usually to mien bitcoin you need cgminer nothing else or you look at bfgminer you can find them here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=42.0

the diff now is crazy high, not comparable with 2011 and 2012, 2013 was the last year of gpu mining with bitcoin, if you don't have an asic now and 0.05 elcectricity you are wasting time here

yeah i was planning to mine bitcoins lol. when i was doing it in 2011 i made a bout 1 bitcoin every 2 weeks, then about 1 a month in 2012. you believe i will make less than 1 coin every month if i tried doing it again today?

EDIT: sorry just skimming some threads i realize lots of people saying the electricity cost will make it far from worth it with a simple setup like mine. thank you for your reply though !

Are you mining Bitcoin with that?  If you are, you're clearly not up to date with modern ASICs and what the difficulty is like these days.  GPU mining is totally worthless.

Your main hope to gain Bitcoin with that is by mining altcoins and converting it to Bitcoin.  You could use systems like Nicehash or just basic pools like Multipool which convert between different currencies which are the most profitable at the time.  You could even do it manually with websites like WhatToMine.

If you want software for that sort of thing, sgminer is probably your best shot.

hey so i used to have this same computer setup mining coins back in 2011-2012, during that time i used the program GUI miner.

now when i open GUI miner i get an error message "the specified module could not be found load library pythondll" and another one about this "python" file or something. i tried to download the program again but still same issue. not sure if this is because im now running windows 10.

so my real question is if anyone can recommend a fairly easy to use mining program that will work with my setup. also i will not be mining "solo" or anything i will be mining with a pool, i believe its called. if that makes a difference.

any help is appreciated

windows 10 pro 64 bit
AMD athlon II X4 640 processor 3.0 ghz
4 GB ram

not sure if you need any other information but let me know ill try to find it.
