Not sure I like it like this but it is what it is.
Yep. Have you tried other apps that people recommended earlier like Delta and Cointracker? Cointracker seems popular in iOS and does have good reviews.

I would use Blockfolio if I am more a trader guy, and I would use Delta if I just want to monitor my assets.
Blockfolio is gone. It became FTX app when it was acquired and now that FTX blew up so does the app Embarrassed

I may have to try either Delta or Cointracker , only thing is I have just spent hours logging all my transactions on Coingecko  Undecided

I mainly use the tracker on my phone and it just doesn't sit well with me knowing the 'total cost' is incorrect.

I have realized that this problem only occurs on those cryptos in my portfolio that I have both bought & sold, it doesn't make note of the sell amount therefore my overall cost is not reduced it stays the same.

Oh I get what you mean. So this is not exactly a problem, just a way of how Coingecko record your trades. The amount of sell transaction will not reduce your cost, instead it will be recorded in "Proceeds". The overall PnL then will be evaluated by:

Code:
PnL = Holdings + Proceeds - Cost

In my example:
  • I bought 100 $DYDX at $1.84. Total cost = $184.
  • I sell 50 $DYDX at $2. Proceeds = $100
  • I'm still holding 50 DYDX, with current price at ~$1.83. Total holdings = $91.42
  • My PnL would be = $91.42 + $100 - $184 = $7.42

Not sure I like it like this but it is what it is.

Other trackers I have used have a much easier way of keeping track of how much you have spent exactly.

Thanks for confirming anyway.

all the trackers are the same. But it is preferable to use the app that is updated frequently, allows to make backups or import/export data, would be great if has a desktop version and synchronization, and if it has a free version, than it should be ads free.

I have an experience of using Delta and Blockfolio apps. I have used Delta, because after an update Blockfolio crashed and I could not get info from it (all I could do is to install it on different device). I dont like Delta, because it sometimes shows me "oooops, smth went wrong" and did not update prices, so you have to restart app several times. When "time is money", that aint good. I liked that Blockfolio supported more altcoins and you can trade directly from that app.

I would use Blockfolio if I am more a trader guy, and I would use Delta if I just want to monitor my assets.

I have a screenshot but can't see how to upload the image  Undecided
-snip-

Upload the screenshot to an image hosting service like imgur, and then put the link inside an img tag:

Code:
[img]URL_HERE[/img]

Make sure the link ends with the image extension (.jpg or .png) otherwise the image won't show.

So I am using Coingecko now , but there is something I am confused with.

With Bitcoin for example it says I am 15% up however ‘Holdings value’ is less than ‘Total cost’.

Shouldn’t the holdings value be more than my total cost if I am 15% up?

This is assuming by total cost they mean how much I have invested overall?

Anyone who uses coingecko, could you explain above as doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah if your PnL is up 15% the value of your holdings should be greater than your total cost. Anyway, are you sure that 15% is your PnL and not simply the coin's 24h price change? It would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot of your portfolio dashboard to clarify this.

My vote definitely goes for Delta Investment tracker. It's cleanest, gui is very user friendly, and it's versatile as you can track not only cryptos, but indices, NFTs, Stocks, Funds, commodities etc.
It's definitely worth upgrading to pro too to get more insights. But free version works fine as well.

I’m just using the apps of my wallet to monitor my tokens, like A hard wallet for my long term hold, metamask for the tokens and trust wallet for other coins and tokens.

Since the end of Blockfolio I didn’t find any alternative, I just focus on looking at each wallet to see its real time value though having that tracker can actually save you time and probably more convenient to look at your holdings. If you can’t still find a good app, just search it on your chrome and it can be good for now.

I have always used ‘Coin Portfolio’ which was OK however it has not been working today and think I need to find a better app to track my portfolio.

Just wondering what everyone uses?

Ideally free app would be best but I wouldn’t mind paying if it was worth it.
For me the best tracker is coingecko app. Im not sure though if its work on Apple but possibly it does. There are plenty of assets listed right away even newest projects and they usually update the volume when there is a new market that needs to average its price and market cap.

Despite the UI being oldschool-ish, CoinGecko does the job well. Add the fact that you wouldn't need to download a separate app, as people mostly have the CoinGecko app to start with for price lookups.

Coinmarketcap and Coingecko are two biggest websites for cryptocurrency market data tracking. They built their portfolio trackers for everyone, free and available on mobile too.

Coingecko Portfolio Tracker: https://www.coingecko.com/en/portfolio

There is a blockfolio before but it seems it was removed from AppStore due to FTX.

Anyway, would you mind checking these two trackers below this is what I installed a year ago on my friend's iPhone

I just want a basic tracker nothing fancy.

Have now got Goincecko and given it a go it looks good so may stick with this for now.

Its just a long process having to enter every single buy & sell I have made in the last 12 months but its worth it as I need to know exactly how I am doing for each of my investments and overall portfolio.

Is the Coingecko app good?
You would have to give more information about what you are looking for besides being compatible for iPhone.

This would make it easier to answer the question of whether this or that app is suitable for you. You can also download and check them out or check their reviews to decide if it has the basic features you need.

You can use Coingecko or other sites that list crypto prices but you will need to register and login. The one I used more now are my favorites on exchanges, there are some exchanges you can have favorite and also give you the option to pin 📌 some coins. There are many other ways too but these are the ones I am used to.
