all about money mangement. Especially if this thing comes crashing down after you bought some stuff with a high upkeep, you will be forced to sell sooner rather than later.

By rich I mean.. a nice house.. a nice car... a decent life... not necessarily a millionaire, just less struggle in general

I have a different mindset than you, in my opinion, wealth is not expressed by what you own, it only reflects in part. The wealth really depends on how much money you have, and we can hide that money or let people know. However, smart people will never publicize their money. Bitcoin is a good place to do it.

It depends on where you live. Cost of living a differ from places to places. You could lead  a happy life with just $5000 a year(!!!) in a developing counter without any issue. But here in US that's a whole different story. You would last more than few months.
To be honest, there isn't a minimum amount you would need to have to be rich one day. Price is volatile and you wouldn't know what the price would be in future. Best to store some moderate amount.

There wont be any specific answer to this question, as it all depends upon how the price would be and how well the network is going to adapt in the future,we have seen some difficulties to upgrade the network at this point even though we are having some issues with the transaction delays and if things like these cannot be sorted out then it is really difficult to predict the price.

I think 10 btc in place I already have a fairly high exchange rate, and with that value for me is enough to open a business opportunity, although belonging to a small business, but with capital of that I certainly can do various business activities both offline and business online.
But to get amount of 10 btc is certainly not easy, requires hard work and a relatively long time in achieving it.

The term rich is very much debatable as there is a different definition of rich per country, but from my point of view, rich would mean that you hold a minimum of $1 million in liquid funds.

Currently, people already struggle to collect themselves a full Bitcoin, so tell me, how will anyone will ever get rich from holding just that?

Ok, people manage to collect themselves up to 3BTC throughout the years, the price continues to go up and reaches $15,000 ~ then you're still not rich.......

It depends really, what will be the bitcoin value later.
It's really difficult to predict bitcoin value even in one day, and much more difficult for 10 or 20 years.
With current BTC price, 30 BTC will be enough to make me reach.

Meh.
I'd say that you can have 1BTC / month or around $3000 / month and have a decent living. Since you can always get some profits from other things. Depends also on how you want to live.

On another note you can buy a Tesla for ~55 BTC over on OpenBazaar. So if you have let's say 500BTC that's almost 1/10th just on an awesome car. So it's always up to the individual asking the question as well as geography.
You could, but definitely need to consider the place where you live.. in many countries Bitcoin isn't regulated and you can't declare your earnings; spending big amounts of undeclared cash will result in no good

That's definitely true. But I'm not sure spending $3,000 / month of undeclared money would get you in that much of trouble. There's always some ways to get around it as well, if you really would want to.

Considering this is thread regarding how much BTC you'd need to consider yourself rich I'm guessing that moving to a new country where you sort of knows how it works would be step 1.

I'd probably move to some chill country where you can bribe gov. officials, that would result in no problems for a while Cheesy

It depends on where you live and the lifestyle of the rich, I don't know how much money the rich have and how much they spend it, but I think after imagining the lifestyle of the rich maybe 10btc per month is enough to make you rich.

But according to what I know the lifestyle of the rich is like the person who spends the money, for example they do not see the nominal amount they spend every month and the way out of the country, maybe I think more than 10BTC to get it Every month at least nearly 200btc he needs.

Lol.. Remember that with every expensive purchase you make there's always maintenance to accompany those purchases. A big house for example (depending on where you do buy it) could run you several bitcoins each month. So after not too long those 1000BTC could start to shrink quite significantly. If you are smart and plan your purchases well you may not need to worry though. Gotta be smart Wink
