To buy USDT (Tether) at the best price, you have several options:

1. P2P (Peer-to-Peer) Exchange
-LocalBitcoins: A platform that allows you to buy USDT directly from other users with various payment methods.
-Paxful: Similar to LocalBitcoins, allows direct transactions with other users.
-Binance P2P: Binance also offers a P2P platform to buy USDT from other users at competitive prices.

2.Trusted Exchange:
-Binance: One of the largest and most trusted exchanges offering a wide range of USDT trading pairs with high liquidity.
-Coinbase Pro: Provides USDT trading with high speed and security, but may not always offer the best prices compared to P2P platforms.
-Kraken: This exchange is also trusted and offers USDT trading with various currency pairs.

Always make sure to check the platform's reputation and security before making a transaction, and consider any fees that may be charged for trading or withdrawals.

It will be better to buy USDT from direct exchanges, so many trusted exchanges, as like i will recommend to use Binance, most popular and trusted exchange on the market, but if it’s a centralized exchange so it’s require to KYC, you have to pass KYC to any transaction here, you can also use their P2P it’s very simple and you can deal without any risk.

USDT is not volatile or its almost fixed rate in comparison with USD,
Just wanted to know more ways to invest in it...
USDT is a stablecoin, so you cannot really invest in it in the real sense of the word, i mean make profits from it, except you are from a country whose currency is struggling from a high level of inflation and fiat devaluation, you can thus convert some of your fiat into USDT, so that will basically be moving your money into USD.

That being said, remember that USDT is centralized, it is issued by a centralized institution, thus the failure of that institution would be costly for hodlers of USDT, another thing is that this same institution can freeze your USDT anytime, even if you keep it in your non-custodial wallet, and lastly, we cannot be sure that every USDT is backed 1:1 with the USD.

Don't mention it.

Yeah, it's not volatile because it is one of the known stable coins out there and its value is tied with the US Dollars and that's why. If you want to invest for more using USDT or however amount you have in there. Go into exchanges that you're using and check out the cryptos that might catch your interest there. Or simply go to coinmarketcap.com for your reference and see which crypto there is attracting you to buy.

always stick where liquidity is abundant and I think it'd be binance since their BTC/USDT pair alone already having volume worth 1 billion in just 24h, but of course any other reputable exchange could work, be sure to pick the S-tier one.

but usually different country have different best way to get USDT, so I think it depends on your country, if there's local exchange that works seamlessly with your bank account you might want to use that instead.

According to the claim, USDT is just the same  as USD since it's believed to be pegged to USD, but one difference between USDT and USD is that USDT can be devalued if anything happens to the issuance company, just like what happened to USTC, the Lunalab stable coin. But for the main time, 1 USDT is equivalent to one USD.
this is true but I think as long as tether keep disclosing their audit in regard of reserve everything will be fine.

if OP ever curious about transparency of tether just see here and make your own judgement https://tether.to/en/transparency/?tab=usdt

but luna's UST failure mainly contributed from depegging caused by the flawed system that it has, if i remember correctly UST is algorithmic stablecoin using mint and burn mechanism meanwhile USDT is not algorithmic and instead backed by reserve directly which equal to market cap as far as I understand.

Hello bitcoinbers,

I am looking for options to buy USDT.

Any information related to where one can buy USDT at best value.
Any p2p or trusted exchange.

From your profile, all indications says you are from Nigeria board and that mean it's no longer a news that Nigerians have been restricted from doing p2p transactionbon many centralized exchange but there are some good  with high liquidity in p2p trading and the only one I have used is Bybit, personally I haven't have any bad experience with them but there has been some allegations against them about suspending users account without doing dully investigations.

We have others like Yellowcard and Remitano still offer services for Nigeria to trade usdt to local currency and vice verso and soare like Bitcoin and xrp but the problem with these exchanges is that they can be threatened like the way Binance wee attack and force to release users trading activities so they can do investigations on money laundering and fraud which is good but there is always political interest on such things and that is very bad for privacy, Binance didn't allow them and that's why they Banned exchange like Binance and force OKX to exit Nigeria market.

Hello bitcoinbers,

There are several exchanges that offer p2p services depending on your country of origin. For instance, Binance offers p2p services but not to Nigerians and some other countries. If you are a Nigerian, you can use Bybit or Bitget and you can comfortably buy with fiat. There are also many questionable platforms so you have to be careful of the platform you are using to trade.

If you don't like CEX, you can use DEX such Bisq to buy Bitcoin and use some anonymous exchanges to swap to USDT.

If you're looking for an exchange that puts KYC as mandatory, you can try to take Binance, Bybit, OKX, or even kucoin.

If you're looking for an exchange site that doesn't require your KYC, you can go to MEXC. I've used this for years. They're reliable and charge low fees, too. They're better than other exchange sites.

Or if you're a Metamask user, then buy it directly from your Metamask using cash or debit.
There's no mention about what currency or crypto op is using for this exchange, but i am assuming it's fiat money, as if it would be crypto, then OP would probably be familiar with places where you can buy USDT.

And if OP is using fiat money for buying, wouldn't he/she automatically be kycked by the exchange as fiat money transfers leave a trace that can and will be used to identify the sender. Also most banks are these days familiar about crypto exchanges and even they would know that money has been send to exchange.

And "best value" is a strange demand when buying usdt because 1 usdt is always very close to usd value. Maybe op means transfer costs, which means that op should use pol, arb or bsc for those. Or exchange fees, which at least in CEXes aren't significant.

What OP should avoid is using ERC-20 based usdt because fees and swap could end up being a lot.

Check bestchange for the difference of USDT and local price that you prefer. It lists several exchangers where you can buy USDT.
The platform is easy to use if you just want to check the rates from selecting the currency you'll use for buying USDT.

The best rate is always in centralized exchange, P2P sometime give higher value, but you need to wait very long to fill your order. Since you're want to buy USDT aka stable coin, the price difference will not be much.

If you're looking for an exchange site that doesn't require your KYC, you can go to MEXC. I've used this for years. They're reliable and charge low fees, too. They're better than other exchange sites.
It's not possible anymore, Mexc now ask KYC to every users, I used to use Mexc, but after this new update, I haven't use it again.

Hello bitcoinbers,

You can spend a few minutes visiting CMC. You will get what you want.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/

I never recommend that you buy from p2p, but it is better to buy USDT through an exchange site.

Go to top centralize exchange like binance and other which offer p2p trade features here read this instruction https://p2p.binance.com/en

Also here on Bybit https://www.bybit.com/en/learn/crypto/buy-tether

Don't deal with certain individual saying that they can do a p2p  transaction with you online since maybe you can spot a scammer in that set up. Just buy your bitcoin on legitimate platform for your safety since lots of scammers wandering around and attack you especially if they know that you have money to spend.

Have you ever heard of a bestchange (aggregator of exchangers) that has been operating on the exchanger market for over 16 years? You can find all the necessary information about exchangers on their website (it's intuitive).

You can even exchange cash for USDT (ERC/TRC/BEP20) with them, which will correspond to the spirit of P2P as in the good old days. Smiley

Aside from P2P, doesn't Binance allow direct deposit from a card or bank transfer for Indian citizens?

They are now FIU compliant but I am not sure whether they have started allowing direct fiat deposit to Indian user. Frankly I have never made a fiat purchase on Binance so I will not be able to comment. The only method that I am aware of is P2P trade which some people were doing earlier but have now stopped due to scams.

I would have recommended you Binance P2P to buy USDT with fiat but it seems you are from India therefore I won't recommend it as their are lot of scammers as merchants. If you want to buy USDT with other crypto then Binance is recommended. For making purchase using fiat it is better to use a local exchange in India of you are based in India.
Those Binance P2P scammers can only succeed in scamming someone who is new to the game and not an old fork like the OP, and if you are smart enough, it can only be delayed, but you will definitely get what you paid for or get refunded, which is why it's advice to use and pay only to accounts that match with the seller's name.
